Zebb’s Deluxe Grill & Bar

Zebb’s is the quintessential three out of five star restaurant. There is nothing special about the food but it’s not terrible either. Service is hit or miss depending on who you get. The atmosphere is pleasant and casual.

I feel like Zebb’s was the restaurant of my childhood. When my parents needed a break from cooking, they’d buckle us in the car and drive us over to Kids-​Eat-​Free-​Sunday. I’m not sure if they still do that special, but it was the food of my youth. Still, I come here to enjoy a quick meal. You can usually get out in about an hour. Food comes out relatively quickly and service can be spotty, but it’s a pretty basic restaurant. Not showy, get in, get out type.
The food, admittedly, is not great. At all. I feel like they give off an air of «We added something new to our menu» with that same menu from a year ago. New is several months old, apparently. It’s the same old stuff on the menu. There’s no drive to update it either. Pretty bland and now that I’m old enough to know what my taste buds like, it’s a pretty boring taste.
BUT THERE IS A COOL PART TO ZEBB’S.
We discovered a cute little kitten in the parking lot several years ago. The cute kitty was being dished the leftovers from the chef. For several days, the cat would reappear, seeking food. My brother, at the end of his shift, scooped up the cute little kitty and brought him home to us.
We named that cute, cross-​eyed kitty ‘Zebb’.
So the best part of Zebb’s is that we found a cat there. And named him Zebb.

Great burger. Excellent fries. Friendly helpful staff and my kids actually ate! Thats 5 in my book.

I judge a restaurant by the quality of their burger craft and often I am disappointed, well not this time. Excellent fried egg burger

Now I have to say that my family and I used to love this place but will not return due to the fact that my special needs stepson who has a type of dairy allergy was given chocolate milk, after having a long conversation with the waitress that anything dairy will get him violently Ill. My stepson (having intellectual challenges) drank a whole glass of chocolate milk. He snuck it once he tasted it and drank it fast and didn’t realize til he said his milk (thinking its almond milk like usual) was chocolate.
My daughter also cannot have dairy due to her Inflammatory bowl disease, and for some reason dairy and its biproducts cause her intestines to swell causing a plethora of medical issues and massive pain. They put cheese on her burger after we asked nicely no cheese due to allergies. My daughter always checks her food so we sent it back.
By the time we got our son home he was vomiting and had explosive diarrhea and severe cramping. It was horrifying seeing the poor boy suffer and all because a waitress ignored our lengthy request in which we went over twice. This is seriously neglegent and could have sent him to the hospital or worse.
The managers were wonderful and sympathetic and even chipped in to get him a remote control car. That being said, I appreciate their deep remorse and even offered to pay any medical bills. All I have to say is Ignorance that effects peoples lives cannot be trusted so we have never returned.
Just to be careful, if you have health issues and dietary needs, get a manager to serve you. The management staff was quiet lovely and conscious of these delicate issues.

My girlfriend and I live in the area and we always drive by. The exterior is not too extravagant, yet you can see the large enough sign to know that it was a restaurant. The parking lot seems to always be full so we figured it has to have consistent business. We received a $ 10 gift certificate in the mail so we finally decided o go. and we were surprisingly impressed.
We walked in and we were greeted by a young fairly good looking hostess but not in a way that all hostess should. We walked in around 7:30 on a Thursday evening but it was a little quiet so she might have been unenthusiastic and bored. But regardless, customer service young lady, even if we look like a teenage couple, doesn’t mean you should treat us like a teenage couple (foreshadow for the end). Show us that you’re happy we walked in. She sat us in the quiet section away from the Bar, Televisions, and other guests. Are we going to be rowdy that you want to seclude us from your regulars?
Let’s move on to the good.
The place is well put together for it’s theme. Johnny Rockets /​Fuddruckers /​Happy Days Diner. I normally do not like retro themed restaurants but this one did not bother me. Very clean, well kept. I was attracted to the Bar area, which also had booths, and a more friendly inviting atmosphere, but remember, we were placed at the kids’ table for dinner.
Our waitress was very nice, thus why we tipped her well. Properly checked our IDs for alcohol, and was friendly offering us more time to look at the menu without rush.
Chicken Caddy Nachos — Not your thrown together mush. All ingredients were proportionate to the amount of chips we had. Each bite had a portion of each item along with not having 6 chips stick together via cheese. If we only ordered this, we would have finished the entire platter.
Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich — The bun, it was soft yet toasted enough so that my sandwich didn’t get soggy. Chicken was cooked alright, juicy, not dry, could have had a bit of seasoning but that could have taken away from the combination of ingredients in a Chicken Cordon Bleu. The ham was good… right amount of slices to not overtake the chicken. Cheese melted through without any cold unmelted spots. Could have been just a standard Honey Mustard from a bottle. but wow that Honey Mustard.
Zebb’s BBQ Pig Sandwich — My girlfriend ordered this and she was thoroughly satisfied. I myself tend to be unsatisfied with pulled pork. I always have places serve dry pulled pork. This was not the case here. And it wasn’t like they drenched it in BBQ sauce. The pork was just tender, you could see the pork, it had BBQ sauce (which might I add was phenomenal) but it did not hide the shredded pork. This is how I knew it wasn’t dry. Add the chilled coleslaw onto the hot sandwich and it made our evening.
Sweet Potato Fries — My girlfriend’s highlight of the meal. Not going to lie, I dislike sweet potato fries. not Zebb’s though. Good Job, you might have converted me over.
5 Stars for the food, but I regret to return to our Subpar Hostess who now had to cash us out. Everything was fine until she greeted a much old couple who walked in before we walked out. The sparkle that I originally expected from her when I walked in was given to these guests. And to make it worse, she asked them if they wanted to go sit in the booths near the bar area. I hope she is spoken to about this because it will be for the better so that she can become a better hostess with better customer service. Be the pretty face that represents Zebb’s at the door. Don’t push anyone away like you almost did to us.

I am a fan of the fried pickles which I have difficulty finding around here. I do wish they served a greater quantity for the price though. The pretzel burger is really good too.

Wow, great burgers. I’m actually really surprised. Our waitress was great and the food was exceptionally good. Soft buns are best on burgers and the meat was cooked to perfection.
I will surly return the next time that I am in the area. PS, the Blue Moons come in frosty mugs:)

If it weren’t for the Zebb sauce wings, we wouldn’t come back. The table was dirty, our entrée came out before the appetizer, the soup was cold and had to be sent back, only to come out with a skin on top — obviously microwaved.

I grew up in Utica, NY and had a Zebbs locale close by. When I lived in Buffalo this one was there to quell the cravings but now that I live in Charlotte I truly miss this place and realize how great it really is… I’m shocked at the reviews below. Just stick to my food plan and you’ll be glad you ate here.
Do me a favor and get the Zebbs original wings, a vanilla soda, and a chocolate chip cookie and tell me you aren’t a happy camper… I dare you!
These aren’t buffalo wings– they are like a creamy blue cheese cajun wing that is lip-​smackin good and completely crave-​worthy.
Their fountain sodas are 50s style and come in a variety of flavors. chocolate, cherry, vanilla… all delicious.
And you absolutely cannot leave without obtaining a melty ooey-​gooey chocolate chip cookie.
While you may be 5lbs heavier when you walk out the door your tummy will be thanking you.

Enjoyed our salads — Cobb and Fajita. Onion soup was a bit weak. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice décor and a Fudrucker-​like fixings bar for burgers. Would like to come back!

Zebb’s is great! I’ve been going there for over 10 years for burgers and I would say that I’ve gone on average 6 – 12 times a year. I’m PICKY and I love going there.
They have one of the best burgers around. Freshly ground meat, cooked the way you want, on a freshly baked bun. Fries are fresh cut. I know there are other places around that are thought to have better burgers, but I don’t like my burger made out of sirloin, I like ground chuck, so as far as I’m concerned this is the place to go! There is a toppings bar for things like tomatoes and lettuce, and you can order bacon, cheese, etc on your burger.
I’ve had the fish fry and couple times and I’ve been happy with it. I’ve also had the Turkey Chili, which I would not have again, but ONLY because of the turkey part. the chili tasted great, I just prefer beef in my chili. I will admit that I’ve never had anything else there (other than a couple desserts), but whenever I’ve had someone with me they’re happy with their meals.
The place isn’t perfect for sure, I’ve had a couple problems, but over a ten year time period of visiting the place, these things happen. Waitstaff has bad days, burgers are cooked med-​well instead of medium, fries don’t taste fresh, etc… but the overwhelming majority of my experiences were very good.
OVERALL I’ve been very satisfied with Zebb’s and the staff there; when I’m in the mood for a burger in the Buffalo area this is where I want to go! I’ve also been to the one in Orchard Park, Rochester and Syracuse and I’ve been happy with what I got at all of them too.

My friend took me in here on Saturday and told me I had to try the desserts. So this review is only about their dessert counter. I will go in again at another time and try a few menu items and re-​post.
We ordered a few boxes of cookies. The staff was very friendly. The chocolate chunk cookies are to die for! Nice white cookies with big round chucks of chocolate inside them. The round brownies are just as good too – very soft and a nice fudge taste. You must pick up a box or two. You will thank me!
I did try the walnut chocolate stripped cookies but didn’t fiind them to my liking – not as good as the others IMO. They had a cinnamon taste to them and were thinner and crunchier.

The best thing about Zebb’s is the décor concept and the big parking lot. Everything else from the service to the food quality was just not there.
I suggest that they find some new management, review their menu offerings and give it another go.

Zebb Bush was the governor of Florida wasn’t he? Well now he owns this place. It’s not my favourite.
I came here a lot when I first moved back to Amherst (late 00s) because they had footy on TV and I would come in and watch Liverpool highlights and stuff. Those were the days when it was hard to see Premier League games at all. I remember those days and honestly things are much better now than they were then except that I miss my friend and how close we were.
The bartender never liked me. The food was never appreciated by my tummy. The burgers were very average. The wings were just okay.
The service at Zebb’s is not great, their happy hour free food is average, and their food is substandard. Their prices are okay, but a little on the high side. In general this is a place — like Buffalo Wild Wings — that you should come to drink, or possibly watch sports — but not ever, ever come here to get a meal. It’s just not a good option.

I recently tried Zebb’s for the first time. I’ve lived in the area my entire life and until now had only driven past it. After my experience there, I will continue to drive right on by.
Wait staff was friendly, food was awful. My dining partner ordered the fish fry. The picture on the menu was completely deceiving. This was the saddest piece of fish I had ever seen, and the smallest portion, too. One look at his plate and he asked me where we were going to eat after we were finished at Zebb’s.
As for my dish, I ordered the chicken sandwich. It arrived at my table with more pink than white in the meat and after one bite I wanted to vomit. I munched on a few fries, called the waitress over and showed her the meat. She took it back to the cook and offered to have a new sandwich made. I declined. The manager did refund for my meal, (and also comforted me with chicken knowledge and how I most likely wouldn’t end up with food poisoning).
Five stars for the meal refund, one star for the overall experience and both of our menu choices. Sorry, Zebb’s. I tried you, but you’re not a winner in my book.
