Subway

Subway is your standard sandwich/​sub chain. With loads of fresh ingredients and various options, you can always go to Subway for something totally new, or a fresh take on your standard favorites. The great thing about it being a chain, is you know exactly what you’re getting in every order.
This location is very clean with nice staff, standard Subway menu. Decent food for a chain, nothing special — food is the same at every Subway location. They will try and upsell you to a meal, as they do at any Subway you go to.
Great for a quick, healthier lunch option, however there are much better local delis and sub shops to sample in the Northtowns.

This review is mostly about the service. I came here on Monday and left feeling like I had dealt with a car salesman rather than a sandwich artist.
I wanted a 6 inch sandwich and 1 cookie. When I got to the resister, I said I wanted a cookie. Then we had this conversation:
Cashier: «would you like to make it a meal with the cookie?»
Me: «what comes with the meal?»
Cashier: «you can have 1 cookie or 1 bag of chips chips and a large drink»
Me: «okay I’ll have a meal then»
Cashier: «okay then you will end up getting 3 cookies with the meal»
Me: «wait what?»
I felt a bit swindled but after looking at the receipt, I wasn’t charged extra. I was just very confused. I’m not sure if there was a language barrier but the entire time my sandwich was being made I had to ask «what» because the employee talked so fast and had a heavy accent.

Yeah… I know there are WAY BETTER independently owned places to grab a sandwich or a sub all around Western New York. Those are the places that I usually go to. I’m not a chain restaurant kinda gal. But yesterday my son offered to treat me (!!!) to dinner. And he said that he was craving a «Five Dollar Foot-​long». Well, when a fifteen year old presents his mom with a night out on the town like that, a decent mom would NEVER suggest a different location… so «Subway» it was.
This location was very clean and the guy behind the counter was friendly and efficient. My son’s «Foot-​long» (I didn’t bring a ruler to see if it measured up… hahaha) actually cost $ 5.75. Only certain choices actually cost $ 5. I figured that even if it was only eleven inches, such a large sandwich was going to be way too much for me. Six inches is much more my style. It was $ 4.25 for half a foot of turkey goodness.
The verdict: Not the best sub I’ve ever had… but not bad either. Nice, fresh honey wheat roll… Pretty good turkey. … Choice of cheese (provolone for me)… and lots and lots and lots of fresh yummy veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, green peppers, banana peppers, and black olives). The six inch filled me up. My son happily devoured is larger version. We talked and laughed. The kiddo proudly paid. And I felt like a very loved mom. Chain restaurant: Yeah. Fun «Night out on the Town»: You bet!
