If you’re a serious coffee drinker, serious as in you know your beans better than your friends, this place is not for you. True, the space is great. The equipment, exceptional. But, the baristas are inconsistent. Two years ago, different story. The staff was outstanding great at their jobs, truly seemed to want to make a great pour. Now, that is just not the case. A damn shame. Word to the owners: You’ve a great location, great space, outstanding equipment! While it may be difficult to find attentive staff. At minimum they should be able to sweep, remove trash from floors, supply napkins, not put every order in a paper cup.

Never have a bad experience at Spot Coffee– especially the Elmwood location. Bagels, pastries and sandwiches are always delicious and the drinks make a perfect pair. I suggest trying the Cinco Shake in the summer– perhaps not the healthiest of choices but the caramel, vanilla and coffee go hand in hand. The matcha green tea latte is also a great option. This location was my second home during Grad School and it was super accommodating– large enough for group projects and discussions yet quaint and quiet for those who just want to read alone with some coffee.

Great coffee and snacks… HORRIBLE WI-Fi. they shouldn’t even bother, it’s a frustrating pump fake.

Compared to some of the coffee I have consumed, Spot is nothing special. However, they are a serious upgrade from the chain coffee places that populate WNY. Service is decent — standard, and baristas are patient(helpful, since the menu is pretty overwhelmingly large) but service takes quite a while. The interior is nice, and there are usually tables open or places to relax with a coffee. Seating has never been an issue, but as other reviewers have said, the wifi is pretty spotty(pun totally intended). People view Spot as being hipster, but as a chain with locations in Buffalo and Williamsville, I see it as a local chain that’s a step up from Starbs. I recommend the chaider — chai tea and apple cider. Since trying it for the first time, I’ve attempted to replicate it at home, with limited success. This seasonal drink is my favorite thing to try at Spot, and truly redeems their mediocre coffee.

Awesome employees, food and atmosphere! All it needs is the home office to send in a professional cleaning crew for the floors and ceiling. Dirt is falling from the ceiling.

Great coffee shop on Elmwood. Many seating options from sofas to fancy chairs to regular table and chairs. The lighting is ample, but somehow soft. The space is relaxing yet easy to work in. The coffee selections are basic. No super fancy specialty lattes. I’m fine with that, but my husband likes super sugary drinks and they don’t have many options… We’ve only had pastries or bagels, but the food has always been good. The staff are nice and the drinks come out fast. The bathrooms are clean too. Overall, this is a great«Spot» to grab a coffee!

Back home visiting the fam and came to my favorite coffee spot. Or what used to be. The service here is horrible– and by 3 different people. I am so sad because I really loved this place growing up and am utterly disappointed in the service. I asked for an extra hot latte and both my mom’s and my coffee were cold. I immediately bring them to the cashier and asked him to microwave our $ 10 coffees and he did. After rolling his eyes and saying«ow!» While slamming the«hot» coffees on the counter. I understand you probably hate your jobs but come on. It’s holiday season. Be nice. Get better service spot.

Lots of positives, but a few negatives holding it back. Awful wifi and I can’t help but be annoyed by the weird password request system. While I am a big fan of a coffee shop with a kitchen, everything I’ve ever gotten was average and over-priced. All that being said, Spot(especially THIS Spot!) is a great place to work… my go-to for early morning writing sessions or evening grading(with headphones). Chill crowd, good lighting that doesn’t require a flashlight to read, and a nice big open space. I can spread out at a four-seat table and not feel pressured to leave or order something else. Also, can’t beat the parking lot!

Exactly what you would expect to find in the heart of the Elmwood Village. The staff is extremely eclectic, the service rather unreliable and constantly changing, but the atmosphere is unbeatable. They have these counters up against the windows that are just the perfect little nook to go and read/work at. The wifi is extremely shoddy here, so maybe reserve any online work you have for a Starbucks.

Spot Coffee is probably the best thing about Western New York. They’ve got several locations in Buffalo and Rochester and each one has delicious food and drinks. The main location on Elmwood also has a huge amount of space for lounging and is open late. Can’t go wrong with anything at Spot!

I always can count on Spot for a reliably fresh and delicious meal. I don’t drink coffee but in terms of their drinks they have unreal jet tea smoothies — if you’re into that kinda thing. I typically order the roasted turkey panini but I’ve recently been gravitating toward the chicken feta wrap. The sandwiches/paninis/wraps all come with a salad with their house vinaigrette. I usually have enough for two meals between the salad and the sandwich but the last time I went the salad was extremely skimpy, so thumbs down to that. Overall, four stars, one knocked off for their prices($ 10 for a sandwich) and the inconsistency in the portions of the food. If the portions were always equal I’d be okay with the prices. Spot is definitely still worth a stop by if you’re in the Elmwood neighborhood.

This one’s a big location right in the heart of Elmwood. I always stop in here after Saturday morning workouts for my latte. It gets super crowded on the weekends and the lines are usually a good 7 – 10 mins long. The service is quick and the lattes are always rich and creamy. Very nice and cool baristas work at this joint.

Coffee is great! Whole beans for sale is a huge plus! Buy em on a Tuesday and they knock a few bucks off! Neighborhood is great. Awesome to just be able to sit on a sidewalk, have a cup of coffee, a snack, and enjoy the passers-by folk. The décor inside is pretty cool. Eclectic and funky. Those who use labels would consider this place ‘hipster’. I just call it awesome. One small #fail … isn’t that big of a deal, but, the place is usually always popping.. so the folks working here don’t have time to hold your hand and walk you through recommendations if you’re a first timer. After a few visits I got the hang of it.

Usually I pass up Spot for Starbucks, but the day I was on Elmwood was too cold and rainy to walk the extra few blocks, so I settled for this shop. The interior was pretty cool from what I saw, though I didn’t have much time to really look around as I was pretty cold and wet, and shivering at that point. I ordered a chai latte, noticing that the price was a little higher for a grande than it was at Starbucks, and the cup size was a little smaller. But hey, I’ll take what I can get. At least the latte tasted much better; it was light and had much more of a kick. After I drank it I felt pretty great, and not so miserable in the rainy cold. Spot was pretty packed on a Saturday afternoon, and I noticed that there weren’t really any seats left. Tons of people were working on their laptops, or talking with their friends. I felt kind of cramped, even in a big shop like this. Good thing we weren’t sticking around for very long.

Delicious coffee down the street from your hotel is always a win. I went here twice during my quick stint in buffalo and had a really good iced latte and iced tea. The vibe is very Vermont coffee shop but I dig it. The staff was super friendly both times I came in.

Love my tall iced caramel macchiato! I was walking by and the aroma outside was so tempting I came in! Wish I lived in the area and I would come here often. The baked goods look great!

The people here are chill and friendly. A clean coffee shop with just enough ambient noise if you need to study or get some work done. The food is good but on the pricier end for what it is. Would not go out of my way to come here.

All locations of Spot(not just this one) have the same problems — atrocious service from impersonal staff members who feel as though you’re inconveniencing them when ordering. It’s not just me, a lot of people think this. And until they fix this, they’ll always be nothing more than a mediocre coffee shop with old Salvation Army furniture. Every cup of coffee I’ve had from here in the past 2 years has had coffee grounds in it and every sandwich I’ve eaten have taken 2 weeks to prepare. Spot is only popular because it’s the first«trendy» coffee shop Buffalo ever had. You’d be better off elsewhere.

I used to Come here all the time when I was a teenage whore and I thought it was the greatest place on Earth. Now that I’m a slightly less whorey adult, I still think it’s pretty good, but maybe not exactly the same. When Spot was connected to New World Records, it was the perfect marriage. They still have a great product and this particular location is my go to Elmwood coffee place. It’s a coffee shop. It’s a place to go. They have drinks and snacks. If you don’t like drinks or snacks, then don’t go there.

Spot Coffee = Spotty Wifi. Not a great place to do Internet work unless you bring your own wifi card. ++ Parking lot. Lots of space, perfect for business meetings, interviews, etc. Open late. Good people watching. Nice Patio Good place to do work if you don’t need the Internet(and you like noisy environments). Coffee is hit or miss, but usually a hit. I like their specialty blends(especially Ethiopian). Espressos are nice. Strong coffee. I usually get it half decaf otherwise it’s too strong. – Pricey sandwiches which are not always remarkable. Wifi. Couches are not comfortable. Nice window seats. Overall: hipster coffee shop with decent drinks, spotty wifi, overpriced unremarkable sandwiches and lots of space.
