I was in town on business and referred to this place by my client. They are most known for their micro brews and«pods» which are basically customizable calzones where you can mix up all kinds of ingredients and even the dough type that is used. I tried and enjoyed the, «stinger» with a side of their delicious home made bread pudding with much aplomb. My only real issue with them is that unless you are staying at their location in the Courtyard Marriott hotel or able to walk or get their via mass transit, parking is non existent. I was not staying at the hotel they were in so I basically circled the place 3 times and eventually begged the hotel valet to let me park and quickly run in as I had ordered ahead of time. Because there was a hockey game all available parking was on a pay basis meaning at least $ 10 dollars to simply run in. I could have also taken my chances and parked on the curb but honestly, next time I will either try to stay at that hotel or simply go to their transit road location which is not down town but which IS more friendly to cars and parking.

I’ve enjoyed Pizza Plant for a couple of decades now so I was thrilled to hear they were opening a new location downtown. I stopped in yesterday to check it out. It has the same kind of feel as the Transit Rd location. I enjoyed the historic Buffalo images which is a nice touch. I was glad to see the impressive list of draft beers which is in keeping with their other location. Plus, they still offer free peanuts — one of my favorite things about Pizza Plant. For my first visit, I just settled in with a beer and took it all in. The bar filled up quick with super zealous sports fans so eating at the bar was not an option. Its a great space. I’ll be back, many times I’m sure. My only complaint is that I have to arrange dining around sporting events. Thankfully, this will not be the case in the summer.

Went to Pizza Plant for the first time this evening. Our first impression: good food, unimpressive service. We didn’t expect particularly speedy service, since it was a Friday evening & rather busy when we got there. We figured it would be a while before our meals came, so we ordered an appetizer – which we don’t usually do – figuring it would keep us all from gnawing off our limbs while we were waiting. Somewhere in the neighborhood of forty-five minutes later(and with no word from our server in the meantime), our appetizer finally arrived. Followed *immediately* by our meals.(And by «immediately» I mean quite literally that we were still serving ourselves the appetizer and hadn’t even taken a bite yet.) In the meantime, the table next to ours, which was seated probably 15 minutes or so after we were and was being taken care of by the same server, were happily eating their appetizers long before ours appeared, so we don’t know what took ours so long. We would have been perfectly happy had our server stopped by at any point to explain and apologize for the delay.(It also would have been nice if she’d given us adequate time, once our appetizer had finally arrived, to eat it before serving our meal. When I waited tables we were trained to pay attention to that sort of thing.) The food was good, and we’re really happy to see a new restaurant at Canalside, but the service tonight really left a lot to be desired. We’ll probably give it another chance; hoping that these are just some kinks to be worked out in the new location.

Location: fantastic! Downtown right at canalside where all the happenings are happening. Also, much more accessible than the other location. Downtown for a game? Pizza Plant! Ice skating? Pizza Plant! Kayaking in the harbor? Pizza Plant! Pizza Plant? Pizza Plant! Service and atmosphere: right on. This is the 3rd location I know of the establishment(7! There’s 7 locations! Even better) — one now closed– and this like the others has that Pizza Plant feel: laid back bar atmosphere, not overly cluttered with phony nostalgia, and a kick ass bar complete with giant keg back drop. Beverages: ALWAYS a great selection of brews local and beyond. Flying Bison 716 always on tap. Food: if you’ve ever been to a location then you’ll know the menu well. If you haven’t, go and learn it. Pods, essentially a rolled calzone, are the way to go. Their specialty pies also rock socks. Treat yourself to the Icescreamer for dessert, you’ve earned it; if you haven’t you’ll just have to make it up to yourself.

A review from a family of five. BBQ Wings– really small, slimy. Hamburger and Fries — good. Beef Nachos– plain, kids spaghetti and marinara«tasted funny» Pizza Pod Chicken Sausage — tasty and a bit spicy. Cheese Pizza– alright. So… The family wasn’t thrilled but the location is great if you are going to the Sabres game. Service was very good and attentive!

Yum! I got the white pod. It had onions, tomatoes, cheese and it was very good. I ate the whole thing and I never finish a meal. The service was a little slow. We went on a Tuesday night so it wasn’t busy. It took awhile for the waitress to come over for the first time to get our drink order. After that everything was fast and good! The parking situation sucks too but if you can find a spot at canalside it’s a short walk.

Hello, I arrived at Pizza Plant at 9:50pm on a Monday evening and was extremely disappointed. The place itself is nice, however our server was rather dramatic. After I received my drinks, our server rushed over asking us if we were ready to order, it was approximately 20 seconds. He was not helpful at all, did not explain a SINGLE thing on the menu. He never told us of any specials and had no suggestions. He was in a huge rush for me to order. He was in the back of the kitchen where we could clearly see hum fooling around with other employees. I ordered pizza and wings. The pizza was decent, however the chicken wings were microscopic. I think they forgot to feed the chickens in the hen house. I really want to give this place another shot… but hesitant! 2÷1÷2016

First off, the bar staff was kind of rude. Walked up and simply asked for a beer menu and was ordered to turn around to view the menu that changes every 5 seconds before you can read a damn thing. This place seems very manufactured. Like a step up from a Chili’s. They simply brought the suburbs to downtown Buffalo. They do try hard to pay homage to being local They try and promote the whole«Italian» thing, but honestly this place feels like an Olive Garden. Do yourself a huge favor and go to Osteria or Tappo if you’re looking for Italian down here. It’s really nice that they’re trying to occupy this space, but please — not like this.

Pizza Plant is back after a long awaited absence since the closure of the Walker Center location. The new space is incredible with quite a bit of attention to detail. They have a mix of their signature booths familiar to the other locations plus some custom made ones for larger parties. Bar is solid with 30 taps of well thought out craft beers. The owners of Pizza Plant have a talent for sourcing good beers, so if you’re a beer lover you’ll be very pleased. Happy hour and the famous Draft card(15 beers for $ 60) are still in place as well. The menu is the same and the pizza and pods are incredible. I’m a big fan of the Spicy Penne which is always enough for 2 meals. The staff is well trained, super helpful and plentiful. The only downside is parking, but that far from insurmountable. If you’re at Canalside it’s the PERFECT mix of casual dining and craft beer. If you been to a Pizza Plant in the past you’ll be very happy with the new location. If you have not been to one yet it is a stellar addition to the already awesome Canalside so GO!
