Pepper Palace

this was one of the main reasons why i asked my friends if we could go to the walden mall.
i was slightly disappointed.
the good stuff: excellent selection, very bright, lots of space.
the staff are genuinely friendly, and extremely knowledgeable, and i have a huge amount of respect for the attitudes they had, because of the business they work in, i’m sure they deal with some real winners…
the bad stuff: the organization could be better, or even still signed with the brand names?(i put a question mark, because maybe that doesn’t make sense)
not much room to move if you have four people looking at the same shelve.
*disclaimer* what got me into hot sauce, was a hot sauce shop in toronto that is sadly no more, the whole «theme» of the store was that, the further/​deeper/​more away from the enterence you went, the higher the level of hot sauce heat, also organized in brand as well. i think this is a genious idea, and im not even to sure that this idea is done here *end disclaimer*
i strolled online to see if they carried a certain mustard that i was looking for, and they do, sadly when i got to the store, i was only able to get one bottle. when i had asked the staff if they had more in the back, they offered to order some more in for me. im greatful this was offered, but not living in the area deemed it to be no point.
they gave me this huge bag, which was awesome, even more awesome is the next time i go to any location, if more then five dollars is spent (how the hell couldn’t you?) you show the bag and get a free bottle of hot sauce.

Even though this seems like a «one of a kind» store, its a chain. But a very cool one. What a great thing to be selling. They carry all things «hot»: horseradish, salsa, mustard, BBQ sauce, even some oils and vinegars. Probably more too, but those are the things I’ve looked at here.
I suggest starting with the Bloody Mary mix, using some (with vodka), and then seasoning the rest of your food with things you pick up here. If you use too much, have some more of that Bloody Mary ;)

We’re a big fan of the original Pepper Palace in Gatlinburg Tennesse and was super excited to learn of a new location in Western New York.
What is the Pepper Palace? A utopia for lovers of hot sauces and bbq sauces. The selection is huge. A really nice touch is the ability to taste each of the sauces. I especially love the Sweet Bourbon Glaze and Parmesian Buffalo.
The Pepper Palace also carries a variety of oddball items. For example: Cheddar Larva and Scorpian suckers. (Yes, they’re real bugs)
Negatives? Doesn’t quite have the same charm as the Tennessee location. Smaller selection, no cooking demos, and the «waiver required» sauces are not here. Not really a big deal if you’ve never been to Gatlinburg to know what you’re missing.
I definitely recommend the Pepper Palace to all the grill masters and hot sauce lovers out there. For you, this place is a must.
