Parkway Haircutting

I love coming to this salon. Maria, the owner, is a consummate professional with many years of experience. She is a great colorist, and knows how to cut and style curly hair. My hair is in the best shape it’s been in years. The customer service is outstanding, the products available are well priced and the salon has been recently renovated. The rest of the staff is also outstanding. My husband and my daughter also get their hair cut and styled here. They love it too!

I really want to like this place. It is relatively cheap, easy to get in, and these people are über nice. My brother got his haircut here and recommended it.
Sadly my experience was not so good. The shampoo was a painful experience. Ouch! why are you pulling my hair?
Sarah cut my hair and she is a doll but the haircut was terrible. I went back a few days later and ask her to fix it. She happily tried but it was still pretty bad. Just looks choppy. My husband asked what happened to my head.
A few warning signs I should have heeded:
(1) it is a bad sign when they wash your hair before looking at it and asking what you want done. It is hard to understand how really flat my hair is and where it parts when it is wet.
(2) when they use the same products in everyone’s hair. The use the same shampoo, conditioner, and mousse on everyone regardless of hair type or style
(3) She started blowing drying my hair and putting product in it before asking me what I like to use in my hair. I should have realized that she was putting stuff in it but without my glasses I really couldn’t tell
Consider going here for a simple cut. They are really nice people. It is a convenient location and they are relatively cheap. I, however, won’t be back.

— Great prices for a stylish ‘do: $ 15 for a cut — that’s a few bucks more than a the butchers at SuperCuts and WAY LESS than the ‘trendy’ places on Elmwood
— Sarah cuts my hair and she’s the best. For real. She pays attention to details (important for guys hair) and is nice and friendly.
— The other stylists there are nice too, and they’re all up to date w/​trends
Overall, a great place to get your haircut and come out looking good and with plenty of dough left over in your wallet.
