Mattina’s is THESPOT. Bocce’s, La Nova– great pizza but Mattina’s takes the cake. We live in north buffalo and we drive the 15 – 20 mins to pick up Mattina’s every time bypassing countless pizzerias on the way knowing that there is no substitute for mattina’s. Big delicious pies with the perfect thickness of crust. The sauce is sweet but not too sweet and always the right amount of cheese. Whenever we have guests for a game or a UFC fight we always treat them to Mattina’s and to the uninitiated the response is always the same«WHEREISTHISPIZZAFROM?» glad we can spread the word on Mattina’s.

Mattinas is my favorite pizza place in Buffalo. The sauce is sweet and the edges always have the burnt edge that I love. They sauce and cheese all the way to the crust so if you are looking for crust then you won’t love it. They put a lot of oregano on top too. It’s good hot and cold the next day. They sell half pizzas for about $ 9(8 squares) and the large pizzas for about $ 17(16 squares). I always want the burnt sauce edges so I make sure not to pick it up to early because they’ll pull it out of the oven early if your there ahead of their suggested time. They’ll have par cook it for you to finish at home. Their bbq grilled wings are also really good! Always look for coupons too! The worker added a $ 2 off coupon to my order yesterday.

Mattina’s has been hit or miss in the past, but the last three times(over the past 18 months) has been consistently very good. Most recently I’ve really enjoyed a half cheese and pepperoni pizza, as well as some BBQ wings. The wings were fried up nicely and tossed in tangy-sweet BBQ sauce, and I had to make myself stop eating them. The pizza was cooked perfectly — something Mattina’s seems to have struggled with in the past — but included their often reviewed«well done» finishing touch including a few small savory blackened crusty parts on the edges, well cooked throughout as well. Mattina’s has all the pieces of a really good Western New York pizza, including a thickness between Brooklyn-style thinner types and the deep dish, a tasty sweet sauce that isn’t skimped on, spicy cupped pepperoni, tasty cheese and decent proportions of each throughout. When it’s cooked properly, as it has been as of late, its a darn good pizza. Can’t wait to go back.

I ordered a pizza/wing combo on Saturday Dec 19th around 10:15PM. I gave the person on the phone my address(specifically said Lincoln Blvd in Kenmore) and my phone number when ordering. After almost 1 ½ hours I called looking for my food. The person on the phone this time said my food was at the pizzeria because they couldn’t find my house. The driver went to the wrong Lincoln and couldn’t call me because they wrote the wrong phone number down when I called. They asked if I still wanted the food, and since it was so late and we were starving, I said yes. When the driver showed up with my cold food 10 minutes later, He said«that’ll be $ 39.95.» First of all, I had a coupon for $ 27.95. There is no way tax & delivery came out to be $ 12.00. Second of all… FULLPRICEFORCOLDFOOD? The driver said to call the manager in the morning. Really? That’s customer service? Are you kidding me? With all the pizzerias in Buffalo/Tonawanda/Kenmore, you’d think they’d know to take care of people who choose to spend their money there. I will be calling management today when I get home. They have one chance to make it right or I throw their menu in the garbage.

I take back everything I ever said about other pizzerias… this is definitely my new favorite pizza place! I decided to give them a try because I found a coupon in valupack that gets delivered to my house… best decision I’ve ever made. Their dough is incredible, it wasn’t tough, it wasn’t chewy, and was the freshest I have ever tasted. They weren’t stingy with toppings, and they delivered it in record breaking time. Their sauce is so good it makes angels cry! I will definitely be ordering their pizzas from now on and I’m excited to try the other food they offer as well.

You can never go wrong with the pizza at Mattina’s. Its not the best pizza I’ve ever experienced, but its good enough to fix the infamous Za craving. Ordering is a little confusing, the pizza sizes are non-traditional, but they will usually assist you if you have any questions. Sometimes the sauce is a little heavy, but it usually isn’t too much of an issue. I enjoy their medium and bbq wings. The staff, however, is another issue. If I do order from Mattina’s, I try to be in and out quickly because the staff sometimes make me feel uncomfortable, like I am imposing. You can tell they don’t enjoy their job, or the fact that youre ordering pizza 30 mins before close. If the pizza wasn’t as good as it is, I would avoid it more because of the unfriendly staff.

Very thick crust, overly sweet sauce and burnt bottom. No bueno, Mattina’s.

We’ve been searching for a «new pizza place» for a while as our favorite closed years ago and our replacement moved out of the delivery area. I was familiar with Mattinas, but honestly had some lousy service there years ago and since I have so many choices in the area, I hadn’t been back. We gave them a shot. They were delicious, prompt and friendly. We gave them another shot(once can be a fluke of course) they were delicious, prompt, not quite as friendly that day but not rude. The 3rd and 4th time the food has been exceptional and timely(delivery both of these times) Only once has anyone been less than friendly. Things we get: Pizza. Mmmm double cheese and pepperoni has been the #1 hit, but regular C&P is good too as was the sausage and mushroom. Wings are great! Good size, cooked crisp. Medium might need a little more sauce, but I know to order them that way now. Their char pit bbq cost extra but they were worth it. Overall, I’m pleased. We have a new pizza place. Now, I just have to hope no one else decides to retire or move. I don’t want to go on the quest for a pizza place again anytime soon!

I finally found out what’s the Mattina with this place when I was here 3 days ago. The issue is that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. I’ll explain in a second. What to order: a slice of cheese and pepperoni. Amazing. What else: the service here is so bad, that it almost makes coming here fun just to experience it. But the food is worth it and it is what it is. I was wondering why the service at my beloved Sheridan/Transit location(there are only 2) is sooooo baddddd. So I came into this original Delaware location to see what the deal is and talk to the owner. This guy has attitude! He has, in fact, the same attitude that the kids at the other location *all* have. He gets defensive. He denies things. He’s abrasive with his customers. And most of all he does not wanna warm up his lukewarm slices of pizza for you. You don’t even get that option. Don’t even ask. There will be a big debate on the necessity of it, if you do. Our warmer is this, these slices are fresh, blah, blah, blah. It’s lukewarm. But don’t try and tell the owner or employees that. See that’s what keeps happening to me at the other location: yelling and raised voices over me asking for a slice warmed up, and insisting. I thought it was«when the boss is away, the kids get lippy» but now I know it’s just a Mattina’s thing. Starts at the top. I feel better now, because if the business fails, it won’t be because the employees were screwing over the owner. Anyway, I wish I could talk to him about the issue but it’s an alpha male thing. He doesn’t want to hear it. I don’t want to get into a fight. I’m one of the single biggest fans of his pizza & wings out there. So I just got a slice. I was offered the choice of crispy or regular slices… that’s a first. Meaning one of the pies was a little burned(lol). I chose regular. And the slices are a little better at the other location. But like I told you, I wanna be like Matt Damon. Who doesn’t want to be like him? We all aspire to be Matt Damon to a certain degree. Driving at high speed around Parisian streets in a tiny little European car. A citroen was it? A renault? I forget. We all have a little bit of Matt in us. And some of us have actually had a bit of Matt in us before. Such as Ben Affleck for instance. Unfortunately not all of us have had Mattinas. And as much as we may enjoy Matt in us, I can honestly say that Mattinas is better than Matt in us. Trust me on this. Ask Ben Affleck. Ask Jennifer Garner. Ask J Lo. But don’t be fooled by the rocks that she’s got. She’s from the block, you know. And her block had a Mattina’s on it for many years. And hence her million dollar behind. I wonder if she really has ever had Mattinass? If not, she should try it. It’s delicious. Ben might get upset though. So what’s the Mattina with you? Never tried good pizza? Come to Buffalo. We have some of the best and most original, greasy, cheesy, saucy wet pizza in the damn universe, and Mattina’s here is one of the very best of the very best. In fact I would squarely(pun intended) put it in my top 5 slices in the region. And I do NOT say that lightly because Buffalo pizza is anything but light. It’s heavy as hell and greasy as f***. And we love it that way and if you don’t love it that way then GITOUTOFMURCA. OK just kidding. But really, to put a slice in the top 20 in Buffalo is high praise. Top 10 means it’s stratospherically good. Top 5, well… it’s squarely out of this world. The reason why«squarely» is a pun is because they are famous here for their weird shapes. Franco’s makes square pizza, and Mattina’s makes«heart-shaped slices». First came Nirvana’s Heart-Shaped Box(and my girlfriend’s Heart-Shaped Box) and Chris Isaak’s Heart-Shaped World, and now you have the Heart-Shaped Pizza by the Goo Goo Dolls, but written by Kirk Hammett of Mattinallica. The slice is very much like Imperial or Franco’s and Blasdell. Imperial is the best in the region, but this place is a very good facsimile of it. But if you’re in Amherst, Tonawanda, Kenmore, N Buffalo, then damn, this is the place for you. Cheap, huge, amazing slices and everyone I know that’s shared one with me has been blown away by how good it is. Make sure you ask them to heat it up. It’s vital to the future of mankind. It’s just not as good if and when it’s lukewarm. And you’ll probably get yelled at for asking and they might even flat out refuse to do it. So if you’re Saudi Arabian or you’re from a town north of Corfu(i.e. you’re one of those Madinas/Medinas) then you need to come and try Mattina’s. And as for everyone else, you do too. It really is that good. Come and check it out. And the location over on Sheridan near Transit is even better, by the way. And don’t ever let Matt do it the rear way with you. It won’t be enjoyable at all, I speak from experience. It’s one thing to Mattina’s Pizza and love it, but you will NOT love Mattinass. Not at all. Not even a little bit. In fact it’s like the opposite of this pizza. Ouch.

Mattinas never disappoints. I recommend ordering a well done pizza. Bbq and hot wings are good as well. Prices are average, waits never too long. I’ve been going here for years and will continue to do so.

Pizza was fantastic but everyone that ate the wings at our party got food poisoning and were all throwing up in the middle of the night. Won’t order again.

Well, having a pizza addict boyfriend, he has taken me to all of his favorite joints. And I must say, he has great taste and I’ve never been disappointed in his choices. With that being said, he has recently introduced me to Mattina’s. Located on Delaware, they have a covered patio in the front of the shop, as well as indoor seating. When we walked in, there was a wall of pop coolers and the front counter had been recently stocked with some fresh slices. A bottled pop and two slices for $ 6.25! Sold! We got our slices to go, and when I peeked at them on the car ride home, they are bigger slices(not Zetti jumbo sized, but one slice will definitely fill my tummy!). Our slices were crispy and flavorful, nothing worse than a soggy crust, as I prefer my pie well done. The sauce has good flavor and they didn’t skimp on the pepperoni! We have now gone here several times, also getting the BBQ wings which were tasty. The pie slices that we have gotten have always been consistent in taste, which is such a sigh of relief!

For taste, I give the pizza and char bbq wings both 5 stars. Just need to get it together as far as consistency. Love love love those wings — when they are cooked long enough. Same with the pizza., love the sweet sauce and crispy burnt edges. The thing is, it’s inconsistent. Sometimes too much sauce, sometimes too little. It tends to pool in the middle and be too light toward the edges. We ask for ours on the well-done side otherwise it’s undercooked. Wings sometimes could use another minute or 2 in the fryer.

Pizza is absolutely amazing, best around! However the wings were a disappointment, tried regular and boneless and they were dry and overlooked.

Mattina’s is pretty much the only place that our family will get pizza from now. If we are heading over to family’s house for pizza and fingers, we always get Mattina’s, even though there may be closer pizza places. The pizza has a sweeter sauce to it than many pizzerias, but it fits the style of pizza. This is not NYC style, but not Chicago style either. Crispy burned edges on the crust(yummy) and chewy inside. Although I don’t eat them, we always get the BBQ chicken fingers and have had many people comment on how they think they are the best fingers they have ever had. I will dip my fries in the BBQ sauce for the spicy, smoky tang. My only complaint is that the bag of baby carrots that comes with the fingers has to contain some of the smallest carrots I have ever seen.

Recently I have been stopping weekly for their lunch special — 2 huge slices and a drink for $ 6.00(includes Tax). The service is fast, the kitchen /dining area is clean and the Pizza is great. One of the better pizza’s in the area.

Unfortunately, this place has been sliding down hill, to the point that we no longer order here– at all. We used to get a half tray at least once a month, its affordable and I like their sauce, but no more. They are stingy with the cheese, to the point that it’s only covering half of the slices. And they really, really do not know how to cook fries. Cold and mushy.

The best NY pizza in Buffalo! The pepperoni is great. And the white pizza is loaded with onions. Delicious sauce & always hot & on time. It’s making my mouth water, jut thinking about it!
