I LOVE the chicken finger sub! It’s SO delicious! This location is especially convenient when you want a down town-ish atmosphere! Super cute little street! I love coming here when I visit Buffalo!

This Jim’s steak out location is great. I always love the food here. We got the chicken finger sub(mild) with blue cheese. Always a favorite. Lots of other places to go in this area as well.

Yum yum yum!!! It was awesome and I loved that they offered 3 sizes because the small was perfect for me. I was in the mood for cheesesteak and that has now been satisfied!

Mostly known for a late night chow down place, it really has what you crave anytime of the day. Most people come for the steak and cheese or the chicken finger or the popular stinger; it’s all well and good… but I only really come for the very underrated and under appreciated by some Chicken in the Grass sub. Pure heaven in a sub roll! Juicy chopped chicken steak(chicken steak… hmm what is that, idk it’s good), fresh spinach, cheese, and an awesome peppery chicken gravy. It might be a little messy to eat, but that just means it’s super good! Why are you still reading this. Why am I still writing this??? Get over there now and grab this sub… and a few extra napkins.

I ordered, over the phone a chicken philly, picked up the sandwich, couldn’t get points on my card because the machine was broken, drove home, put on my pj’s, got on the couch, turned on Judge Judy, opened my sandwich to find its not chicken. I spent $ 9 on this sub and I don’t eat and I didn’t order beef. I called and the girl couldn’t find the order but offered to remake it. I got off the couch, got dressed, closed the sandwich and the bag, grabbed my keys and walked back to Jim’s and picked up my chivken philly. I asked how I will be compensated for my inconvenience I was told«we remade it». I said the fact that I’m not on my couch eating it is an inconvenience that I should be compensated for. Lashell said she is just a manager and gave me the corporate office info. Why can’t the manager make decisions to keep happy customers? She could have offered a free cookie it would have been something. The manager’s unwillingness to do any thing at all pissed me off and there are too many restaurants around the area the I can go to and will go to from now on.

What happened, Jim? When I first fell in love with Jim’s it was because the food was incredible. Heaping portions of steak on the hoagies. Well cooked and tender. A stinger chopped on request creating the perfect blend of spicy chicken and steak mixed in proportionally with every bite. But now it’s tough, chewy steak. Stingers which they refuse to chop. Increased prices for decreased quality and smaller portions. I used to not care to pay $ 12 for a meal because I walked away completely satisfied and full. Now it’s $ 15 for less food and lowe quality. It tastes like steakums half the time. A noticeable drop off over the last few years. Step your game up, Jim.

Heaven on earth at 3am on a long Saturday night filled with drinking adult beverages. I like right near this location, but if you go in past 1am expect to wait since it is always pretty crowded… especially around 3−4am. You get to watch 25 drunk slobs stuff down greasy subs while you wait which is a fun bonus. The food itself is solid… chicken finger subs and steak hoagies are their staples. The fries taste very fake and overly salted… but at 4am no one cares. When I try to eat healthy I go with a turkey/ham on wheat which is really good but I always wake up the next morning tasting onions. No matter what you eat at Jim’s.healthy or not, be expected to make frequent long trips to the bathroom the next day, I have seen some people at their worst the day after eating Jim’s at 4am. I have eaten Jim’s for lunch before… typically turkey and ham, and it still seems to mess me up for the rest of the day. So heed the advice for the feeling the next day, but lets be honest… at 4am drunk and hungry do you really care about what happens the next day? Exactly… so grab some of the best late night junk food Buffalo has to offer and hit up Jim’s.

Jim’s is a pillar of the late night, less-than-sober, scene when it comes to deliciousness. You may hate yourself tomorrow, but I bet it probably has more to do with the bars you visited before Jim’s and the cocktails you consumed. I visited Jim’s as a college student, I visited Jim’s on the night of my Bachelor party(Shhh!!!), and I still visit Jim’s when I have to go in to work an overnight shift and I want to take a sandwich. They wear T-shirt’s that say«I see drunk people». They all yell thank you when you drop a decent tip and the cashier shout’s «SAYTHANKYOU!» It’s not the Ritz. It’s still amazingly good! They do have to herd a decent amount of intoxicated folks, but that’s either you or it’s not your problem. I love that when I wake up at 3 am and stop by Jim’s on the way to work I can say«Hey I’m on my way to work…» and they reply with«He’s going to work! Make his sandwich so he can get going!» and they mean it. Their clientelle may be a bit foggy, but Jim’s staff is always on their game.

MUSTHAVES: That I have eaten over the many many years that me and Jim’s Steakout have co-existed in close proximity to each other since I was a child… BBQ Chicken Finger Sub(I personally prefer to take it home & toss it in the fridge for a bit, I like it the best cold! :)))) ANYCHICKENFINGERS, any style with fries — omg, salvation is happening in my mouth right now just thinkin about it… Poutine Fries– um I didn’t even know what these were before Jim’s! I’ve seen them other places since where cheese curds and gravy are offered over a bed of fries, but here at Jim’s they don’t pretend to be fancy fanc, its just nacho cheese all the way with gravy gravy and it is a mixture I never thought I’d love until I tried it, thanks Jim… you’re the best! Veggie Burger — I feel this is one of the best Veggie Burgers in town, despite it being from a fast food joint like Jims! Just tell em you want it with everything on it! :) Oh it’s divine. TIPS — And don’t forget to tip your cashiers/food preppers in that nice little green bucket on the counter, if you do they will melodiously send you a group«Thank you!». It’s alwayssss nice to be appreciated ;)

Delicious food and a VAST menu to choose from. Plenty of vegetarian options – and you can even get your sandwich on a wheat sub roll! My husband says the Frenchy(steak topped with grilled peppers, onions, and secret sauce) is possibly his favorite sandwich ever. I would also the onion rings, fries, and sweet potato fries, which are always hit and crispy. The service is quick and they are open VERY late, making this a great place to stop for eats after a night out!

It is with some apprehension that I pen this. In a number of ways, I think that Jims is a chief factor in what is wrong with food in Buffalo. It is the exact same food that’s been eaten for years, fries and hoagies and chicken fingers, and yet it in all the years that I can remember this place has survived countless restaurants which I thought were more innovative, more interesting and more creative. There are too many places like this in Buffalo, places which cater to the lowest common denominator. By God do I wish there was one in Philadelphia. Reader, there comes a time in many a man’s life where he finds himself awash, utterly smashed out of his gourd, and without any semblance of intelligence. In the midst of this time, he may shelter and refuge in a place that allows him a place to fill his belly, pull some of the rotgut out of his system and continue his trek back home to a bed… or right back out from whence he came. It is a noble task to survive these people, to continue on through loud shouting, slurring of words, poor tipping and an overall unpleasant customer base, all during a time of night where none sane or sober are awake to great it. Jim’s does it, and does it better than any place I have yet to find. I have no idea how they make that drunk food taste so damn good, but they do it better and make better sandwiches than many places which have aims to be a high end lunch spot. It’s not high cuisine. It’s not even close. But there’s a reason why they keep going: the serve a horde of people who no one else will serve, and give them exactly what they want exactly when they want it. And it is glorious.

Known for their«I see drunk people» quotes on their Jim’s shirts, those four words describe the biggest part of their business, having lines of drunk, hungry people going out the door at the end of the night around 4am when people are forced to leave the bar and feed their drunken need for some great drunk food before getting home and praying to the porcelain gods that their great food stays down for them to enjoy. Now that I got that graphic tale of how Jim’s Steakout became the hot spot for the late night munch fest let’s get on with the review! Assuming your reading reviews here to see if this place is right for you, I’ll give you an honest answer, yes it is. Jim’s has a variety of food that you can choose from. My favorite sub they have is the Diavlo which has steak chopped on the grill topped with fried hot peppers, melted cheese and Jim’s Secret Sauce — all on a toasted Italian roll. All hoagies come in an 8 inch or 12 inch option. In the mood for a taco or possibly a wrap? wings? other hot or cold hoagies? How about a burger grilled to perfection? that’s just a short list of options you can get here. If you’re on a diet or just like to eat healthy there are different varieties of salads, from healthy to unhealthy salads, or even order one of each ;). There are a few different side orders you can add onto your order as well such as onion rings, chips and three different styles of fries: regular fries, taco fries, and if you’re Canadian you’ll love this more than anyone, the poutine fries. There are combo options you can choose from too which will give a slight discount if you order your food in that fashion. Think this can be your favorite place where you might start dropping some serious cash here to feed that Jim’s craving? Ask them a Jim’s card. The card is free and you can gain points with every purchase you make. You’ll be pleasantly surprised when you tally your points and get a meal on Jim’s for being a great customer. I lost my card but they were able to get me another one and transfer my points, so you know they want you to get the points and get a free meal on them because that’s just how they are, great people who put up with a lot of drunk people to make sure your fed before passing out. This is one of the best ideas for a company I’ve seen in a long time, and can see this place blow up and expand throughout the U. S as one of the next big things. Try it out now so you can tell everyone that you had Jim’s before Jim’s was big when it gets there.

Jim’s Steakout is no joke, the BESTDRUNKFOODEVER! Imagine, getting sloshed on cheap pitchers of Labatt Blue and shots of Jagger on the college bars on Main Street, the hipster bars of Allen St. or Elmwood, or the trendy clubs of Chippewa. Imagine, it is 3am, and you need something to soak it all up. Now imagine only to then have a legitimate local chain that is conveniently located in all of the bar districts of the Queen City that does Steak Hoagies, Chicken Finger Subs, authentic Buffalo Wings, Tacos, and all sorts of other decadent artery clogging delicacies. Since, graduating college from UB I have dreamed of going back just for the calorie bursting glory that was«Jim’s Bleu». Last weekend, I was able to make my dreams come true. How many people get to say that? I came back to Buffalo for a college reunion of sorts, and we all made the obligatory stop at Jim’s Steakout. It was just as good as I remembered. Perfectly Fried Chicken Tenders smothered in Buffalo hot wing sauce= 1 Star + Chunky Blue Cheese Dressing= 1 Star + Lettuce, tomato, onion= 1 Star + A sprinkle of pepper(ahem crack)= 1 Star + All in between a perfect 12 inch grilled hoagie roll= 1 star = the infamous Jim’s Steakout Chicken Finger Sub, a five star foodie experience. This beautiful beast is dangerously open till 5am. I miss Jim’s Steakout. I miss it so much.

I live in Miami but every time I come to Buffalo to visit my family, eating at Jims is a MUST. Literally I crave it here ALL the time. The food is consistently delicious! It is a fast food place so obviously you expect it not to have the greatest service or cleanest facility, etc… but compared to other local fast food places this definitely tops the list. A HUGE plus is that it’s open sooo late. This is my drunken night craving every single night that I go out in Buffalo and make it a point to visit one of the various locations after a few drinks. Then the food becomes 5 star restaurant good ;)

Oh my goodness! The service is sooooo bad! Once I came in, and the cashier was talking with what appeared to be his manager. I just stood there staring at him for about a minute before he finally turned around to ask me my order. Even when he was taking my order he wasn’t paying attention. At one point he completely ignored me, turned around to the guy he was talking to and started talking to him while I was telling him what I wanted. Afterwards he was like, «Wait, what did you want to order again?» Ugh! Once it came, the girl at the grill brought it over to the counter for me. She was really nice. Like amazingly nice. My first thought was, wow, she should be the one taking the orders, and the non-gentleman who took my order should be the one flipping burgers. It’s funny because the manager was there the whole time, and he didn’t notice the bad service at all. On the plus side, the food is pretty good.

This place is pretty awesome. But i feel like everything is a couple bucks more than it should be. Their chicken finger sub is what I usually get, although the stinger is amazeballs too. both end up being around $ 10… Not outrageous by any means, but it would definitely taste a little more 4 star like if I got change back for my Hamilton. Their fries, dang… always piping hot, crunchy, crazy big, and coated with just the right amount of salt. Delicious. Wait times can get lengthy sometimes at peak lunch/late night hours but hardly ever unbearable; the mood of the people around you in line plays a big role.

The back of the workers’ t-shirts read, «I see drunk people.» Clearly they are not subtle in advertising to their clientel. And sure enough that pretty much describes what you’ll find at Jim’s Steakout. I’ve noticed a definitive difference between my experience at this restaurant after having had several beers. Jim’s Steakout is like that really«beautiful» girl you made out with last night when you had too much to drink. I give that beautiful girl five stars but when I rendezvoused her in the daytime, it went about three stars. Overall, I give her a four and plan on meeting up with her in the future. Do yourself a favor and down a growler from The Village Beer Merchant down the street and then come in here for a nice cheesteak. She won’t do you wrong and she’ll leave you smiling as you fall asleep. :)

Frankly, I just don’t get it. I like this place because it is always open and it is cheap. But the food isn’t very good. The tacos and wraps are ok, but subs are gross. My brother had the steak sub because it seemed to be the specialty(based on name, no?) and it wasn’t very good though and looked even worse. The folks working here are not friendly(not mean, just not friendly) and the woman at the register was impossible to understand. Still, I am tempted to go back to try«taco in a bag.»
