I love this cute little café! Food is delicious. Had the pancake and eggs with bacon. Only 8 dollars! The service is wonderful. They don’t rush you out the door. Very homie feel!

Inconsistent. I’ve only been here twice, the first time we ordered breakfast items and everything was good. Service was friendly and quick. Nice little space for breakfast I thought. Second time we had lunch and breakfast items and it wasn’t very good. The fries were terrible in my opinion, kind of like Burger King’s. Cuban sandwich wasn’t too great either, and the home fries were way under cooked. I’ll probably give this place a couple more shots but as of now kind of up in the air on how good it is here.

Good food. Very quick service despite being very full. Very friendly vibe. There may be a wait if you are hitting there at peak times; we went there on a Sunday morning. Parking can also be a little rough if it’s very full.

Good french toast. Potatoes that received rave reviews were nothing special. Clever, comfortable décor. Server recited the specials then appeared surprised when I ordered a simple eggs and toast breakfast. I mean… it’s on the menu.

First time ever being at this place and I loved it! My boyfriend and I just wanted to grab some brunch and we are always up to trying new places. I did not really read into many reviews because we tend to go for 4 stars and up but I was completely happy with our meal. The place is a hole in the wall as we drove past at first but I was pleasantly surprised upon entering. We were seated right away and our waitress was very bubbly. She asked if we had saw the specials and even suggested some of them to us. We ordered eggs Benedict and the banana caramel pancakes. My eggs Benedict was probably the best I have had and I could smell my boyfriends pancakes the whole meal. He ate them in about 5 minutes. Our waitress did not hesitate to come and talk to us and she was super friendly. She made jokes here and there and even told us that they were relocating soon. We will definitely be back! Brunch is what we love to eat the most and this place knows exactly what to do and they do it well!

I was browsing Unilocal for a breakfast suggestion near our hotel and the Howling Rooster popped up. I had a Greek skillet with gyro meat. It was a simple, yet filling and satisfying meal. The veggies and hash were crisp, the gyro was very tasty and I liked that they sprinkled feta across the top of the eggs. My better half had to try the Roo-ben omelet. I don’t know why I never thought of combining my love of reubens into an omelette but it totally works. It was delicious. Our waitress wasn’t the friendliest, but the food was good and served fast, so I would certainly return to sample some of the other offerings.

Even though a few reviews mentioned bad service I still wanted to try this place since all of the food pics looked amazing. I’m glad I did because the food WAS amazing! Lots of menu choices and specials to choose from. As far as the bad service reviews go, I saw the complete opposite this morning. Everyone who walked in got greeted and seated immediately and our waitress was quick to get us coffee and take our order. Our food came out so quick. SO quick. I ordered the Italian omelet which was one of today’s specials but she told me that it will be added to the menu soon. The omelet was topped with chopped tomatoes and stuffed with diced salami and pepperoni in enough mozzarella cheese to pull at each bite. Served with home fries and toast, it filled me up. My boyfriend got the biscuit with [a generous serving of] gravy with a side of scrambled eggs. Seriously the biggest biscuit I’ve ever seen! What I liked the best about the Howling Rooster is how the waitress described the specials to us, with imagery and enthusiasm it convinced me to try something I normally wouldn’t have ordered. I LOVED it though and am looking forward to coming back here soon.

Alright, so I have to bump this place from a 4 to a 5. My previous review still stands, however, my fiancé and I have found myself coming back here more and more. We made a return visit here or there, but lately we’ve been going almost monthly. Okay, I cannot speak highly enough of the Greek Skillet. I wish I had one right now. In front of me. I would be devouring it. This amazing concoction is home fries sautéed with tomatoes, peppers, onion, and GYROMEAT. Its topped with scrambled eggs and feta cheese. The gyro meat here is amazing. Now I want to go get one right now. The owner, or at least we presume she is the owner, is such a sweet, nice lady as well, which adds to the awesomeness of this place, because she is always floating around with coffee and taking orders. Now I want to go back right now!

This morning we became so completely turned off due to the terrible customer service at this restaurant. This morning we got there at 8am and were the first group in there and the first to order. We each ordered pancakes(3 sets and 1 for baby), and other little things such as sausage and eggs. When I ordered I asked for her to bring out the baby’s pancake so it would occupy him until our food came. About 15 – 20 minutes later they brought out the single pancake. Which I had to inquire about. Then we all sat and waited for the rest of our food. In the mean time the place became packed and all of these families received their food before us, people that were sat and ordered after us. Then I asked a server — who was not ours — where our food was? Because we have been waiting a long time and my son will soon begin to get antsy. She said she would check. Our server came out with our food a little while later. I asked what took so long?(It being about 30 – 35 minutes after we ordered) she blamed the pancakes for taking too long. From my own experience pancakes usually don’t take that long. And my sons obviously cooked fine. A few minutes later, the chef and I’m assuming owner, came out to ask what the issue was. I told her that we had been waiting too long for pancakes and eggs. She said the grill just took way too long. Which blows my mind. And what upset me even more we did not receive an apology. I received a lot of attitude. I said we loved coming here but now they have made us feel less than a customer. My family and I are very disappointed in this establishment. We hoped there would have been some sort of explanation and understanding. But there was zero. And for that they have lost a lot of business. So if you’re looking for nice and average speed service — I suggest you do not take a drive here.

This place became me and my wife’s go to breakfast spot. Always good service and food. Huge portions, we always have breakfast for the next day. Can’t say anything negative about this place.

Current construction makes locating this business a little tricky, however, once you have found your way inside, the décor is quite«cute» and had a sort of «home sweet restaurant» feel. Our waitress, although somewhat of a dry and perhaps misread as grumpy personality was quite attentive and accommodating of our somewhat larger group size(5 adults. 1 toddler) during busy morning service. I enjoyed the«Rooster Breakfast», ham and cheese scrambled within its pile of tasty eggs. Side of hash browns and toast. Very simple meal but delicious nonetheless. I would return again and follow our fellow Unilocal tips to explore other menu options.

Must try if you are looking for a place for breakfast and head to Niagara Fall. Coffee was good and food was fresh and portions size was just right. Love the service and the friendly atmosphere.

It’s as cute as can be inside and there are lots of choices. The prices are quite reasonable. I was a bit concerned, though, when we walked in the door and weren’t quite sure what to do. Should we wait? Should we seat ourselves? There was no sign and no hostess… in fact nobody came out to greet us for quite a while. And when the hostess/waitress did come out of the kitchen it appeared(at least for a second) that she didn’t know what to do with us either. She actually said, «Whaddaya want?» as if we were crashing a private party rather than walking into a restaurant with the hopes of getting a meal. Once we were seated everything was much better. Our waitress(the other one) was friendly and efficient. Our food(Walnut Spice French-toast for me and eggs Benedict with home fries for my boyfriend) was delicious. The coffee was frequently and cheerfully refilled. I will definitely come back, but I sure hope they get a bell or something for the door so they know when customers arrive… and then they learn how to make the customers feel welcome.

This is the cutest little breakfast place ever. The building is a bit unsightly, but that’s probably the worst of it. The parking lot is fine, there are plenty of spots for the taking(and even more now because of the ongoing traffic on Kenmore.) I could be in love with this place just for the feel of it. There’s chalkboard writing on the wall with the specials listed out, the rooster is written all over the wall, and HR has two of my favorite pictures on the wall. It’s kind of an odd thing to put in a review, but I was absolutely in love with what they did. One picture is an Italian-esque with growing purple flowers in the painting. On the outside of the painting, HR put matching purple flowers so it looks like the flowers are growing out of the painting. The other painting is a painting of shutters(on a window), and they have shutters coming out of the painting. So cool! I came here with the same friend both times, mostly because we’re in love with how cute it is. There aren’t many places that pick an animal to represent it’s menu and I love that the rooster is part of that. Statues, antiques, pictures… they all fit the profile of this restaurant. Yes yes, the profile is good, but what about the food, Morgan? I believe the first time I came here I had the typical two eggs, two sausage breakfast and my friend had the french toast breakfast. The eggs were cooked well, but not my favorite scrambled eggs I’ve ever had. My friend really liked her french toast breakfast. I think the food is okay for the most part. Not out of this world great, but good. Our most recent time, I stuck with an omelette. Again, standard fare. I do have to admit, it tastes better when you’re eating with pleasant company. The service is good, our waitress seemed like she was the heart of the restaurant. Her regulars were her passion and serving people was enjoyable to her. It’s nice to see that caring look in people that are serving you. Both times we had exceptional waitresses that doled out their fair share of love and care. Thanks, ladies! Okay, my only suggestion is to change the building into a giant rooster. Please and thanks.

I don’t like this place. They charged me for a dish I sent back to the kitchen for being awful. The dish was biscuits and gravy. The Biscuits & gravy was bizarre — the gravy tasted overwhelmingly of sage & salt and nothing else and the biscuits were actually one giant«biscuit» like concoction which was plain awful. I tried to eat it, I really did but in the end I sent it away in exchange for white toast to finish my poached eggs with because I was still hungry and didn’t trust any further dish. In the end they still charged me for their extreme failure of a dish which is why they get a one star review. Awful food. Avoid.

This is a cute little rooster-themed restaurant on the east end of Kenmore. The staff is lovely and attentive. But, in the parlance of social media, the food is just«meh.» Between three people we had: Eggs Benedict, French Toast with Strawberries and the Meat Lovers Omelette. I don’t think anyone in my group was expecting a New Orleans style gourmet brunch, but the hollandaise tasted like an instant mix and rather than Canadian bacon it was served with very thin deli ham; the strawberries were thawed from frozen(colorless and soggy); the cheese on the omelette tasted like Kraft(no choice was offered). The egg dishes were served with home fries, which were tasty. I was originally going to order Huevos Rancheros, but when I asked the server what kind of beans came with the dish, she informed me there were no beans. Um… beans are a main ingredient of Ranch Eggs. So, with that answer and the answers we received about the breakfast wrap and some other items, I’d suggest they omit offering Mexican style breakfasts altogether. The coffee was better than expected, though still run of the mill. I will always prefer a well-executed limited menu over one that attempts to please everyone and ends up being mediocre. I will go back and try some more traditional breakfast items, but as of this writing, the Rooster is just a substitute for any number of local diners. Nothing to crow about.

If it was named the«Owl-in-Rooster Café» then we’d be talking about cross-species mating which is actually as taboo in the animal world as intimate relations with ones own sibling(or grandfather or Great Aunt) is in our world. So it’s very very very very very very lucky, therefore, that this place is not called that at all. Let’s start with the good. 1) Alex K likes it. It can’t ever be all bad if Alex K likes it because Alex K, you may have noticed, is not easy to please. Although I have tried to please him for years and years and will continue trying to please him in any way he requests even if it humiliates me and yes I am talking about the thing with the rubber gloves and the candle holder. 2) The food seemed to use very fresh ingredients, there was a great variety, and it seems very popular with locals. 3) It’s locally owned. 4) The taste is pretty good. The French Toast was pretty good, not amazing. The Skillet tasted pretty good in terms of taste alone. Now the bad. 1) I wasn’t crazy about the service. Regulars got lots of friendly greetings and goodbyes and thank yous, we didn’t get much of anything. 2) I wasn’t crazy about the prices. You pay more here than you would at some other good breakfast diners. But I wouldn’t mark down for either 1 or 2. 3) Now we’re getting into the mark-down elements. The food was dry. The French Toast was still pretty good but the Skillet’s dryness really affected the enjoyment of it. I like wet breakfast anyway, but even if I didn’t have this preference I’d have thought it was a bit too dry to enjoy. And with not a lot of eggs either. It said«two jumbo eggs» but you wouldn’t have known it. It was mostly dry, non-greasy chunks of chopped up potatoes. Tiny bits of(admittedly yummy) bacon and sausage in between, a tiny portion of Cheddar on top, and a humble amount of eggs, but no juiciness at all. 4) Worst part… my friend ordered the«single piece of french toast» for $ 2-something just so she could try it. She was brought a «full single order of french toast» for something like 4 dollars more. That took the bill from an acceptable 14 or so, to virtually 20. That rubbed me the wrong way because I was fairly sure that the server understood what we were asking for. I’m not the type of person to make an issue out of it in the restaurant. But I’m also very honest in my review about the experience so there you have it. Overall I wouldn’t go back here. I really wanted to try the Reuben Skillet but my dining companion did not. However based on what I had, I don’t think I’ll try it. However since Alex K loves it here, I will probably end up here one of these days, again. Now I just wanna see what those Owl-Rooster babies look like. Maybe I’ll hit up that machine in the mall — «what would your babies look like» — insert picture of an owl and a rooster — cock a doodle hoot. Toowit toobook booooook. OK. I get it. I’ve outstayed my welcome. I’ll head on out. And I’ll take my cock and my owl with me.
