Stopped in for the Unilocal Speed Dating event. As usual. The event did not fail to have us fellow Unilocalers mingling while enjoying an amazing business. Delicious food, wonderful drink options and an atmosphere to die for can be found at this unique spot on Hertel. I am definitely looking forward to exploring a traditional menu spread during a second, more traditional visit. The only thing holding my fifth star back was the temperature in the restaurant. While brutally cold outside, it was nearly impossible to warm up once indoors.

This event was super fun. Globe market is a beautiful rustic shop that truly prides itself with mouth watering food and drink. They had a cheese called sage derby that was salty with an almost a cheddar taste to it. They had a lovely spread of a wide variety of food. Mini burgers, vegetarian tacos, Buffalo wing muffins, pesto meat balls, cheeses(blueberry goat cheese, sage derby and brie) with crackers, wine, beer, sodas and more. This event was super cool. I met a ton of really great people and was so happy to run into others that I had met before. The conversation was great, the atmosphere was lighthearted and friendly and the games and questions really added to the night, allowing us to get to know each other better. All and all I have to say I really had a good time and look forward to events to come. Thanks Alex and Missy, you guys really know how to throw a party!

I attended a Unilocal event here and love the setup of the space. The cuisine is very unique and made from scratch witch is very refreshing. The new owners were very welcoming and informative and made us all feel really comfortable. This is a place i can see myself visiting in the very near future.

I had such a great time at this event! It was really well organized with Valentine’s Day themed ice breaker questions and secret valentines to find. I met lots of really fun Unilocalers and had a fantastic night. This was my first time at the Globe Market on Hertel. They have a really nice space with a lot of character, and they’re available for events! The food was fantastic too. They made a really good vegetarian taco with chickpeas! Thanks Alex!

This was such great time, Thank you so much Alex for finding such a wonderful place for the Elite Speed Dating for Friends. I met so many interesting, witty, intelligent, fun people tonight(this is a credit to Unilocal for recruiting the best people around) and I was blown away by wonderful food selections that were available at this event. But there is one bad thing that has come of this. I’m now on a mission to find Sage Derby Cheese. This creamy, mildly sharp cheese was a little cubed slice of heaven. In fact I want to get a block if it, shave off a portion, put it on top of a quality beef patty and add pepper bacon. I believe that would make the most epic burger EVER. Ok, that said, this event has introduced me to another local gem that will have my business for years to come.

Great venue, beautiful holiday decorations, perfect decibel level of music, delicious food, and good company. The presentation of the food, the consideration for people’s various dietary preferences, and the attitude of the chefs(two brothers) showed a level of caring and attention to detail I really appreciated. As for the food, there was a perfectly poached side of salmon embellished with cucumber«scales,» pesto balls with a tomato based sauce I would love to buy by the quart, and sublime lettuce boats filled with diced veggies and exquisitely spiced chickpeas. Another fabulous event, Alex. Thank you!

This was an enjoyable event with a great vibe; simultaneously elegant, yet simple. It was also the perfect opportunity to not only see some familiar faces, but socialize with some Unilocalers that I hadn’t met before. The venue was cozy and the staff hospitable. The food was just absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait to see Paul’s photos. I really enjoyed the sliders, but also the stuffed mushrooms, pesto balls, house salad, and goat cheese with blueberry — along with a glass of wine of course. Nicely done, everyone!

Unilocal, thanks for being my Valentine! Such a fun event at Globe Market on Hertel. I’ve been to this location in the past for their side salads/sandwiches but the items offered tonight were so unique and totally new to me! Beautifully plated food including salmon, chickpeas, chicken and waffles(my fav: see picture), stuffed mushrooms, sliders, salad, pesto balls(what?!- yes so good!), and a variety of cheeses! I also can’t forget the wine and beer! This was a cozy event on a cold Buffalo winter night — the Globe owners were so nice and did a fantasic job! It’s great to know the back/side room we were in can accomodate private parties and Globe Market to go also caters!

This place never dissapoints. It’s the best place for soup/salad/sandwiches in Buffalo. Everything is fresh and very reasonable. It’s the locally owned, larger portioned, and infinitely better tasting variant of Panera. Come to Globe once, and you’ll never go to a Panera again. I rate it a 5, a firm 5. #flavortown

This place is just okay. I agree that it is not nearly as good as the Elmwood location for a couple of reasons. The food isn’t as consistent, the staff isn’t as friendly, and the menu is far more limited. I like that they offer quick, fresh food, but a lot of it is pricey for what you actually get. I ordered half of a garden salad and a hummus wrap the other day, with no drink, for about $ 12. This was a pretty reasonable sized meal that would be easy for one person to finish on their own. Like other reviewers, I think that they could offer coffee that isn’t just from a Keurig machine. I realize that this is a to-go restaurant, but with the new setup and all(more tables and a nice area to eat) it would certainly be reasonable. It’s a little unexpected that they only offer k-cups. Additionally, this place isn’t as great for vegans as I wish it was. Sure, there are simple wraps and salads, but it would be nice if they had other vegan sides or even baked goods. Also, their vegetarian soups are often cream-based, making them unsuitable for vegans. The up-charge for tofu vs. chicken is also a little annoying. I don’t understand why this would cost the restaurant more in the first place. Despite this, this place is fine. It’s okay. It’s quick. It’s pricey soups and sandwiches, just as you might expect.

I seem to always stop in on cold or rainy days. Grilled cheese and tomato soup always hits the spot! I like having it in the neighborhood. Love the crafty décor. Definitely worth it for a casual lunch.

Never had s bad meal at any Globe Market locations. This location isn’t an exception. Nice staff, delicious food that has a rotating selection of soups and a can’t miss sandwich/wrap/salad menu. Unlike many disappointing lunches at Panera… At Globe my stomach(which is bottomless) feels full when I get a half sandwich & soup combo meal. Always feel like I get my money’s worth! Thanks Globe!

I heard this location wasn’t nearly as good as the Elmwood one but these sources are wrong because my experience here was pretty great. We wanted big salads and happened to be on Hertel but didn’t know where to go, then I remembered about this location as I’m so used to the other one. The inside is super funky, the left side of the café looks like you are in somebody’s home, tables set up with awesome home décor, I really enjoyed the vibe. The place is deceiving, it is a lot bigger once you step inside. We ordered two salads, went with the full size and they were enormous, good for two meals worth. We had two bottles of sparkling water in addition to our salads and it came to 30 something dollars. Definitely not cheap, but the ingredients were very fresh and they had so many different options. They have newspapers for you at the front of the café that we grabbed and picked a seat outside. They have curtains on their patio which makes you feel like you are eating on a princess bed with the canopy hanging from above. We loved everything about our experience here and can’t wait to come back.

I have such mixed feels about this place. I love the Globe menu and their food, specifically. Like the other locations, the food is always reliably on point. I tend to get the Buffalo chicken wrap, Ahi tuna wrap or Greek salad(I am a creature of habit). This location boasts a nice covered patio overlooking Hertel and they now have a selection of craft beer, which is a plus. The service however… every time I come to this location I always remember why I avoided it in the first place. It seems there is only one employee and he is the most beleaguered employee in all of food service. Once, instead of taking my order, he instead was complaining to some nebulous back room employee that the Hertel Ave association never informed him the street would be closed for something so he would’ve known not to open that day. Another time, I called to place an order and was hung up on. Most recently, after ignoring my friend and I to stock prep items, he made it abundantly clear that my desire to produce exact change was beyond irritating. When you get to the point in the service industry when you visibly dislike providing service, it’s usually time for a change. There are just too many other good places to try in this city to feel like I’m being a pain for trying to get a $ 8 wrap. Take or leave this location: great ambiance, awesome patio, counter service makes you feel sheepish and like you owe someone an apology for ruining their day. Head down a few blocks to Joe’s for a better experience.

Walked down to Globe Market on Hertel today. Had a really tasty Greek Chicken Wrap, and my daughter had a delicious Thai Chicken Wrap. Both excellent, we also shared a Broccoli salad and some quinoa also very good. I tend to be one of those people who only review places I like, and I liked this experience. I guess my only complaint was the limited selection of non-alcoholic beverages. I was really in the mood for some unsweetened ice tea or even diet ice tea, but no luck. Other wise everything was great. Patio very comfy, service excellent, great menu and prices were decent.

This place was just odd to me. This place is very very trendy and definitely for a certain clientele. That clientele was not me. When I was ordering the guys taking my order acted like I was bothering them with my presence. I just wanted to get some soup and salad, I don’t feel like I needed to be judged. The décor is fine. The food was okay. What really put the bad taste in my mouth was the service. Just not pleasant. Also, the music they had playing sounded like random noises. I mean, just absolutely atrocious that me and my date would sit in silence for a couple minutes because the sound of someone banging random keys on a piano would come on and leave us dumbfounded.

I L-O-V-E that Globe opened this place a few years back. This two room space is perfect for many occasions. Whether you need a quick bit before catching a movie at the North Park or a post soccer game snack after Mesque. Globe is perfectly situated on Hertel. They have fresh food, which are mostly lunch based, such as salads, wraps, and sandwiches, both hot and cold. The room to the left has wonderful lighting, making it the perfect lunch place. Also, the interior design is very well done, almost like a weathered look in a good way. I believe that you can also buy some of their food, like potato salad and hummus, by the pound. A full lunch might be more money than your average place, but it is well worth it, because Globe is not your average place! Food is made right for you. A sure spot to check out while in North Buffalo

Came to globe after a movie at North Park next door… along with 30 other movie goers at the same time it seemed. My party of 6 Placed orders and grabbed a seat, the staff was super friendly and the kitchen fired out our order quickly. I could tell everyone there was happy with the food and service too. Great sandwiches — I highly recommend the roast beef with Brie and apples. Can’t wait to go back for lunch here.

Globe market on Elmwood is my favorite quick service restaurant in Buffalo. I’m always confident in my meal there and though the prices are high-ish for deli food, you get what you pay for. A hearty $ 9 sandwich will feed two and leave both full without getting the bogged down I-need-a-nap-now ‘itis. This is a satellite location on Hertel Ave with a similar menu and offerings. The environment is nice and the food good, though the service generally seems a bit apathetic every time I go. I give this place a 3.5, but I’ll round it up.

I used to shop at the Lobe Market. They sell all kinds of earrings and various adornments for ones side-of-the-head-stationed listening devices. It was a great place, and when it went out of business I was depressed and stopped wearing earrings for quite awhile. Then, finally, the Globe Market opened in its place. I was over the moon! Until I realized that they do not have earrings. They do, however, have good food! I can’t ever give this place a 5 because of the very high prices, but what I have tried from here is super good and the employees are super cool. One of them is a good friend of mine, and another is an extremely attractive girl with lots of tattoos, so either way you can’t go wrong. It’s a lovely little place too, airy and spacious with nice décor, much like you would expect from a coffee shop. The food is generally health conscious and pretty good, and they have an excellent deli meat selection. I will have to try more stuff and then adjust my rating accordingly. I think the food at the Elmwood location might be better for some reason, but I’m not sure why.
