Dolci has left their current location and there is a a sign saying a frozen yogurt shop is moving in. A friend of mine thought she heard they were moving behind the building next door, but we didn’t see any signage. Another Unilocaler has said they are moving to that location. I look forward to the new location. Dolci has always has a shelf that is all vegan items though there isn’t always a lot there. Last time I was there, none of the items were labeled or priced. It was weird having to ask what each one was.

I really like this place, for several reasons, as follows: 1) vegan cupcakes. It’s kind of funny, cause Bflo really(I mean, REALLY) isn’t known for being vegetarian friendly, but I live within 2 miles of a place with vegan cupcakes. Gotta love it. Plus they’re tasty vegan cupcakes, which has been confirmed by multiple non-vegan friends. 2) their upstairs area: They have this café upstairs which is almost perfect for studying, save for their kind of dim lighting. But what makes this area even better is the people-watching potential, cause it faces these giant floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooks Elmwood. Icing on the cake: wifi and outlets! They even have this little nook in the back with a couch, a coffee table and a couple arm chairs. I’ve commandeered that back room with friends before, and it’s super nice and cozy. I think you can rent out the room too for group meetings and such. 3) gelato: tasty. ’nuff said. 4) staff are all SUPER friendly. The only downside: Although their desserts are top-notch, their regular menu items are a bit hit-or-miss. I once got their caprese salad, which was dressed beautifully, but the mozzarella was rather… firm. My friend had ordered a sandwich that was a bit underseasoned, Actually, I think most of the issues that I have with their food has to do with it being underseasoned. Maybe it’s a personal preference. I did recently have a vegetable soup that was very light, fresh, and flavorful. Hit-or-miss. All that being said, I still come here as often as possible, and when it’s meal time, I order their food. I would much sooner gamble on a hit meal here than eat the more-expensive-but-still-not-that-tasty stuff they sell at Spot. I love this place. Part of me wishes that I could just keep it all to myself. The other part wants everyone to come here and buy their lovely desserts and drink their coffee and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere they’ve got going on. Come support Dolci!!!

I love Dolci! It has a secret lounge spot on the second floor which is my favorite place for reading. It’s quite and has a nice comfy sofa and couple armchairs. I just love drifting away from busy life with a good book and a cup of tea. In the summer, I like to indulge myself with delicious made in house gelatto. Whoever makes them has a great imagination to come up with all sorts of flavors. Are you brave enough to experience cucumber gelatto? You got it!

OK, to be fair, I have had a lot of cupcakes in my life and am picky on them. I stopped here for some after someone suggested them to me. The choice was OK, only 4 options, three of which were heavy on the chocolate side. The forth had a cherry filling of some sort, almond topping. They do look pretty good. Tried one of the chocolate ones, but the least chocolate of the three. Forgot the name. Its a complicated cupcake, which im fine with. It was pretty good. But I almost fainted when he asked for $ 3.75 for it. For one cupcake, and not a huge one at that. It was NOT worth $ 3.75 thats for sure. Especially for takeout. Was not even sitting at a table, not using wi-fi etc. Highway robbery. I’m not positive, but I think its the most expensive cupcake I have ever had, and it was not close to the best one I have ever had.

Gelato… get some now… no time to explain Get it from these folks as they do it right, creatively and with some care. Be adventurous and give their whims a taste. I work with a couple of folks and occasionally we like to department treat and like any group there are divergent palates and Dolci is one of the few places were everybody is happy. All the cupcakes are vegan and amazingly do not taste like they are made of particle board. Worth your while, trust me. Also, a good egg sandwich is something you don’t find at donut chains(those are passable). The good folks at Dolci make a keeper, but for the moment… Gelato…get some now… no time to explain

Dolci has some of the best cupcakes in Buffalo. And they are vegan, which means they are even awesomer. I come to Dolci for two things: a great place to study and read away from the louder spaces of Spot and Aroma — and to grab a great cupcake as a reward to my hours of service to the research gods. Their food is also quite amazing — on a few occasions I’ve had the hummus sandwich and it has been utterly overwhelming in fresh flavors and diversity. I still drool over it. Dolci has only a few problems: their coffee isn’t the best, but it does the job. Because they deal with fresh ingredients, sometimes they run out — but that’s perfectly forgivable on most occasions. And lastly, for having vegan cupcakes, I would think their vegan and vegetarian options for food would be more — in order to attract people for the full meal. Perhaps that’s more of a suggestion then a problem, but it has led me to eating somewhere else first and then returning to Dolci for dessert. While there, try the cookies-and-creak cupcake. It’s a bit sweet, but totally worth it. Also, their gelato is awesome, and a friend vouches that the Mexican Wedding cookies are some of the best she’s had.

2 «seasonal» lattes = $ 12. I thought, «Okay, maybe it will be the best latte I ever had.» Nope. I recommend the marble latte or butter toffee latte only if you like a little coffee with a LOT of milk + sugar + OD of flavoured syrups. Not meant for people who like coffee.

love that they have vegan desserts… got the cookie cupcake with what looks like ¼ an oreo on top of a mountain of frosting. it was dry, not much flavored, and way too sweet. there was also a chunk of chocolately something in my cupcake. that i dont think was suppose to be there… gelatos were really sweet as well.

Stopped in here for dessert and breakfast during my visit to Buffalo. Was happy with everything I tried. The pictures I have up are only a bit of what I tried. Not cheap stuff but very tasty. Good coffee too. Cute little board game area in the second level. Art on the walls is for sale. They do custom stuff(within reason) if you’re willing to pay.

Dolci, my love! What is there to say? Located in the heart of the Elmwood area, this is a local café that brims with love. What sort of love? All sorts. Its staff, their food, the interior, their decorations, the little room with couches and even the bathrooms. They all have a flavor of love to them. Although the place looks small and unassuming from the outside; it’s actually huge. It has two floors with beautiful seating for any occasion: whether you’re meeting a friend or doing some work(free reliable wifi). There’s a beautiful window-front that you can see from the second floor, whimsically observing the happenings of Elmwood village as you eat or drink your coffee. And speaking of coffee, their coffee is amazing and only $ 1(including tax). They usually have 3 – 4 different flavors with some local specialty choices that are a delight to drink. No worries though, their coffee is not the only thing they excel at. I’m just getting started. They have excellent, homemade gelato ice cream(which is free to sample!). If you’re bringing a date(and this is an excellent location for a coffee date), the ice cream has never failed to impress. They also specialize in vegan treats. Although I’m not a vegan, I have tried their vegan cupcakes and they are absolutely amazing. They also sell vegan cakes, which look really good, but are pricey at $ 22 for 6″, $ 40+ for a 10″+. I’ve never had an occasion to buy one yet. They advertise that they have«the best lasagna in Buffalo,» and curiously enough; I tried it. It’s vegetarian, stuffed with eggplant, mushrooms and all sorts of goodies. It’s served with a delicious salad with homemade vinaigrette dressing. I could actually smell the lasagna cooking for about 10 minutes before it came out. My mouth was absolutely watering at that point and it did not disappoint! Although I do want to say it seemed a little too crispy on the sides, but I still enjoyed the hell out of it. It’s $ 11(inc tax) for a full portion. This place is great. I love the staff and the owners are really nice guys. Out of pure selfishness, I want this place to remain low-key. I love the quiet, peaceful environment way too much.

Stopped by this place to grab a quick dinner and I was very pleased with my meal. I ordered the Buffalo Beet salad and a vegan mojito cupcake. YUM! The salad was very healthy and packed full of fresh vegetables and a delicious blood orange vinaigrette. The cupcake was so delicious and was vegan, which was nice to see that they are conscious of those sorts of things. My only complaint was that the prices were slightly high. Like for example, my salad had no meat in it, no cheese, nothing that would cost extra money yes I think it was $ 8…$ 8 for vegetables and a fruit vinaigrette? A little steep. The cupcake was $ 3 which was slightly expensive given the size but I guess not too bad. Still though, I would come back. Staff is friendly and the food is delicious!

This place is really just a hit or miss. I came in one time wanting to get something special for Mr. Jerod L. and got one of their rmini lemon pies cause we’re both super sour people. :P And I got their large gelato. Together they cost $ 10, which I thought was out of controlll! Anyway, the gelato was pretty good — had half peanut butter and half green tea. But the lemon pie was honestly the grossest lemon product I’ve ever had. Ever. Jerod L. lied and said it was good, but he was«full» and the pie sat on the table for the rest of the week. Wah! We came to Dolci again because of a group of friends wanting gelato so we got some and it was cheaper this time around. Ber? Anyway, I’m telling you! Hit or miss! Jerod L. s half nutella and half orange and grapefruit was delicious. My half pistachio and half coconut banana was absolutely disgusting to the point neither one of us could eat it. The pistachio was just strange and the coconut banana had no coconut, but tasted like bananas that were super ripe and brown and I think that’s pretty nasty.

I love dessert. The romance of stopping into a café for a dessert with my love after a nice meal excites me. Unfortunately, my fiancé does not share this desire for sweets so my trips out for this delight are few and far in between. That is probably best for my physique. However, this past Sunday we enjoyed a fabulous meal at Sun Food and figured it needed to be concluded with some sweets. Since Dolci had been on my radar for some time I picked this spot. They had a $ 1 latte special… really? I was already smitten. Then I saw the s’mores cupcake and I knew I’d found«the one». I ordered and the staff complimented me on my choice of cupcake, which I knew was a good sign. The café has lots of seating space and an adorable cozy nook upstairs. Lots of people were using this serene space to get some work done, which seems like a match made in heaven.(Especially if they keep that $ 1 latte special around!) My cupcake was very tasty, the ganache in the center was a little cool since it had just come from the cooler but it was certainly a s’mores delight. I’ll be back for s’more soon!

Absolutely worth the brisk, chilly walk over! The first face I saw when I walked in was this super-sweet server behind the counter. He was very patient as I perused the menu. What a surprise to see such a fresh take on healthy options – vegan, vegetarian and meat lunches! I opted for this delicious cauliflower soup with a beet base and the lemon chicken salad with fresh mozzarella. Wow – everything was delicious and left me feeling light, yet satisfied! The space is perfect for a quiet, nutritious lunch with a side of indulgent pastry bliss – but also quite nice for a working lunch, as well. Free wi-fi anyone? I didn’t try their coffees, but I did grab some almond biscotti to-go. It didn’t make it past the walk back to my car. Whoops.

It wasn’t until recently that I discovered that Dolci had an upstairs. I have always been a fan of their burnt caramel gelato that comes in massive serving sizes — $ 3.25 for a «small» but they really pack it in. But I was impressed w/the upstairs café which is great for studying and people watching as you can peer down onto Elmwood through giant glass windows. Ample outlets for laptop plug ins, free wifi, a private lounge in the back with a couch, and just a quieter ambiance than Spot makes this a good place to get some work done.

Dolci is a neighborhood gem. It used to be located on the corner of Breckenridge and Elmwood. I would walk by every morning and see the same bread baker with his coffee giving me a «good morning» wave. These are the type of interactions that make living in the Elmwood Village awesome, so I was REALLYDISAPPOINTED when they moved away. Luckily for us it was only a temporary leave of absence, as they have since moved across the street from the Lexington Co-op. Financially speaking, they were doing«okay» since moving back but I’m told that business has picked up, which is great because this is a business that deserves your support. Listen to this: — Places for people to sit and work with their laptops upstairs. — Good, not great coffee. I have enjoyed a cappuccino here on occasion. — Biscotti, and a variety of Italian cookies. The almond ones are amazing with coffee. — Really great tarts and cakes. They look beautiful and taste fantastic. — Gelato. Dear God. I love their Gelato. They rotate all kinds. Green Tea is my favorite when they have it. — They do make Vegan treats. The other day I saw some muffins that looked good. — Can’t speak to the sandwiches/soups but they do have a small, changing menu. Everything I’ve tried is really nice there, but the proverbial cherry on top is the pleasant nature of the staff. They are all friendly and cheerful. In a world where people take your money for granted, the owner Richard seems legitimately surprised when I tell him how much the people I know love his store. If you’re in the neighborhood, give Dolci a chance because they make quality stuff that you will love. Thank you for moving back, Dolci!!!

This place is as good as it gets. Everything they sell is made with love. The pastries, the bread, the sandwiches, salads, coffee. Everything about Dolci is fantastic. The owner is just adorable and so are all the other people that work there. They all bend over backwards to make sure that everything is just perfect for you. I just had a breakfast sandwich that had the most amazing cheese on it. It came with greens with pesto and balsamic on it. Such a nice way to start off the morning. Great place to meet a friend or even take a date for a coffee and share a pastry. 5 Stars!

I was initiated to this bakery after a few of my friends discovered it a while ago. I tend to work in coffeeshops, bringing my laptop and sitting down at a table, while drinking a large coffee. Free wi-fi is a must. And I must say, after discovering this place, I prefer this than the more known coffee shop across the street. Yes, I actually get work done here: it’s quieter, the ambience is more relaxed, and there’s less chaos. Given the quiet mood here, I have spent hours and hours just sitting down, working, while sipping coffee. Let me say something about the service. It’s awesome! You need a plug because the only available table doesn’t have a plug nearby? They’ll provide extension cords! You are a large knitting group thinking of spending an afternoon hanging out? They’ll rearrange tables to accommodate you. It’s just impressive, how they take care of their customers. And I haven’t even mentioned their desserts. They’re just heavenly. I haven’t tried them yet, but the way it looks like, it looks quite tempting, and most of my friends have tried and loved it. Let’s just say I have quite a strong self-control that I can avoid sweets if I need to. Additionally, they have a gelato bar, that looks really spectacular, and I should say if I were to indulge, I would probably start with that, even though it’s in the middle of winter. What else? The wi-fi is actually strong; I only had one incident in which it seemed dead, and I couldn’t connect. Other times, it was fine. So yes, I have nothing bad to say about this place. I love the couches too in the inner room. I enjoy this place, and won’t hesitate coming back again.

I was moved to seek out Dolci after trying a slice of their incredible cassata cake at a birthday party, and seeing the words«Internet café» glowing in their window. I’m so glad I did! This space is lovely, as is the staff — an undiscovered gem, hidden in plain sight in its new location on Elmwood. It’s incredible to me that just across the street, Spot Coffee is jam-packed with laptops and coffee while Dolci, with its quiet working space, on-point espresso, free wi-fi, comfy seating, unobtrusive music and plentiful outlets sits nearly empty, like the fertile hills of California before the Gold Rush. This may have to do with the fact that from the outside, it really does look like a tiny little bakery, rather than a café with real food. But I can assure you, the savory stuff’s there alongside the sweet(they say they’re introducing new lunch specials little by little), and it is GOOOOOD. On my first visit, I tried a giant slab of vegetarian lasagna as big as my head, perfectly seasoned and served with a side of herby salad, made with fresh dill and basil. Thanks to Dolci’s welcoming space and staff, along with this newly fleshed-out menu, I was able to I work productively for hours, from breakfast til almost dinner time, totally undisturbed save for some friendly conversation with the owners, two very nice guys. The only thing that would have made it better? More awesome people coming in to enjoy all of this with me. Unilocalers, you gotta help me out with that one!

Absolutely delicious gelato and with a choice of a fresh baked mini cookie on the side! My go to is usually the green tea, but Kuni’s has been buying the tubs for the week so I have been forced to eat the salted caramel gelato. Daarrnnn. Kim, who makes the cookies, gelato, and other delicious concoctions you find in the front also does the fantastic paintings you see hanging around the store. This place is gold.
