When I first entered college, I knew nothing about how to apply for aid and apply for a college loan. Neither of my parents went to college either and didn’t have the means to put me through school, so they didn’t know how the financial aid system worked. Chris, who runs the operation had very little contact, except through mail that he sent me at my parents’ address. After meeting with him once, I still have not seen him again. In addition to this, he has not actually told me where he went to take out my loans or how much was actually taken out. On more than a few occasions I told him that I didn’t want any more taken out than what needed to be, but I still got a refund those semesters, meaning he disregarded this request(for some unknown reason). I only got a picture of what I owe on my loans after I directly asked him what I owe and where to. I sincerely believe I would owe less in student loans if I did not go through him. If you’re not sure what your’e doing when it comes to loans and financial aid, talk to the financial aid office at your college and take initiative for yourself. You’ll be better off in the end, and you’ll know what your doing if you send kids to college in the future.
