The cookies here are delish but sadly they closed their brick and motor storefront. However they still take orders and provide catering services. Keep them in mind for your upcoming holiday parties. While they were still active at the 218 Grant location, they had a rotating menu. I was lucky enough to devour the pine nut, nutella, pizza bread, and other cookies I can’t remember specifically other than they tasted heavenly. :) You can see what they are up to or any one day«pop up» storefronts they sell at through FB, .

So. Much. Goodness!!! The owner is extremely pleasant and helpful. She’ll answer your questions all day long! So many fresh cookies and baked goods. The dough is soft and airy and delightful. They sell out of many goodies quickly because of the high quality. A tip: They also sell day-old goods for a fraction of the cost… and they are just as good! Go grab a coffee at Sweetness 7, and roam next door to this petite, still unknown treasure!

This was not a planned visit however it turned out to be a very tasty end to a lovely morning. Hubby had the day off so we headed out to our fav west side spots. Started out at Spars(thank God I brought a knife with me since liebekasse is so much better sliced than ripped off in chunks, for the ride home, you know) headed off to Guercio’s for some Luigi’s bread to go with liebekasse and then realised B. Ferrante’s was right down the street. Dessert! The shop is tiny however tastfully put together. Owner is extremely helpful. Now we get to the good stuff — SWEETS! My oh my what a lovely array of delightful tongue teasers. Started out with an asparagus/cheese focaccia(easily ripped and eaten, no need for a knife) followed by the biggest freaking cuccidati I have ever laid eyes on. To nicely round things off we completed our purchases with an almond/cherry loaf. The quality is exceptional. My mother in law(deceased many years now) made the best cuccidati I have ever had, until now that it. This cookie involves a very time consuming creation process and not too many bakers will bother. This place is so cute, the goods are so tasty and the atmosphere so very French, I think anyway. I’ll be back, maybe next Friday. Another Godzilla cuccidati in my future.

This is lovely little bakery on Grant Street. I stopped in to buy a plate of cookies for a family gathering. I sampled about five or six different cookies and enjoyed them all– especially the lemon Madeleines and the double chocolate biscotti. Supposedly, they serve honey and lavender Madeleines on Saturdays. This alone may be worth a second trip! My only suggestion would be for the bakery to improve and expand upon its offerings. There is a small case or two of baked goods at the front of the store. I would like to have seen a greater variety of cookies, pastries, and savory pies, especially since I spent so much time on their Facebook page planning for my visit! When I arrived, I was a bit disappointed by the limited selection. Still, I would rather have fewer choices and fresh cookies than more choices and stale cookies. Hopefully, if all goes well, there will be more sweets to sample in the months to come.

I was here for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. I was impressed with how simple the displays were inside but they were perfect for the space. The sales woman was friendly and super helpful. I was looking for some gluten free options for my boyfriend and she was very knowledgeable about them. My boyfriend ordered a «buckeye» which is some type of peanut butter and chocolate confection. He really enjoyed it and probably wishes he had about 10 more. They were very inexpensive and it was nice that he was able to eat something that came out of a bakery. He also tried the fudge and gave it an okay review. Next time, I will be sure to try these for myself. For my choices, I sampled the lemon, orange and vanilla Italian cookies. I’m not a big fan of Italian cookies so I’m not sure why I picked these, but they were probably the most moist Italian cookie I have ever eaten. The flavor in the orange and lemon cookie was very subtle and I had wished it was a little stronger. I had expected the vanilla cookie to be the same but it had much more flavor than the fruit varieties. I will definitely go back here. This would be a perfect place to pick up a tray of cookies for a family gathering. There were other things that I wanted to try but I didn’t. Other things that caught my eye were a fresh fruit tart — only $ 2 a piece, some mini loaves of sweet breads including one completely covered in a variety of seeds and a freshly made focaccia, Even if the product would have been bad on my first visit I would have given it another shot solely because the service was so spectacular.
