I think this place is geared toward drunk, partygoers who are looking for late night snacks. I came here on a Saturday night about 11PM with my friends. I ordered one plain slice, initially hoping to have pineapple on it. The server however, told me that if I wanted pineapple it would be cold. Um, where do they do that? Why would you even offer someone that? I declined. My slice was cold and unappetizing. Reminded me of school lunch pizza or Ellios. I wonder how«warm» their display case warmer is because it obviously did nothing for me. I have tried the vegan pizza and it is not bad. My friend ordered a slice as well with a drink. I’ve never seen a pizza shop that didn’t have fountain drinks or straws, neither of them were here. As I sat in the shop sulking about my bad pizza, I looked across at Jim’s Steak-out wishing I had choose them… even they have fountain drinks :-(I would not recommend this place, won’t be returning either.

If you think this is good pizza your expectations are super low. Even when I’m lucky enough to score a fresh slice, it’s a disappointment. The majority of the time it’s one step up from cardboard. They should have more pride in their product, and not serve slices that have been sitting out and are stale. I think the only thing keeping them in business is their location and hours. What a bummer.

I first tried Allentown Pizza right when they opened. I didn’t like it. Now, some time later, I tried it again. The pizza has pretty much no flavoring to it and could be cooked a little longer in the oven. The pepperoni wasn’t crispy around the edges, and the crust was still pretty white on the underside. I’d skip it, but if you really have a hankering for pizza and don’t want to give up your parking spot, walk on over.

The pizza here is mediocre, but at least edible for the most part. It’s in a great location, so I’m sure it does well. I tried the vegan pizza and it was severely disappointing. Nothing has flavor and it ends up being kind of gamey in the crust texture. It’s strange, but not something I have any craving or desire to eat in the near future. They do have nice specials, it seems, so good for a cheap slice and soda. But, with other options on Allen, it should be easy to go somewhere else.

I’m pretty jazzed about the fact that they have vegan pizza… and it isn’t the vegan pizza that other places around Buffalo have. It isn’t something that you have to order off-menu or alter. They actually seem to get it! I’ve tried the BBQ seitan pizza, which is my favorite, the white pizza which is also great(the balsamic!) and the Buffalo wing pizza, which I was a bit disappointed with. I also like that this place is open late and that they have vegan pizza by the slice – except I’ve noticed that they often run out at night. Parking isn’t great, but that’s to be expected. I’ve had multiple experiences in which I’ve gone in to hear people arguing and shouting at one another – to the point where I haven’t felt safe picking up my food(and I’m not talking like, midnight on a Saturday – more like Sunday around dinner hour). I’m not sure if it’s the location or due to something related to the business. It’s kind of a bummer. I like their pizza, so I still order, but I dart in to pick it up and then take off before I get caught in the middle of anything too weird.

We had problems with our old go-to pizza joint in town. We had a menu from AP and decided we might as well try a new place. They are super nice and really try to be pleasant. The pizza is delicious with a super heavy(but not overbearing) crust. Do it!

Pizza consistently underachieves in quality and taste. Always cold and rarely fresh. Clearly tailored to the 4AM intoxicated weekend crowd. Also, there are no restrooms — does this even qualify as a restaurant if it doesn’t have a bathroom? Pretty sure there has to be a rule about needing restrooms for a place to qualify as a restaurant, but I may be wrong…

Pizza is actually really delicious! Light crust and not too greasy unlike other local pizzerias. Best part is you can order a slide late night next door

I stopped by here around 2pm on my day off. I was starving so I got two slices(pepperoni and cheese, and plain cheese slice) and a gingerale. Their special is $ 5.95 for two slices and a soda, seems pretty reasonable to me. However I was sadly disappointed by my first bite. Now keep in mind, I was starving and when you’re starving, even the mildly good things taste amazing. My cheese slice was like warm at best. I think the sauce was a bit sweet which I did not mind but it was disappointing that it was not hot. To be fair, the pizza came out of one of those table top ovens that’s heated with a lightbulb so I should not have expected anything crazy hot. I was pleasantly surprised by the pepperoni slice which is why I am rating this two stars instead of one. The pepperoni pie must have been made more recently because my slice was much hotter. The pepperoni size was small but what I liked was that they did not curl upward collecting little pools of oil. They stayed flat on the cheese! The bottom of my slice was extremely greasy though so I had to wipe it off a bit. The décor overall is simple and with a prime location such as elmwood and Allen, I would have expected higher quality pizza. However, then again, I am sure this place gets heavy traffic due to the late night scene so maybe they don’t need to try nearly as hard. I was curious about their began pineapple and BBQ chikn slice but was too hungry to try something new. I doubt I will be heading back here for another try but now that I have had it, I can cross it off my list! Keep in mind there is no bathroom at this pizzeria… kind of ridiculous in my opinion.

If it was Alun-key Pizza then it would be gross, hard, metallic, and you’d lose teeth trying to eat it. If it were Aluminium Pizza, it would be the same experience, basically. If it were Alumni Pizza, it would be full of college kids. Oh wait… it is. Ooh. Let me submit it as a name-change proposal. Speaking of proposals. This is where my boyfriend first asked me to marry him. Which is why he’s not my boyfriend anymore. It’s a perfectly good slice, it’s tasty, it’s average in price, taste, texture, and it’s fairly large. In a town with wonderful Pizza like Buffalo, it’s hard for me to really appreciate a slice like this, and I’ll probably never eat it again. Just down the road are the amazing Chuck’s and Casa-Di-Pizza, so Allentown would really only be an emergency slice stop, if anything. The employees seem to be Middle Eastern, but they do a decent job making Buffalo style pizza, and I liked that spices and condiments were all over the counter to jazz up the slices. Additionally, the place was full of cute drunk girls, which I’m sure was nice for them. The employees, I mean. And the girls, probably. I’m not interested in drunk girls though. Call me strange, but romancing an intoxicated person that doesn’t know what they are doing would leave me feeling morally bankrupt. As someone who doesn’t drink, it’s just not my thing. Speaking of things that Americans do a lot, why do you guys spell«Aluminium» as «Aluminum.» Seriously, every other element has«ium» at the end, and in English, it’s Aluminium. Who changed it and why? I feel like someone made a spelling mistake way back in the day and it stuck. So yeah. Not the best pizza in town, but worth a try if you want pizza and are in the area and CDP already closed. My that’s a lot of caveats.

We’ve only had pizza from here once, it was a delivery. There’s a lot I liked about this pizza. The dough was fluffy and well cooked. The cheese had a chewy substance to it, in contrast to many that are just rubbery. The sauce wasn’t too sweet. So why three stars? The pizza was salty, really salty. It was a cheese and peperoni, so it might have been from the peperoni. It was overwhelming. I want to try them again with toppings that don’t add salt and see. I have to give a shout out to the delivery guy, he was great.

I thought the food was decent but over priced. The worst part is their service. The big dude covered with tattoos who takes the orders late night is a huge DICK. First he got mad because I interrupted his sexting session by placing an order and then when I wanted to use a coupon from the menu he got really pissed. It was sad, yet funny to watch. How dare he get pissed off. I’m giving you business which covers your pay check. If their piss poor attitude doesn’t change, I feel they’ll be closing for good.

Clearly this place needs and injection of how to treat your customers. I see by the other reviews they have pissed off a lot of people. I had zero expectations when I went into this place so it would be hard to be let down. The place is lacking in everything, no prize for first impressions. I’m getting the feeling that no one in buffalo really cares. The food. The pizza looked frightening, it is hard to get good pizza anywhere, buffalo is the same. I ordered the buffalo style chicken wings and they were truly amazing. Absolutely loved them and would go back again. Im not from buffalo but will be visiting from time to time over the next few weeks. If someone knows a better place for wings I would be interested.

I’ve been here twice now in the last week. Both times I had the vegan white pizza and I can’t get that damn balsamic reduction out of my mind. The first time I came I had –ahem– a little too much to drink. I wolfed my two slices down without taking the time to appreciate my food. This time I would say the pizza was probably sitting out too long as it was difficult to chew. My friend said the same about her cheese and pepperoni slice. I wish they’d put a mirror on the wall… something…anything. It has an unfinished feel to it. I’ve been to my fair share of dirty, delicious pizza joints and I LOVE them, but at least they make me feel comfortable in their mess. Both times I’ve been in and when I’m walking by I’ve noticed no one is actually inside but the employees. I want Allentown Pizza to do well! I’m going to give them another shot. It’s not that fair to judge a place based solely on their individual slices. As another reviewer said«keep trying»!

Touted by owners Joe and Frank Mahiques as «bringing a totally different vibe» to Allentown, I’d say that’s true. I’d say that Allentown deserves better. ATMOSPHERE — I visited with Joe while the restaurant was under construction and his vision of the corner venue sounded great. However, it seems lost in translation for the former owner of Evangola Pizza. The interior is rather Spartan and uninspiring. The menu contains many items located at other pizza, wing, finger and sub venues just about anywhere. FOOD — On the plus side, Allentown Pizza’s ‘no additive’ dough is nice. Their Vegan options are also in-demand items. *I really enjoy their Vegan Pizza. I love the balsamic reduction flavor and thin crust. On the negative side, they salt their subs. I ordered a simple turkey half-sub(let, tom, mayo, no cheese) and it tasted ‘very’ salty. I asked: «Do you salt your subs?» And the counter person checked with the sub station who said«Yes, we salt our subs.» There seemed to be a *long* moment of silence where I felt there was an obvious comment coming. Where I expected«Was your sub too salty?», I witnessed only silence. Customer service ‘will’ make or break a restaurant. Allentown Pizza has an opportunity here to make improvements and become much better. To do that, you first have to listen to your customers. Keep trying guys.

Tried two cheese slices and if I weren’t starving I would’ve thrown the pizza out. The pizza tastes like a really bad box pizza. Looks like, and tastes like a box pizza I microwaved. And it cost me about 2 something a slice. Terrible. Do not do this to yourself.

How many ways to count the fail? 1) Product. We’re talking Catholic school cafeteria-served, hairnet wearing lunch lady-served pizza product here. The crust of the pizza here is fine, unremarkable. The cheese barely registers any actual dairy flavor.(I am reminded of three-year-old Alex stuffing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle body parts into his mouth.) The sauce is overly sweet, sickeningly sweet. The toppings are utterly untreated. How about marinating your vegetables? How about adding a bit of spice to your meats?(This is, for example, Bocce Pizza’s most notable feature. The mushrooms they use, the pepperoni, the sausage are so well treated that I often wonder if I couldn’t pick them off the tops of the pizza and leave the rest of it for the suckers I’m dining with.) In very close proximity, Chuck’s on North and Just Pizza both do much better. 2) Atmosphere. It would be KIND to call Allentown Pizza a hole in the wall. Significantly less effort has been put into developing any kind of atmosphere at Allentown Pizza than almost any hole in the wall I have patronized here, in New York, in Osaka, in Los Angeles, in Decatur, Georgia. There at least, pictures of the pope, of someone’s grandmother, else fake plants or Christmas lights provide some sort of ambiance, some kind of charm. The atmosphere as currently developed… it looks like they’re ready to skidaddle at a moment’s notice. It’s tables and chairs. 3) Prices. The prices at Allentown Pizza are ridiculous. On returning to my pad with their menu, I compared their prices item to item to that of Chuck’s on North and found Allentown more expensive on each and every item, with Just Pizza better on many items. 10 wings? $ 7.19(CN) vs. $ 8.55(JP) vs. $ 8.95(AP). 50 wings? $ 25.99(CN) vs. $ 28.18(AP) vs. 34.80(JP). Party pack of pizza and wings? $ 45.99(CN) vs. $ 49.80(AP). One slice? $ 1.99(CN) vs. $ 2.25(AP) vs. $ 2.30(JP). These differences in price would be fine, given location, were it not for the fact that Chuck’s on North, for all intents and purposes, is in exactly the same neighborhood and serves a higher quality product. Just Pizza is more expensive on some items, but no one in Buffalo thinks pizza and says, «Oh, let’s get Just Pizza!» So maybe Allentown Pizza is designed to serve drunks. That’s fine. So is Jim’s SteakOut. It looks nicer, provides better product. So are so many West 4th Street establishments in Manhattan or izakayas in Tokyo. They look nicer, have better food. Most galling to me about Allentown Pizza is that its stated goals and its reality are so shockingly different. In a Buffalo Rising article released just prior to its opening, the owner stated, «This will not look like your typical pizzeria in town. It’s going to be warm and it’s going to have character. We want people to come in and sit down. It’s going have the same sort of appeal that you would have seen from a restaurant in the 30s and 40s… old school.» The establishment was said to be more akin to Cantina Loco. Let me ask you… does any of that sound like Allentown Pizza? No. Fail, fail, fail, fail. So save your money and go somewhere else that offers better food. Or spend marginally more, significantly more, somewhat more to get a better product. This place ain’t worth it from any place I stand. NOTE: Currently cash only

Vegan Pizza! They have vegan pizza! I stopped in with hubs to get a slice when we saw this place was open. I didn’t expect them to have something for me but they did. They had vegan white pizza slices — tomato, onion, balsamic drizzle, herb crust and vegan cheese that looks just like Daiya. The flavors all went well together and I didn’t get an overwhelming Daiya flavor. The crust was thin and crispy and light. They also have a BBQ pineapple seitan pizza on the menu which I will have to order sometime. A large vegan pizza is $ 18 and change. A slice is $ 2.70. Regular slice is $ 2.25. Hubs described his pizza as Bocce-style. It wasn’t thin crust but it wasn’t super bready either. The place has been completely remodeled with the kitchen now in the back instead of in the front window. It’s not fancy — just the kind if place you would get a slice at 2am. They are cash only for the moment.
