WOW the pizza was delicious. My honey and I ordered 14″ the veggies, meat, sauce, cheese were so yummy and fresh! I’m very impressed for a small town! I love Buena Vista and I’ll definitely recommend pizza works to all my friends! Thank you we will be back

Very happy with this pizza place. We like the Veggie Supreme pizza. Clean, plenty of room, plus they deliver! We’ve never had the lunch special or by-the-slice — just a whole fresh pizza.

We went to Pizza Works for the lunch special, slice and soda for $ 5. The pizza slices they had available had what we would term as get rid of toppings. There was artichoke, mushroom and jalepenos etc., We asked if there was any with meat and they said there was one. I took that one but there was so little meat it didn’t matter. They just joked that ha, ha, we wanted Meat? They did decide to put in another pizza after we took our two slices. We decided to give them another chance and went in and ordered a fresh made Tropical pizza. It was really too expensive for the product we received. The extra cheese actually caused the pizza to be runny in the middle. Not very appetizing. We were still hungry after we ate this pizza so we went across the street to the new Love’s convenience store and just for fun ordered a mini combo Godfathers pizza. It was delicious. Love’s may not have the ambiance that we like to enjoy at a locally owned pizzeria but it definitely had great pizza. Sorry PIzza works, Gave you two tries and you failed them both.

This place used to be sooooo yummy. Ever since they shut down and reopened its a pretty big disappointment. Maybe I came in on an off day. First, we were the only people in there. Not a good sign but hopes of pizzas past drew us in. We ordered their«deluxe» but specifically asked for no onion. This was repeated 4 times between ourselves, and the cook. We also ordered 2 slices from their lunch special and fried mushrooms. 45 minutes in, we finally get our pizza. And it has onions. So, the chef brings us a slice of pepperoni and says sorry that he forgot. At this point we asked about the mushrooms we had ordered. Turns out those were forgotten too. In an empty restaurant. 15 min later those showed up on our table. So customer service is lacking. Now taste. Pizza works used to be soooo good. But this pizza tasted like a stale cracker with spaghetti sauce and some questionable cheese on top. I’ve probably had better pizza ordering from chains like dominos or Pizza Hut. And for the price tag, we could have gotten much better food somewhere else. Hopefully they get it together, or else they probably won’t last long. An update: all members of our party are now sick. As this is is the only common food we are, we believe it could be the culprit… Would not recommend.

Great tasting pizza. Clean place, great natural light and family décor. Awesome lunch specials. Pizza slices are large and very tasty. The pepperoni slice I had filled me up. I usually get two slices but the slice here was plenty. Fresh ingredients and cooked just right makes this an awesome place to stop in. They also deliver. Some may say pizza is pizza. Not here. They take pride in their product and it shows in the end result.

To be fair, the pizza is good. Thin crust, quality ingredients, rich sauce. The salad and home made ranch are also solid. They don’t serve beer, which wasn’t a big deal to me a non-drinker, but it seemed very odd for a pizza joint. They don’t take credit cards. Unacceptable in this day and age. And the place isn’t cheap. Go get a square. $ 40 for a pizza, salad and two soft drinks and you don’t take plastic? They’ll be back out of business soon. Service, well, isn’t. Even I’d dining in, paper plates, clear your own table, etc. but they have a tip jar!

I never completed this review from a couple months ago, sorry Pizza Works! I go here every year, twice if I can, during any time in Buena Vista. Their pizza is awesome. Made the old-fashioned way they are generous with ingredients for a decent price. We usually get the pepperoni and veggie pizzas. Their dining area is very modest and they could use another staff person to keep up with the tables faster. I am sad to see that this place closed and I hope they open somewhere else in BV in the near future!

So excited to try the Pizza here. Called to inquire and received no answer. Went by the next day and all the windows were papered over. We guess they are closed… for good

The slice of pizza I had was OK. When we walked in we did not know whether to sit down or order at the cash register. Store seemed understaffed with 2 people handling orders and baking pizzas. Place would have been more chaotic with a few more young children. Selection of both beer and soda was mass market. And forget about deep dish at this place! Better choices for pizza are in nearby Salida.

I went back to Colorado to visit my parents and we ordered a pizza from Pizza Works one night. The only way to describe the pizza was burned and beat to sh! t. I like pizza but not enough to eat something that looked like it had been left in the desert sun for a week and then dragged through the mud before being boxed up.

Used to be the first thing we did when we got here but last couple times they seem to be lacking in service. Wait on the phone forever if they actually answer. Takes too long to get a pizza for pick up. Think we’re moving on.

Really enjoyed our two pizzas. We had a Meat Lovers and an Italian and they were enormous and incredibly tasty. Fantastic sauce and ingredients(although it would be better if they distributed the ground toppings more evenly), and they got the crust just right. Decent service but nothing ground-breaking. We’ll be back whenever we travel through Buena Vista.

This was my go to pizza joint for my yearly camping trip up in Cottonwood Pass. It was a Saturday night at 7pm(late July, peak of tourist season). My group had done a seven mile hike earlier in the day and we were famished. We showed up and the place was about half full and the aroma was mouthwatering. We approached the hostess stand and asked where to sit and were promptly told that they were closed. Needless to say, our minds were blown. The place was staffed by a bunch of high school age kids, and I’m sure they were eager to be elsewhere, but 7pm on a Saturday night during peak tourist season? I hope the owner reads this and realizes his employees threw away at least $ 100 tab.

Customer service was terrible for dining in. We weren’t told that a lot of carry out pizzas were ahead of us. We waited an hour and found out the pizza wasn’t even made yet. We insisted on getting our money back and left.

This was a few doors down from where I was staying. I decided to dine in. You order at the counter and then seat yourself. Fountain drinks are self served with Coca Cola products. The atmosphere was okay. There were two things I didn’t like. The long wait time of 35 minutes when this place wasn’t very busy. Second the pizza crust was hard and thin and burnt on the outside. The sauce and ingredients were very good. I don’t get what the great ratings were about. This place has a lot of potential, but the staff working in the back need some serious training by management and/or the owners. Next time I will likely order from Dominos instead.

Been eating here for several summers. Always been happy until this last trip. They’e changed the beef on pizza to something very crumbly and messy to eat. Should go back to chunks and maybe put toppings on with cheese on over all.

Based on Unilocal reviews we gave this a shot yesterday and they didn’t disappoint. It was a bit more«hole in the wall» Than anticipated but our kids loved it and there was a good mix of locals and tourists. The food took a little longer than expected but the staff were friendly. The garlic cheesy bread alone was worth the drive and the meat lovers was generous. Their happy hour $ 5 pitchers of beer is a great value, though I didn’t partake yesterday.

I’m really surprised to see this place so highly rated. It’s average at best. Staff seemed in different. The atmosphere is laid back but kind of shabby in a not so cool way. If people think this is some of the best pizza they’ve had then perhaps they consider chains like Dominoes and Pizza Hut good. Frankly, I don’t think the quality matches the price. There’s nothing special about this place and I think there are plenty of other places in BV that are a better value with a nicer feel atmosphere.
