I purchased their package of 10 facials for $ 700 after a huge disappointment at my previous skincare business. The reason for me coming here was because they included scaling and IPL with the facial, which especially for the latter, is usually a procedure charged separately if you go to a dermatologist(then again, «MD’s» always overcharge). Christine, the owner, also guaranteed that my skin would improve significantly and my acne would nearly be gone after ten times. My first facial met all of my expectations of cleansing, scaling, massage, extractions, and IPL, which took about 2 hours. I went once a week as recommended, and my skin’s overall tone seemed to be looking healthier after about four times. After that, however, I didn’t notice much difference, contrary to what Christine had said about seeing results each week. And so initiated the beginning of my doubt and critique, as I paid careful attention to each facial. The scaling had already stopped after just the first facial. I asked her about this, but she basically said it isn’t good to do it too often, which I agreed upon. Until she stopped the scaling absolutely. The IPL, after four times, was also stopped because my acne was getting better. This honestly conflicted with my perception of IPL’s effectiveness and purpose of usage. I mean, isn’t IPL supposed to help with pigmentation and scars? So why stop just because acne decreased with extractions? I questioned this as well, but it didn’t go through her, and so I just stuck with her fallible regimen. After about the 6th time, my skin started having a very sensitive reaction to the products I bought from the place, my cheeks becoming inflamed. I went back when this happened without an appointment, and she put a mask on my face to cool and calm it down. Because this happened multiple times, I was afraid to continue with the facials because of how sensitive my skin had become, so I held off on them and recently went for my 8th and 9th time. From Christine’s perspective, my acne had gotten worse because of the longer gaps I had between my facials, but I was pretty upset that the better results I reaped in the beginning of the program didn’t last. I was actually more content when she considered my acne worse, because that’s the only time she’ll shoot the IPL. I’m nearing the end of this 10-time program, and looking back I’m not quite satisfied. It would’ve been better if she actually took the time to take a look at my skin condition before each facial to modify or adjust the steps instead of completely stopping certain procedures. She and her massage assistants also talk about how other clients have cleared their acne with her skincare after generally only 6 times, but I would probably have to come in another 10 times for similar results. If this is the case, then I’m afraid she may say the same thing after the second round of ten facials, and I’d just be putting $ 700 down for something without benefits. I guess I could have given them four stars, but I’m more critical than generous, and will have to see with how they wrap up my program after the tenth time.
