You know when you have a great meal or a great experience and you can’t wait to go back… and when you finally do… it’s never the same. This was the case at the Budd Lake Diner… because it was EVENBETTER. I just love this place. The food is consistently great. I travel a lot so I had not been there in quite some time but the owners recognized me and welcomed me like an old friend. They even introduced me to their daughter. She introduced me to her husband whom I immediately recognized as an actor from a 90’s sitcom. This is a family restaurant that treats its customers like family. Portions were huge. The Greek salad was a real Greek salad with dolma and feta… the Greeks invented that. I had a Turkey Burger that was terrific. I was stuffed but make room for the homemade cheese cake. OMG. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

I love this diner!!! I began going here every Sunday with my grandfather when I was about 5 years old. Once I entered high school, I started going here with all my friends. The chicken fingers are my absolute favorite and their cheesecake is unrivaled. What I love most though is their helpfulness; if you are ever not happy with your food the staff is more than happy to help in any way they can. Highly recommend this place!

Huge fan of their disco fries. I literally get them at least 3 times a week after work. There breakfast foods are good too. But I highly suggest ordering their disco fries if you go there. If not your 100% missing out.

Been going to the BLD for 30+ years. Never had a bad meal in all those years. It’s like going to a family meal. We now live down the jersey shore and we miss the diner… but every chance we get when we are up north we stop in to say hello and have a meal! You will never be disappointed and if you are they will go out of their way to make it right!

It’s just another Jersey diner. Oh wait, a Jersey diner… that’s cool. There is nothing special to write about a diner, because they all have that same extensive menu that makes you wonder how big the food cooler is in the back. However, if you go here, you will get good service where they treat like their neighbor, so hey… if you want diner food… hit this spot!

Amazing! Every time my wife and I go there or pick up food I am surprised how consistently fresh their food is. Veal parm was one of my favorites. I actually heard the cook or chef pound the veal Scallopini per my order. Patty melt rocked too! Their cheesecake is also homemade and the best around. It is never dry. Great place and highly recommended. Going there now :)

Awesome food, great no-frills service and fun diner atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the eggs Benedict, subbing Taylor ham for the Canadian bacon. Served with a huge portion of home fries. Coffee is always great too.

Budd Diner is a great place to dine when we arrived we were greeted by a friendly host then a terrific waitress that made us feel like guest. The breakfast was very good and everything arrived fast and hot! The food was delicious for our breakfast selections. Coffee was refilled without asking. Breakfast is one of our favorite meals of the day and the Western Omelette and oatmeal are basic and if cooked right you know the kitchen knows what it doing. Anyway, a great place to eat with a great staff to serve you! Try it! We returned the next day for breakfast and once again the service and food were great!

Awesome breakfasts! You’re gonna wait a while to sit and parking is a pain during peak times. Service is fast despite every table occupied. Worth the wait though!

It’s just so awesome I can’t stand this. They are the most lovely Greek family who are adorable, funny and friendly. We had consistently fast service — and when it comes to my coffee cup being filled, feet don’t fail you. Just to be difficult, I had breakfast and everyone else had lunch. All our meals came out hot and tasty. Very very good and I loved our server. We talked about Greece and the elections. It’s wonderful to eat where the food is good, the coffee is great and there’s actual personalities.

We stopped for breakfast on our way from NYC to Rochester. I had a perfectly constructed omelette, with ham, tomato, mushrooms, onions, and Swiss cheese. The cook even added some garlic as requested. My husband’s French toast was deliciously light, and we recommend the Taylor ham. The service was excellent, and the diner was a short hop from I-80.

I just had the delicious«Bud Lake Diner Salad» with grilled salmon. Also has sliced strawberries radicchio mango spinach tomatoes romaine lettuce cucumber thinly sliced red onion fête cheese in a balsamic vinegerette. My wife had cheese omelet with rye toast. The omelet was good sized. Never had a problem there with food. The owners are there to greet you. Very friendly!

A solid diner experience. The service is always good with friendly familiar people. The food here is better than most, but nothing too crazy for a diner of course. If you go here you must get the disco fries! On the menu they are fries with mozzarella cheese and gravy but the servers will always know what you’re talking about. Great place for breakfast and late night food(especially since it’s one of the only places in town open all night). After moving out of NJ this is one of the few places I really miss.

This place got MUCH more expensive than it use to be. I haven’t been here in a while and found that getting a triple decker sandwich with fries shouldn’t have to cost me almost $ 13+ when I can go elsewhere and spend much less for a decent sandwich. Too much a la cart for my liking. Bring an extra credit card with you if you intend on dining here.

Over the years only have had breakfast at Budd Lake diner. Bottom line: *Coffee is good *Eggs over easy comes out fine but the Thumans sausage which used to be grilled is now being deep fried. This is faster way to prepare but it kills the juicy tasty sausage and makes it dry and hard. * Waffles are nicely prepared * Service while friendly is slow * New menu bringing increased prices with it No longer my #1 go to place for breakfast…
