Outstanding sandwiches, I had the #5 sloppy Joe, corn beef and pastrami. I couldn’t only eat half. Best that i can remember

Their Italian sub is absolutely delicious! Nice portion size – they are so generous with their fresh ingredients. Definitely the best in the neighborhood. I just had one today and I’m craving another one already!

This is a lovely quiet little place right by Budd lake. I’ve had their sandwich for a long time now and never have once did it fail me! Sloppy Joe is top notch(i live in manhattan and haven’t had a better sandwich) and italian sub is my absolute favorite. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing afternoon on weekends(or weekdays) with a good sandwich in your hands(if it fits in your hands) by the lake, this little deli is a must try!

I really like this place. You feel welcome when ordering and they have great sandwiches at decent prices. They are always very kind and appreciate your patronage. The sandwiches are always made to order and huge. I’d be giving them 5 stars — but the place is a bit grimy and dirty. I’m sure all food is prepared in a sanitary manner — but the place seriously needs a good scrubbing.

On the way up to a hike up at the Delaware Water Gap, I got hungry(what else is new?). We went to Unilocal and found this random sandwich shop. Walking in the place place was a bit grimy but exceptionally clean. This isn’t an Italian deli, this is just some random sandwich spot. I decided to go simple and went with the #10: turkey, roasted red peppers and motz. The half sandwich and a diet coke came out to close to $ 10. What? I get legendary sandwiches in Hoboken twice the size for less. Whatever, hopefully it’s delicious. The sandwich was fresh tasting but the motz had no flavor, the bread was chewy and a bit stale, but I’ll give it up, the deli turkey definitely tasted fresh. Overall, the sandwich definitely was pretty tasteless and I didn’t even finish it, I always finish it. I don’t know the neighborhood, so I’m unaware of local sandwich competition, but for a turkey sandwich I’d keep on moving or make it at home, definitely not worth the moola.

I live in a town outside of Atlantic City called Galloway. There is a deli there called Pitney Italian Market. To say the least, I’m spoiled. Homemade everything and made fresh almost everyday because if you come in too late, you’re liable to not get what you want. You can get a variety of subs(about 30% larger than BJ’s) with a soda for $ 4.50. At BJ’s, my sausage was prepared in a microwave and I payed $ 9.25 for a sub and soda. I’m giving BJ’s a rating of three stars because despite it not being as fresh as I’m used to the sandwich was good. The sausage had good flavor and the sauce was savory and sweet. Also the owner was very friendly and enthusiastic about serving me. I will say, I feel sorry for the people of Budd Lake if BJ’s is their standard for a quality deli. A spot like this should be sitting at three stars at best. If any of you are ever visiting Atlantic City, take 20 min and head to Galloway and visit Pitney Italian Market, you won’t be sorry.

My husband and I love this place. As an earlier reviewer mentioned, they will customize a sandwich for you if you don’t see something you like. My husband always orders the same thing, so they now have a sandwich they call the«Big Jim Turkey». The owners are friendly as can be. It is a little expensive, but they’re by far the best sandwiches you’ll get in NJ.

my most favoritest deli in new jersey, so good i had to make up a word to describe it. it’s owned by a cute asian couple who can customize any order and create it with a smile. cons: a little on the expensive side, but you definitely get what you pay for. also, there’s very little space to sit, but if you do sit, prepared to smell like grease the rest of the day. better alternative: take your ‘wich to go and head across the street to budd lake for a serene picnic. try the pizzasteak sandwich. it will change your life. open only for lunch 6 days a week.
