This is definitely a great little shop just a block from the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College. Plenty of street parking, some free WiFi(you have to ask for the password), a nice spacious table to set down and do some work. This would be a great location to start your mornings. You can pick up some locally generated food stuffs and crafts as well. First the coffee, they serve freshly roasted, ground and poured over coffee that was locally roasted by Mountain Roasters in Buckhannon. This is a fantastic way to start your day off properly caffeinated and flavored. Ask for the Ethopia Yergecheffe, it’s dark and delicious. They also do a cold brew Ice Coffee; which their choice of coffee is perfect, no need for sugar or cream. It’s a perfect blend of flavor. Second the bakery, DRM bakes everything fresh in house and focuses on using local and organic ingredients. You get both the environmental advantages of organic and knowledge that all of your money is staying as close to as possible Buckhannon. And that’s only second to the taste. The currant scones are fantastic, perfect scone texture and just enough flavor to pair with your coffee/tea. We had a the chancy to try the DRM hallmark«puffin», which is a pie in muffin form. I was able to have one the blueberry and one of the strawberry puffins. They were excellent, the filling is just sweet enough and the flaky crust is buttery and delicious. They’ve started offering some great granola bars too. So, grab a nice hearty snack on your way out! Oh, and while you’re at it, take home some freshly baked boule(ball of bread). It makes some great french toast at home. We got some wheat boule and it made great sandwiches to enjoy at home. Definitely think DRM when you looking for a local bakery with great coffee.
