Mount Airy, NC
Quaint, quiet, and super clean, this older establishment is exceptionally maintained. Our room faced the river — a beautiful view — but at night, we left the windows open and listened to the river. Absolute heaven! Great location with easy access to many surrounding areas. We loved the porches with rockers and gliders, which encourage guests to relax and «sit a spell.» Our only complaint was the sound between the rooms. You could hear everything from the other rooms, but fortunately, our neighbors were quiet so not an issue for us. Considered yourself warned. The rooms have a fridge, microwave and toaster, which is great for in-​the-​room snacking and small meals. Compared to the sterile, dime a dozen hotel chains, this is an adorable place with charm and character at a great rate.

Nothing fancy, but rooms were clean and staff was friendly. This place caters to bikers and there were lots of them there. They were not rowdy, but I wasn’t a fan of their smoking and drinking. Very convenient to GSMR, which was nice since we were there for a train ride. But this is not a place for families, especially those with small children.

Not sure where the great reviews coming from — unless you’re a biker. The owner is courteous and helpful, BUT, you might as well be sharing your room with the next two rooms down, and when they woke us up at 2:30 am probably returning from the casino, we heard every word of every conversation. The room needed a major update, looked like it hadn’t been changed since the 70’s, not. a «quaint» look either. Yes, a bikers haven, and they roared all night too. Didn’t appreciate the owners wife calling our dogs «things» either. Pet-​friendly or just biker friendly?

Booked this having found it on Trip Advisor — we wanted to be near enough to the Smoky Mountains. Gizmo is friendly, and we felt completely at ease and welcome when we arrived. We’re travelling with 2 small boys (4 & 7yrs) and they were able to rush off and shoot hoops while we unpacked. It’s retro, it’s clean, it’s got everything you need for a good nights sleep.

After a day of riding motorcycles in the rain, we decided to skip camping and get a warm and dry place to stay. Bikers welcome under the vacancy sign is all we needed to make our decision to stay here. The Two Rivers Lodge is a great value and the rooms were perfect to dry off our gear, get a hot shower and have a dry place to sleep. We enjoyed our stay so much we came back at tail end of our trip for another night. The rooms were impeccably clean and well maintained. The motel is run by a family and they were very friendly and helpful to make sure that we were taken care of. I would stay here again, rain or shine.
