This place is amazing. It is a restored 1920s hotel with lots of charm and comforts. The bathtub and shower are amazing. The bed is so comfortable and sitting out on the second story porch during the rain is a memory I hope not to forget. I stopped here with my fiancé who was visiting me on my thru-hiker of the AT. It was one of the best places I have ever stayed.

Great place to stay. Super clean super convenient to Bryson city. Friendly and helpful owners /managers. Very attractive suites with all the necessities plus some kind additions. We made great use of the bagels and breakfast supplies!

Loved it and plan to return! My family and I had a wonderful time at The Calhoun House Inn and Suites during a spring break vacation to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We wanted to stay at a Bed and Breakfast, or «B&B,» to create a memorable, unique experience, and choose The Calhoun House Inn and Suites. The Inn has four rooms, each with a different theme. Our suite had a prairie/indian theme and we spent a lot of time just checking out the artwork. The attention to the décor was impressive — clearly someone put a lot of time, thought, and money into it. The suite was roomy, with a large living room with a pull-out sofa, a full-sized kitchen, a large bedroom, bath, and several closets. It had all the modern amenities — new HVAC, wireless internet, new kitchen appliances, HDTV and a collection of dozens of movie DVDs, etc, — but kept a lot of the charm of the historic nature of this home. The owners, Ed and Shirley, live on the property, and were super-friendly. They made the reservation process easy, and were helpful with directions to the Inn. During our stay, they went out of their way to help us feel comfortable, and were always around to answer questions, suggest local attractions and places to eat. One of the best«treats» was their dog, Derby, a friendly border collie. Our children played with Derby in the large yard in front of the house and for the children that was one of the most memorable highlights. The place is also a great value — very inexpensive for all they offer. During our stay, we saw contractors making improvements to the property. It seems very well maintained. I can’t think of any downsides or «cons» to this place. If you want a sterile, standard commercial hotel room, then this place is not for you. But if you are looking for something that feels like home, spacious and with character, at an affordable price, and in a perfect location for a visit to the Great Smoky Mountains, the Calhoun House Inns and Suites are the right choice.
