Great breakfast for two picky eaters! Service(thanks Mike!) was probably some of the best I’ve ever had. Their eggs were nice and buttery, the bacon was amazing(I usually don’t like bacon, but loved this!), and the breakfast potatoes were mindblowing as well. Started our day off right! Go here!

Creativity in serving deserves a mention. The dishes are very authentic and initial bread with olive oil and rosemary, olives and other dry grasses are fantastic, and Elk chili as well as soup specialties are well done. Bison stew was a bit too tough for my liking and at some point utterly inedible, but rack of lamb was the most impressionable dish, cooked fantastically. Self brewed beers were fantastic(I was told by referral, I do not drink so don’t take my word for this bit), but overall impression was mediocre. Lemonade is minute made and also nothing special. Mistakes in table prep and serving detracted slightly from the food. Presentation of dishes was nice. Again, authenticity in both food and décor is a reason all in itself to eat here. Servers make mediocre mistakes for a long established restaurant. Most staff is welcoming and food is served quickly. Children’s meals were quite nice and dinner, all in all, was satisfactory. Location of the lodge is amazing, and atmosphere was subtle and comforting after a day hiking. With some better training of staff, the experience could have given a better impression. They took an automatic tip(25%, unbelievable) which sent all positive aspects of the staff out of the proverbial window.

We went here for a nice dinner, we ordered our drinks and the waiter we had chatted us up! He said that he and his 4 year old go on the Navajo loop trail, which the Rangers said was difficult, he said that the Rangers are just trying to scare you, but mainly so they don’t have to go list people out of the canyons who have passed out or something. The boy who brought us water was very, very attentive he always made sure everyone’s water was fully filled up, he also made sure that we always had bread(the bread was really good) I recommend the Caesar salad which was, for me perfectly sauced I recommend coming here and after going to the canyon look over.

We ate here twice this week. The food is good but pricey. The wait staff were also good. The reason I only give it two stars is because they have bizarre policies about large groups. Yesterday at lunch we were told they could not let ten of us sit at one table because of fire codes. Tonight ten of us were forced to sit at three tables, which they wouldn’t move together. This was a few minutes after six of us were mistakenly placed at the wrong table and forced to all get up and move. The management here could really use some lessons in costumer service. At these prices we expect more than good food. We should have went across the parking lot to the pizza joint that happily seats groups of twelve.

Incredibly disappointed. With the prices on the menu you would expect much more. I ordered a steak and it was like chewing on a large piece of beef jerky. Glasses were dirty too. Not all the food was bad but expected much more due to the prices.

No one comes to Bryce Canyon for the food. But part of the fun of staying in the park is being there early and late, so we ended up eating in the dining room four times during our stay: two dinners and two breakfasts. It’s a curious place. if you order carefully, it’s reasonably priced and tasty. Other dishes are overpriced or not good at all. Advice for breakfast is easy: order off the menu. On the buffet, some of the food had been sitting out too long. We had a family debate about how many days ago the biscuits had been baked. Food ordered from the menu was great. For dinner: the large dinner salads were great. Elk chili is excellent. And the kids’ popcorn shrimp was good(though the portion was too big for an adult much less a kid). Not so good: didn’t like the spaghetti pomodoro with chicken, or the chicken piccata. Vegetables were over-cooked. Service is a mixed bag. The lodge appears to hire lots of international students for the summer, and many of them appear to have never worked in a restaurant or hotel before. The older permanent staff seem a bit cranky. Service was more like a diner than a nice restaurant. A mixed bag, but pleasant if you order the right things. Can’t beat the location!

A very woodsy feeling with the smell of burning wood as you enter. I did not stay the night but wanted to try the food. I had a delicious breakfast. Give this place a try.

Great food, great ambiance, great service. But the manager was rather rude to our party of 2 families with young kids pretending he’s getting complains about our kids while everyone is smiling at us around.

Seeing as there were only three restaurant options in the off season in Bryce/Bryce Canyon City, we opted to have dinner at the dining room in the lodge one night. The food is pricier, but my trout was great and delicious and the waiter was attentive. Only complaint was that it was very hot in the dining room(granted it was snowing outside, but was still very warm). Definitely plan to have one of your meals here, and get there on the earlier side as it got crowded around 7pm.

It helps if you are starving after a long hike — then suddenly everything tastes better. It is really difficult to get good food in the National Parks and Bryce Canyon was no exception. Food was okay(not good but not terrible), the server was great(not the ladies who seat you — we had this one older lady who was soooooo unprofessional), price was okay. Tip: pack a cooler full of food before you leave home and use your hotel microwave to heat up GOOD healthy meals — much more satisfying!

Stayed at the Lodge while visiting Bryce. Had no choice but to eat at the restaurant since there is not much to choose from. Our waiter Mike was just the best. He was such a great guy with a great sense of humor. The food was good not great. The only part of our meal which I thought was really good was the Bison chili. That was really good. Everything else was just okay. Nothing I would rave about or even recommend. The place is nice and the clean. But honestly, there is no where else to eat.

The black bean soup was too salty for me,and the chicken in the sandwich tasted like pineapple… The trout was too awful as well, not fresh at all and had a strange smell… just don’t waste your money…

This is really a 2.5 stars review. The pluses are: nice room and vibe and friendly and accommodating service. That’s cool. The food, well, hmmm. The salads tend to be overdressed and just OK; we usually order a dinner-sized one to share and they bring an extra bowl. C’mon, just split for us, OK? We both ordered fish entrees and again, OK: the trout was nicely done if a bit under flavored, and same thing with the salmon; I asked for it «medium-rare» and they did a good job, but the red pepper butter lacked flavor, it would’ve made the salmon really special. The rice & veggies were a major fail: the rice(white«infused» with herbs) had a ton of rosemary & thyme in it, really hot in the mouth, and the veggies(asparagus) were just tossed on the plate, the average Denny’s does a better job. They should pay more att’n to plating and presentation. Kinda disappointing. The wine list also needs work: they have quite a few Idaho wines on the list that aren’t ready for prime time yet, and the other selections are limited and overpriced. Too bad, with a little retooling, more balance, and better pricing the wine choices would better pair with the food.(Corbett Canyon as house wine? Really??? That is hamburger & hot dog wine, they are betting diners don’t know better, and that’s not cool.) Didn’t try the dessert; we asked for crème brûlée & they were out, oh well. Maybe they didn’t have it together since they’ve just been open for a week, but I have a sense they’re slacking. Not everybody who is a tourist doesn’t know about food; they should take more pride and pay more attention, then this place would be really special. The food doesn’t measure up to the service and the vibe.

Not sure if it’s because I’m from California… or something else, but this restaurant is just kind of okay. The service is okay, some waiters are nice and attentive, while others are tired. Ribs are okay.(Dry.) Mashed potatoes are okay.(bland) Cajun Pasta is okay.(bland, chicken dry) The salad was a bit more than okay.(The sauce is strong!) It’s an okay option, especially considering everything else around seems not so okay.

A totally solid and pleasant dinner for a National Park, actually better than I had expected given that it’s the only show in town(by that, I mean the park). The elk chili was flavorful and warming on our chilly evening. The prime rib was cooked just as ordered(medium rare), and while nothing fancy or remarkable, totally hit the spot and was solid, served with a healthy pour of horseradish. The quinoa veggie entrée was actually quite flavorful, clearly made with some nicely seasoned broth. All the dishes were sizeable. The service was attentive and friendly. Our server quipped when we said we were undecided but probably not going to make it to dessert, that we could easily return the next night: «Every night, same menu. Same offerings.» The dining room isn’t fancy by any means, and it has a decades-past feel, but really, no complaints here.

We had the Ebenezer Trout and the Wasatch Grilled Buffalo Steak. I personally preferred the buffalo steak, which was savory and nicely cooked. It also came with a black bean and tomato risotto cake that I loved! It was creamy and well seasoned. The trout, while very good, was on the fishier side. But trout always is compared to tilapia or sole. It came with a slightly sweet and slightly spicy sauce that really made the dish. The side of cilantro rice was just okay, but seasonal vegetables were cooked just so(some bite, not mushy, not raw). They bring you fresh bread with garlic baked in and a spiced oil too. The bread is piping hot. They’ll give you more if you ask. The beer menu was almost all local, which was really nice if you’re not from around. The recommendations by the waiter ensured that we got two great local beers. Though I can’t remember the names, it doesn’t matter much for this review as the taps regularly rotate. The service was also solid. Our waiter checked on us regularly and was very good about serving is quickly. Overall, this was a pleasant science and worth it at the end of a long day of hiking.

Had the Utah lamb chops. It was quite delicious. The meat was very tender and it had a brown sauce over it. Serve with potatoes and vegetables, it was delightful after a day hiking. The seafood risotto was good and so was the trout.

If I could, I’d give the place 3 ½ stars just because some dishes had a 4 star taste while others bordered around 2 or 3. I had the barbecue ranch salad with pulled pork, which I thought was GREAT and had a lot of meat for its low price of ~$ 13(well, low for a restaurant in a national park that is). My family had the basic linguini marinara pasta(~$ 13) and the seafood special of pasta with a creamy saffron sauce($ 22). Both dishes were a little uninteresting and bland, especially given their high price tags. If the Lodge had more consistently good dishes like the ranch barbecue salad, I’d happily give the place 4 stars. Overall, the place is exactly what I’d expect from a restaurant in a national park: overpriced, convenient, and pretty allright. If in a rush, go here for a nice meal in Bryce Canyon. If you have time, go somewhere else outside of the park for a better meal.

It’s always hard to rate restaurants in a park. If we are in a city with many comparable restaurants in price, then it’s not likely I’d ever go to this restaurant. But hey, you are inside Bryce Canyon National Park. If you want something that is more of a sit down, nice atmosphere restaurant, this is as good as it gets. So for what it is, I think this restaurant is ‘A-OK’. The atmosphere is nice. The service is REALLY slow(so don’t be in a rush). The food is kinda hit or miss for us. The pricing is, well, high. But again, given where you are(assuming you are staying inside the lodge, it’s slim picking. We tried their elk chili as appey and it was not half bad. Pretty tasty and with a nice kick. But that’s pretty my favorite dish of the whole meal. Everything else went from a’ight to blah afterwards. Parents shared the largest portion of prime rib, hubby ordered the buffalo flank steak, I ordered a pasta on their daily special. So nothing really tasted bad per se, but nothing tasted exciting either. The prime rib was not bad. The buffalo flank steak was bland. My pasta tasted like mac n cheese with a kick… very very heavy mac n cheese. I took two bites and just can’t eat it anymore. Was just too heavy for me(personal taste). My husband didn’t mind it and end up eating half the portion of my past dish. The server was very slow and disappears often. Either he didn’t care or they are just that short handed. The dining room was half empty when we first got seated around 5:30 and quickly filled up. So it might just be because he was swamped. Overall, it’s a pricy meal. But given the location, it’s expected. So as long as you have the right expectation(want a nice sit in restaurant inside Bryce), it’s really an A-OK kinda dining experience for me.

Ate lunch here. I had the buffet: chicken soup was excellent — lots of meat. tasty flavoring; salad bar had spinach and mixed greens in addition to lettuce. Salad bar overall was good, not great. Meat and cheese choices for build your own sandwich were standard processed deli slices. Vegetables that day were mixed vegetables, brown beans(potent) and green beans. My meat was the sloppy joe mix — slightly disappointing overall. My wife had the club sandwich which was large and delicious. She saved half for the next day enjoyment. Service was excellent. The dining room was fairly empty when we arrived at noon and was only half full at 1:00 on a weekeday. It was a beautiful place to enjoy lunch. Our bill, including tip was $ 36.75. We were both satisfied with lunch and would return.

Sehr gutes Essen und Service, das Restaurant ist aber etwas teurer. Der Nachtisch ist sehr zu empfehlen! Das vegetarische Angebot ist in Ordnung.
