Breakfast Is Good and Waffles are Huge! Having tried breakfast here twice and lunch once, my husband and I can say that we are glad we tried the Home Plate Diner. The omelettes are fluffy and tasty, good hash browns, and well-prepared scrambled eggs and good bacon; but the breakfast star is a delicious, huge Belgium waffle. It is enough for two people. For our lunch visit, my husband enjoyed his cheeseburger and Real Handcut French fries. I agree that these fries were amazing! I would order them over and over again! I am looking forward to trying their chicken and dumplings some Thursday. The service staff is always efficient and cheerful, and do a good job! Of course, you may have to tolerate being referred to as sweetheart, darling, honey or even sweet pea — Ugh!

This will become our new after church tradition. We shared chicken fried chicken which was breaded perfectly and cooked just right. We also tried six different vegetables and enjoyed them all. The pinto beans are die for. We also had the strawberry ice box cream pie which will blow your mind! The service was great and atmosphere is fine. Overall, I highly recommend giving this place a shot at being your new go to.

The food is so great. My husband & I like country fried steak and we’ve had it at a lot of places in & around Little Rock. This place has the absolute best. It beats all the big chains hands down. It’s fresh & tastes home cooked. Also the staff is very friendly and the service is fast. We came after breakfast and the server made a fresh pot of coffee because it was quiet at 3:00 in the afternoon. Things like this make me want to keep going back. It is NOT a chain. I think they only have 2 restaurants. If you’re in Bryant Arkansas I highly recommend it for home cooking. I can’t wait to try the breakfast. We have found a new home in our new city.

Had lunch there with coworkers. The pot roast, purple hull peas, mash potatoes and gravy with freshly baked roll was great. Can’t wait to try breakfast there.

Tried breakfast at Home Plate with my wife. Walked in to a clean restaurant and we were greeted by friendly waitstaff. The waitress brought us coffee quickly(so far so good) and we looked at the menu. To start we decided to try a cinnamon roll — this is where things started getting bad. What they brought out is what I am sure began as a beautiful homemade cinnamon roll. The problem is, we received it at least a couple days and at least one microwave session after it was made. The thing was hard as a rock and barely edible(although I ate ¾ of it so what does that say about me?). Our food arrived in a reasonable time and looked pretty good for the most part. The flavor was less impressive and virtually every item was cold(there were 3 customers in the restaurant so I can’t figure out why this happened). The sausage tasted old, the potatoes weren’t bad but again, they were cold, the biscuit was the frozen variety(not horrible) and the gravy was watery and devoid of flavor(and cold — not my preference). I really can’t recommend this place to anyone and I doubt I will be back. They weren’t busy and the owner was present so I don’t think it was an off day. There are many better options around Benton/Bryant for breakfast.

Home Plate Diner is much like an old fashion restaurant that equipped with jukebox and all. Wait staff are always friendly and courteous. Of all the times I’ve eaten here, my order has never been wrong. I wish I could put my finger on a favorite item but all of their food is very good. Veggie Burgers, real burgers, homemade fries… It’s all great. Definitely filling on any budget.

My wife and I have started frequenting Home Plate when we want a great breakfast. Can’t beat the service, and everything always comes out quickly and cooked to perfection. The servings are huge for the price, too. Soon we’ll give it a try for lunch or dinner and report back on that. For breakfast, it’s definitely hard to beat.

Great food. Great prices. Stuffed a family of four(all over age 18) on road trip from Illinois. Burgers, chops and chicken fried steak were all excellent as were the sides. On top of the excellent food we had exceptional service, quick and friendly.

This is my go to restaurant when I want a home cooked meal, but don’t feel like cooking. The waitresses are always friendly and quick.

I am loving this place tonight. My patty melt, perfect onions well grilled, the bread grilled, and Swiss cheese. Heaven. We got the peanut butter pie and they ate it so quick I could not get a pic. They have several desserts including fried pies and surprisingly a hummingbird cake, don’t find that in many places, nuts ands cream cheese frosting oh my! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Age of the clients was about 40 – 70. Which is fine by us they know good food are are patient when Kids arrive. The bathroom has a bench to sit or change the kiddo. The 50’s décor is very nice and not over done. Loved it!

Great breakfast! We were driving cross country & stopped in Little Rock & used Unilocal to locate a breakfast place. Homemade pancakes, biscuits, and cinnamon rolls to die for. Friendly staff and stylish décor.

Some restaurants build their reputations on one kind of meal and with Home Plate Diner it’s apparently breakfast. Look through the reviews here and you’ll see raves about French toast and country breakfasts. A good breakfast joint often builds an organic environment from the warmth of a crowded, bustling room. Dinner, sad to say, is another story. We arrived on a Wednesday night in September and found a 50s-themed room full of blue seating and plastic tables, a few elderly(like us) patrons, an afterthought menu and little in the way of atmosphere. Service was okay but harried, adding nothing to our experience. The Wednesday night dinner special was pot roast, not your first choice for September in Arkansas. We looked in vain for fried chicken on the menu, but the closest we could get was something called«Chicken Fried Chicken,» which, when we asked, turned out to be those boneless chicken breast pucks cooked like chicken fried steak. Not what we had in mind. So we retreated to the burger menu, which was all right. Big burgers with tasty seasoned fries or good-looking but oily onion rings presented without any particular flair. We ordered iced tea, which consisted of a glass of shaved ice with some strong tea lost inside somewhere. Here’s a suggestion. Unless Home Plate Diner wants to get serious about dinner, feature French toast all day. Everybody who comes in during the morning cycle seems to love it.

Found the recommendation on Unilocal as we were passing through on a road trip. Breakfast was fast, tasty, and reasonably priced. Two of us had omelets and the other had a waffle. I love, love, love this place! The food is delicious, service is good, and they have a beautiful 50/60’s décor(blue themed). I go here during my lunch breaks at least twice a month. Wonderful restaurant. Open for breakfast and lunch.
