I was taken here by a burger fanatic who really loves the burgers here, but I personally didn’t find it(burgers and place) special(It wasn’t a great value and the fries needed salt, but our salt had solidified into a solid mass). I’m definitely not a bar person, so I missed the restaurant feel, and didn’t appreciate the ambiance(it was a bit too dark and gloomy for my tastes but I’m a warm, soft light everywhere sort of person, so I’m aware that I’m not the targeted population!) Besides it not being my cup of tea, I feel like it could have been more polished– in the way that unfinished isn’t necessarily rustic, as rustic can be highly polished and thought out. But there is charm– the lady(Margie, I suppose) behind the counter was very, very sweet, and I believe there was a fridge with drawings behind the counter! So there’s that.

I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now and it’s never once occurred to me that I should write a review. I don’t know why but maybe it’s because the relaxed, easy going feel of the place takes me back to a time before instant reviews and social commentary. So… First, the place isn’t a dive — it’s just old school homey. The staff(owners) are also happy and attentive. They advertise themselves as the«Home of the Opersteny», which is basically just a small burger. I’ve had this once and enjoyed it but I need more burger. So I switched to the Sexy Pimp, a half pound of home cooked deliciousness. Yes, it’s greasy. Yes, it’s messy. Yes, it’s always cooked perfect every time. Always a side of fries too which are perfectly cooked when you order and tasty. I highly recommend you stop in and give them a try. They don’t quite make five stars but honestly I think that’s the point. Good food, great atmosphere for a good price.

Simple menu, but what they do, they do well! I had the in-between burger and the cheese tots, and they were great! Just what I wanted. Thin-style burgers. Crunchy deep fried tater tots. Great, friendly service, and you can watch your food being cooked!

This place is a dive, it’s not that clean, and nothing in there is close to new. If you’re the kind of person who is put off by this, you should stay away. However, if you can find the charm in such things, this place is kind of a treasure. The food is very simple, but very good. Don’t expect any frills, or anything terribly unique. But if the thought of a big greasy burger served with some crunchy tater tots ordered off a menu that feels slightly sticky to the touch make you smile, get yourself to Margie’s.

I wish I could write about Margie’s food but unfortunately, I cannot. As soon as we stepped inside the door, we were overcome by the dark and gloomy atmosphere and the prolific, lingering cigarette smoke. The restaurant was relatively empty, save for a few regulars and the hostess/cook/waitress/bartender/dishwasher/cashier(yes, one employee). A man who walked in and started yelling in Spanish toward the back of the restaurant certainly added entertainment value. But since we were looking for a good meal and not a memorable/strange experience, we decided to cut our loses and leave prior to ordering. Unless something changes, we will not be returning to Margie’s. There are other restaurants in the area that better appeal to us in terms of cleanliness and openness. Your mileage may vary.

I definitely wouldn’t say they have the«best burgers» in town; they run a little soggy and salty, but that’s what homemade burgers are supposed to be like! The nachos, however, are very very good. Although a bit pricey, take a 50% coupon along, and you’re good to go. They’re not your typical nachos doused with melted cheese and minced meat you get at arena games; instead you get served nice chunks of meat mixed with onions on top of each nacho with the perfect amount of spiciness.

Margie’s has the best burgers around and the cheese sticks are to die for! Also, you can’t get better service anywhere in the B/CS area.

Funky little place for flattop burgers and cold beer. Ambiance, ambiance!
