Brazos County Courthouse

I live and work in Kansas City, Missouri as a paralegal. The law firm where I work needed to file a document in Brazos District Court. The ladies, Christian and Yulissa, are the most professional, kind and helpful individuals I've encountered in an out of state courthouse in years. Usually, the clerks are tired and snappy. These two ladies are awesome. They will direct you to the website you need for e-filing and further information pertaining to the court. If something is filed incorrectly, you need only to call them on the phone and they will assist you with getting it right. Thank you, ladies, for your professionalism and your kindness.

The idea of jury duty always terrified me. Not so much the actual being on the jury but trying to find out where to go and everything. However, with this courthouse, my fears were unnecessary. The security guards who sit at the front are friendly and helpful, rather than the types who always try to make you feel guilty when you know you aren’t!
Then later, when I went to file for divorce, the district clerk’s office was very easy to find and the clerk who helped me was wonderful! I had to end up going three times to file everything needing to be filed and everyone was more than helpful, making sure I got everything taken care of, and the clerk I worked with the most, even doublechecked to make sure I’d filled out the part for changing my name back, even though she didn’t have to do it. It makes you feel good when people do what they can to help you.

If you’ve ever lived in Houston and find yourself utterly terrified, pedantically nauseated or just downright depressed about the very prospect of having to visit the County Clerk’s office, well. You can relax.
What we found here was a staff of nice people that seemed to genuinely care about providing great customer service.
After passing through that Metal detector thing (god I hope they don’t find out years from now that those make men sterile or something!), quality assistance by some jovial Sherrifs, they politely provided directions to the service area we needed.
We didn’t stand in line more than 30 seconds or so before a supervisor noticed us and got someone right to the window. A happy to help professional clerk with a good sense of humor and a genuine smile issued our marriage license with pure professionalism.
So Houstonians, it will be okay. The service here is like small town by nice people.
