This place had the best lobster roll I had while in ME. Go large for $ 20, it’s worth it! The place doesn’t look like much but the food is great! It also doubles as a convenience store.

Find it funny people are complaining about the male owner on here. The guy is a lobsterman. He is out catching the delicious food while you sleep in your warm beds. He is a Mainer. I love people like him, he’s the hard working backbone of our great state. People are too sensitive nowadays. You don’t have to say sorry /thank you /please 100 times in order to enjoy a lobster roll! And the décor. They found a niche with this store. My guess is it was a friendly convenient store prior to its success. They started selling these amazing lobster rolls, and thanks to hard work and sites like Unilocal, the owners have created a lucrative business. Kudos. P. s. I used to drive by this place to pick up a co worker on my way to work at around 0400 and they are open unlike all the chain coffee shops. It’s not pretentious which is awesome, and the people are local owners that work their tails off. Well done, hope they stay around for a long time.

Best lobster rolls ever. Over flowing and not covered in mayo to cover up any lack of lobster. Will travel 3 hours for their food. Super friendly owners and operators willing to help direct out of towners to other great stop points in the area. Great price on fried calamari and fries, my boyfriend was in high heaven while eating them. We try to make a trip up every couple months even in the winter because the quality and quantity just does not compare! Sadly we made the mistake of not checking if they were open before our trip up today and the lovely owners were having a much deserving vacation. No love loss there though we will certainly be back in a couple weeks to get the fix we couldn’t satisfy from another location a little more southern Maine

This place is one of those places that you would drive past if you didn’t listen to a local’s recommendation for a tasty lobster roll. Trust the locals! Absolutely delicious! The folks running this restaurant were very warm and welcoming. I will definitely be back if I’m ever back in the area!

I’ve only ordered the lobster roll here. It was excellent. I ordered the small roll and was surprised on the affordable cost and amount of perfectly cooked lobster meat. They do not use mayo on the roll so you get the full fresh taste of lobster. I can’t say that I’ve ever had better. Wicked good buddy.

Believe the hype — Libby’s is the real deal. We have been a few times and each time is a delight. The lobster rolls are fresh, delicious, and big. I prefer my lobster roll without mayo or butter(I like the taste of lobster) and you can really tell the difference. It’s amazing that, despite being so close to the ocean, more seafood restaurants serving lobster rolls don’t follow the same business model. Delicious to the last bite. Well worth going and eating outside on a picnic table in the summer.

I’ve never had a lobster roll so good! I got the medium and it was too big, there is so much meat in the roll. And the roll is in perfect proportion to the lobster; I hate when you get a roll and it’s 75% bread. Also, they don’t distract from the taste of the lobster by smothering it in mayo or garlic butter. Simply delicious!

Satisfied with the lobster roll. They earned their stars and my friends approved. They were generous with their portions and really friendly with their service. We can’t imagine a better or fresher tasting roll. Would be cool to try some of their other items. There was a sign on the condoms in the store that said, «condoms are now behind the counter cause kids keep stealing em.» I get that this business needs to protect themselves financially from theft and disrespect. 100%. However let us as a smart thoughtful community look at the bigger picture. This is an example of how the environment of the area is one where kids feel they need to steal to get condoms. Thankfully, thats a problem we can fix! Since this is the case, I’m hoping the community will do more to point teens in the right direction, talk to their kids about sex and not stealing, and let teens know where they can get free condoms. Or parents can buy condoms for their kids so they don’t get STDS or pregnancies. That would reduce the need and desire to steal from this awesome place with awesome lobster rolls.

OMG! You have to stop here and get a lobster roll! The most lobster meat I’ve ever had in a roll. They were picking the fresh lobsters behind the counter. I’ve heard the place is up for sale, so go NOW! Enjoy!

Feel like I’m repeating the obvious, but this lobster roll is pretty close to perfect, by both my and my husband’s rigorous standards. The lovely woman who served us asked me if she could start our order while we were on the way… and made it perfectly, from toasted bun to wrapping our halves separately. I can see why it’s consistently 5 stars! Libby’s we will see you in our dreams until next time !

There is a reason Libby’s has a perfect score on every review, everywhere. Their lobster rolls are perfect, and the owners — husband and wife Dan and Tina — are the perfect accompaniment. I’ve been out on their boat and seen the lobsters pulled in; I’ve been to dinner with their family. Tried dozens of other lobster rolls, and they’re all exactly that — others. This is the real deal, made by real people. They are even nice enough to overnight a couple of rolls to me in San Diego whenever my wife and I need a treat or special occasions. It is our deathbed meal. Perfect.

My wife thought I’d lost my mind when we pulled up in front of Libby’s. She says, «This is where we’re going for a lobster roll?» She was whistling a different tune a while later. As we sat back in the corner of the little store and had a great lunch, a steady stream of regulars came in, some for food, others for a quart of milk or a newspaper. The people who run the store are super-nice and made us feel right at home. If you want fancy, this isn’t really your place — but If you feel comfortable here, then you’re my kind of people.

Best lobster roll I had during my trip to Maine and they have three different sizes. My roll was stuffed full of the most tender lobster. Make sure you order it without lettuce so you get more lobster!

No need to wax poetic about this institution of lobster roll deliciousness. We made one of our infrequent visits today and before I could sing out my order for two lobster rolls, the words ‘one small pepperoni pizza’ came rolling off my tongue. So, one small lobster roll, grilled, with lettuce(they ask if you’d like both) rounded out the order. I’d had their rather thick crust pizza once and remembered enjoying it very much. Why? Because their pizza has gooey stringy cheese, tasty sauce, and enough discs of pepperoni to flavor but not overwhelm the whole package. My partner said she would absolutely return for the lobster roll and rather than repeating what others have written, I suggest you read those great reviews and believe them. Today’s prices for the three sizes of rolls they offer were about 12, 15, and 22 bucks. The pizza about 6. I recently posted a review of Micky D’s lobster roll and gave it four stars. My previous lobster roll experience at Libby’s was definitely 5 stars. So, how can this masterpiece be only one star better than that fast food place? Well, it’s really many stars better. But I try to grade on expectations versus reality/results. I expected greatness here and got it. I expected a barely acceptable rendition at McD’s and I think it surpassed my low expectations. So, Libby’s Market. Definitely off the eatin’ path but most definitely worth the journey. And that my friends… is the rest of the story.

Lobster rolls are delicious and fresh. Libby’s is a little off the beaten path, but well worth it. If you’re looking for a trendy hip place, this isn’t it. But if you want a tasty no-frills lobster roll, get to Libby’s.

I was visiting Maine for my very first time and when I asked where to go to get the best lobster roll, Libby’s. Market was where I was directed. Libby’s Market is a small, convenience store with a selection of tasty home style options. Immediately upon walking in, you are greeted and welcomed. I ordered the medium lobster roll and was not disappointed. The bun was toasted perfectly with massive pieces of lobster. There definitely is not any fillers in this roll. I highly recommend Libby’s!

Have to start by explaining the guy at the counter is a jerk. The food is good but try not to speak until spoken to. Had this place bookmarked for the reviews, saw the crappy photos,(Look for yourself, I’m not fibbing.) tried it anyway. Decent food but ZERO atmosphere and the crab roll was very salty. If you are a local on a lunch break thats fine. If you are on vacation and want a good place to eat, find some place else. Again, the food is ok but bite your tongue outlander.

I’d heard rumors about Libby’s and their lobster roll. Why, oh why, have I tarried this long before partaking? I think their roll is the best one I’ve had this year – seriously! Libby’s Market is a nondescript neighborhood market on Jordan Avenue in Brunswick, run by a wonderful husband and wife team. I say, «nondescript,» because that’s what it looks like from the street. Looks can be deceiving, however. The husband, Danny, came out to check on me and my lobster roll, as I mentioned I’d heard he had a stellar product. I ate out at the picnic tables(there are three, with shade umbrellas). We ended up figuring out that we had a mutual friend from my hometown of Lisbon Falls. I also met his supplier, Rick Webber, from Pinkham Point, where the lobsters originate. Libby’s has three sizes, and I went with the«middle» size, which would be a full-length hot dog roll size, or standard lobster roll size at most places. I’d guess there was 5+ ounces of fresh lobster meat. Danny was picking lobster when I walked in. He told me he starts the process at 3:30 am, and is at it most of the day, as that’s the only way he stays ahead of the demand. The lobster meat is minimally-dressed with mayo. They ask if you want your roll toasted(yes), and if you want lettuce(no!). The toasted bun was done to perfection, too. Oh, and since it’s a local market, they have the usual snack foods, including ketchup chips from Humpty Dumpty, which if you don’t know what these are, I’m questioning your proclivity about getting out of the house occasionally. They also carry Olde New England Seltzer, which is another product you can’t get just anywhere, let me tell you, chummy! If you know about Olde New England Seltzer, you know it’s a Moxie Beverage Co. product. And yes, they do carry Moxie. I didn’t choose the french fry option, but you can get them with your lobster roll. They also have lobster stew, also. Now that I know they have such an awesome lobster roll(and they have them all winter, btw), I know where I’m heading during our interminable winter(which The Old Farmer’s Almanac is predicting will be cold as all get out, like last winter).
