For my hometown, this happens to be the closest GameStop to visit. So far, I haven’t really been disappointed with this one but that doesn’t mean this GameStop gets in the clear just yet. While not that big on the outside, the size on the inside is very good with plenty of room to move around. As size doesn’t really restrict this store, the selection is expansive and large. Not only do they have a large stock of Xbox and PlayStation titles but their Nintendo titles are plentiful. As an added bonus, this is the only GameStop that I know that still sells Nintendo DS games in their cases. That reason alone is enough for me to visit but for those looking to find complete DS games, this is the GameStop you should visit. Other than the high stock of games, it’s very clean and well organized here with very little games actually out of order. I have no difficulties locating a game that I need because it usually right where it should be. That said, shopping for games can be a pleasurable experience… if you get the right customer service. On the basis of that, the associates at this branch have been helpful, friendly and accommodating. Sure there is the occasional stick in the mud during this time of year who really could care less if a customer is happy but the overwhelming majority of sales associate are easy to get along with and aren’t pushy or rude when you ask a question or go to purchase an item. From what I’ve been exposed to here for many years, it’s a GameStop that I hope stays around for a while. It’s a great destination for gamers in the Brunswick area who are looking for decent deals on games, whether they be last generation or the current one.

My Xbox 360 RROD-ed, so I visited this Gamestop to pick up a refurbished 360 as a replacement, since I find no need to buy a brand new console within two years of a probable next-gen Xbox launch. Refurbished and used 360’s here come with a 30-day warranty. On exactly Day 31, this console RROD-ed as well. Yay! I love throwing away $ 150 for no reason. I took it apart to repair myself, since I was familiar with the procedure, to find that this«refurbished» system had already been RROD-fixed in the past, but very incorrectly. No thermal paste was used between the CPU, GPU and their heatsinks… instead it was plain epoxy glue. There were also additional signs of hurriedness on Gamestop’s part putting it back together, like chipped plastic, loose screws and hastily replaced padding for the RAM chips. I’m assuming its Gamestop doing the actual refurbishing since that’s what they claimed as well as it saying so on the box… which incidentally is officially sanctioned by Microsoft. Aside from the occasional game launch exclusive, there is no other reason to ever return to this establishment.
