Really nice library with lots of space for the community to enjoy. Staff are helpful and easily found. I was there to teach a couple science programs to about sixty home-schooled kids. The room we were in accommodated the group well. As I was cleaning up, a garden group came in. Mostly senior citizens, they were very nice and were having a carry-in garden luncheon with photographs from a recent vacation and a spring planting planning session. As I was leaving, I walked through the book portion of the library. I found a hidden Easter egg that entitled me to a free book from their retired stacks. Fun! I put the egg back for a child to find. You know the saying«One can never have too many books»? I find this to be untrue, especially in the midst of a move.

This is a great place to study, meet clients, or just hang out to read. Quiet and great librarian services. If you need assistance using any equipment, they go out of their way to assist you. I do not live in the county, but am able to use their computer services as a visitor patron.

Today was a strange day at the local library. They have de-cluttered the children’s area a little which has made it more spacious, but I don’t know what they did with the books that were there. Today they had cars from the local dealership on display(a Ford Fusion and a used Smart car) which seems strange, but I guess you please your sponsors any way you can. As you can guess, the kids wanted to climb in the little golf cart of a vehicle, but it was roped off. I guess someone paying $ 17,000 for a golf cart(but with less utility) wouldn’t appreciate children’s fingerprints and footprints everywhere. My little one loved the computer games that help with literacy and learning how to use a computer. The Dora castle game was all mouse and timing with your clicks, so that is somewhat educational, but I never relied on Dora to teach anything other than a few Spanish words. The minus-one star though happens to be on the very strange collection of books they had on whales in children’s fiction. All of the picture books with words had very strange art that would be really above the head of the audience looking at the book. Instead of an illustrated story, the books were more like abstract paintings with a weird story line for each page. At first she liked it, but then as it became strange for her, she moved on when she couldn’t follow the story. Unfortunately, all the fiction books about whales were like that. To the librarian’s credit, she did research, find, and order some more traditional books about whales(and ones that had some recognition for their quality) to stock at the library, but it seems like that should have already been a popular subject(fish, dolphins, whales) amongst kids since Finding Nemo. Still love the library, but strange when it came to finding something that should have been there(story books) and finding things there that should not have been(cars).
