The food is always great, but that’s a no-brainer since all of the ingredients are prepped and ready to just stack into a sliced loaf. It’s the customer service and attitude that(three times now) leave a customer looking elsewhere to dine. The sign on the door and its site clearly state an opening time of 7am. And with its location off of Hwy 287 it would make for an easy and convenient spot to pick up a sub during one’s commute to work. The only problem is that on this morning(1÷11÷16), at precisely 7:34, the door was still locked and the simple-minded clerk manning her station was not interested in accommodating customers. A knock on the door to remind her of the oversight resulted in a very rude and dismissive wave of her hand; like she honestly was too busy to walk over to a potential customer to courteously provide either an apology for the delay or an explanation. And, I’ll say«cha-ching» here because I patronize this establishment at least three times a week on my own and after school with my hungry kids, and about twice on the weekends with my husband and kids. The two previous occasions were similar with the exception of the simple-minded clerk. Apparently simple-mindedness and rudeness run rampant at this location. Again, being in close proximity to the neighborhood in which I live, it’s a convenient stop for me to pick up lunches to pack for my kids on those mornings when time is just not on my side. 7:02…7:04…7:08; I even patiently sat back in my car just to give said simple-minded clerk the benefit of the doubt. This, again, resulted in another tap-tap-tap at the door, to which she reluctantly opened for business. Once opened there was no greeting, nor acknowledgement whatsoever. In fact, I liken the experience to having intruded on someone’s pot-smoking break and being blamed for ruining their experience. Seriously??! It got better, not, because instead of walking behind the counter to eagerly create a sandwich, she busied herself at the soda fountain to tinker with things only a high person would think existed. «Can I place an order?» I asked. A sigh, a roll of her eyes and skulky walk was what I received after she made it clear that I, again, had rudely interrupted her. Don’t get me wrong the sandwiches are good. As I said, it’s not difficult to make a good sandwich if the blueprint and ingredients are in order and laid out in front of you ready to be stacked onto bread. The personnel at 1260 E 1st Ave get better reviews and seem to know how to run a business, so even though it’s an extra few minutes away my family, friends and I will happily take those extra minutes to enjoy a better experience than we’ve received here. I’m thinking the name Subway not only refers to the type of sandwiches served but also the ‘sub’ service customers receive on 287.

This was the dirtiest Subway I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a lot of Subways. My son and I came here for lunch and there was only one other person in the restaurant and this person was already seated and eating. Every other table was dirty, and I mean Every table. The floor was dirty, littered with crumbs and trash, the entry door was dirty, the trashcan area was dirty, there was sticky soda all over the floor under the beverage area. It appeared only 2 younger females were working at this time. Neither came out to do dining room service, one appeared to be on a break as her lunch was spread out on a table in the corner. After serving us, we sat at an edge of one table after sweeping off crumbs ourselves. I was expecting them to now come out and start cleaning up the restaurant. They never did, instead, I just heard them laughing and joking with one another in the back for the rest of our lunch. Hopefully management checks this chain out and gets it fixed up, not a sanitary place, at least on this day.

The new flatizza was hot fresh and delicious! I recommend getting the Italian style. Lots of cheese on top plus good tomato sauce made it taste great. Served on a crisp crunchy flat bread as the crust. Yummy!

Things were clean, which is hard for«fast food» to be, so I was pleased. Sub was good and the sandwich artists weren’t chatting with each other. Bathrooms were clean and all windows were see-through. Secret back entrance with more parking and some shade!
