NEW MOMS, DON’T GO HERE… They make first time moms feel horrible here. The top doctor, Sikand, talks down to you and makes you feel like you aren’t doing well. Every visit left me belittled. I have a smaller baby, and it has been in his genetics to be small. I stopped going to the practice after 7 — 10 WEEKLY visits to «check his weight» because he didn’t fit their charts. The doctor told me that «the history of small babies in the family didn’t matter», and «we can fatten him up». Since when do genetics not matter?! She simply didn’t care about family history or what I had to say. She never ran any tests to see why he had slow weight gain. She just made me try 4 different formulas to supplement him. And after the 9^th time she told me about his weight without running tests I asked her, besides his weight, what else is wrong with him. Her response «well… Nothing». After so many weeks of «weight» visits without getting any answers, I told her I couldn’t come in every week because I didn’t want to max out insurance. To which she responded, «Why, do you have a job?», and she told me that I wasn’t producing enough milk, «but that’s something your lactation specialist should be telling you», and that, «you’re a young mom, it’s no surprise he’s underweight». And if that wasn’t humiliating enough, she did these visits in front of multiple med students without my consent! I saw them for a few months before I stopped going all together… I’ve never seen one bill from the office. Now, I’ve received a statement saying that the account is delinquent and over $ 800! Terrible experience. Especially when you are trying to prevent postpartum! My first visit to the new pediatrician when leaving this office saw his weight and her FIRST question to me… «was his dad a small baby?». I made a good choice finding a caring doctor that didn’t treat me poorly because I’m a mom and not an MD.
