I don’t know how to properly describe this place… It is the most ridiculously weird, meticulously assembled, delightfully over-indulgent, painfully cheesey, exceedingly fun, massive sensory overload of a roadside tourist trap that I have ever experienced. I guess the best two word description I can give is… «GODDAMNPERFECT»! My wife, daughter and I discovered it on accident and came back 2 weeks later with my mother in law and nephew to share the joy. we spent hours exploring and at the end of the day didn’t want to leave. the owners are wonderful and have HUGE hearts for rescuing and caring for these abused animals. The gift shop is quirky and fun and the fresh citrus was exceptional and cheap! If you are the type to step off the beaten path this place is without a doubr worth the drive and the couple dollars zoo admission!

If you are expecting a zoo like lowry park or something where admission is upwards $ 30/person. This is not for you. This is a family owned and run operation and they rely solely on donations from the public. They do they best they can and give them respect for having the heart to take in neglected animals. I came here today(Sunday) around 11am with my girlfriend as a fun, afternoon outing. She had been to Boyett’s prior but this was my first visit. Honestly, I was shocked at the amount of things they had. It looks rinky dink from the street but once you step inside the shop you’ll be transported to another era. There’s a western section, citrus fruits, local honey, sodas from the 50’s, an ice cream parlour, and many random, interesting items to look at. The admission price is $ 5 and another $ 5 gets you a huge bag of popcorn, pita bread and grapefruit to feed to the animals(highly recommend!) You go through a short dinosaur exhibit before entering the«animal exhibits.» You can see that they have put in a lot of work and effort into this part of the attraction what with all the props, lighting and sound effects. You have to give them credit for such a low scale attraction. There are four doors you go through(all numbered) and they all go to different parts of the farm. The first door takes you outside to the larger animals like zebras, lemurs, monkeys, camels, pigs, porcupines, deer and so on. You can feed all these animals if you purchased a bag of food which is really fun and entertaining. You can get up close to them and pet them unlike a zoo where you stand 20 feet away and they’re usually in hiding. The path takes you back to the main room and you can enter one of the other doors. I don’t remember exactly which numbers go with what theme but there’s an aquatic one, an aviary and another outdoor exhibit with peacocks and an alligator! I was impressed by the amount of things there were plus they just added a mini golf course. I will definitely be coming back for more fun! The owner(husband and wife) are super friendly and they started this business on their own taking in rescue animals from abusive situations. I applaud them for the amount of work and dedication they have put into this business and only wish them the best of luck in all their endeavors!

*This is one of two listings for Boyett’s Grove… I was looking for a local activity to take my 3&4 yr old grandchildren to and this place came highly recommended by locals. Reviews on here made me leery, but I know people can have overly high expectations at times or just be sketchy so we gave it a shot… Yes, the store is an older establishment and reminds me of an old Five & Dime store, but you can tell they work hard to keep improving it. The eclectic store area is huge and can be kinda hard to navigate… there is just SOOMUCH stuff to look at!(Great for souvenirs to take home!) You have to go to the back snack area to pay for admission to the wildlife park/putt putt area and get your bag o’ animal feed. You walk alone, at your own pace, and take your time with the animals you want to see. *Side Note: We didn’t do the putt putt, but it looked fun and the decorations were awesome! Once you go thru the dino area, there will be three doors to three buildings. Go thru the one on the far right first(this is the area where the animals can be fed.) Once you come back out that door, you can go to the reptile area(middle) or the bird area(left). *Use your food in the first area, but remember there are a lot of animals! Don’t forget the monkeys at the end! I found all animal areas to be in excellent clean condition and all the animals were healthy looking.(Have no ideal what the other reviewer was talking about!) There is A LOT of walking to do and some areas have uneven ground, don’t think this would be great for someone who has trouble getting around… Now, I had my two teenage boys(14&16) with me also and I swear I think they had more fun than the little ones! I enjoyed the heck out of it myself! I think the«so ugly it was cute» large bird was my favorite. There was even a little play area with a plane! All in all, it was an awesome experience I plan to repeat. I thought they were exaggerating when they said it would take a couple hours, but we were there for three and could have stayed longer easily! If you like things a little on the wild side-you’re gonna love it.

This is a very unique place which(like every other review has said so far) is not much to look at(at first). When you first walk in, it looks like a mom and pop souvenir shop. It has a small arcade for the kids, and a snack bar. However, when they take you back and show you which doors to go down to find the zoo– it turns into this large maze of adventure for all ages. My boyfriend and I went because he knows I love animals, and we had a chance to feed them. I was terrified of the bird portion(because I’m not a fan of parrots) because they were all out of their cages. However, they were very docile and didn’t hurt anyone. Overall, I suggest it for kids of all ages. I would go again, for sure.

When you first walk in it looks run down. We actually thought about leaving. we are so glad we didn’t! The owners are extremely friendly, and you can tell this place has been their life’s work and they are still working on it. The admission is very cheap and worth every penny! This is the perfect way to support a local business and experience old Florida. Like another reviewer wrote its hard to explain, but it’s a really cool place.

My little one really loves it here. We go for a few hours about once every couple of months. A surprising amount of animals at this little rescue zoo. The gift shop is a weird experience to walk around and see some of the older stuff for sale there. I find the place to be odd but in a good way, hard to explain. If you are ever nearby it is worth the walk inside to look around the gift shop at least.

You will not believe the amount of awesomeness tucked away into Boyett Groves. I feel bad for all the kids who miss out on this to go to Disney. Here is real Florida and an amazing time. The family who runs the attraction are the nicest folks ever. The animals are so much fun and you simply can’t miss the Shark. Or the One Eyed Monkey. Or the fish tanks. OR the Dinosaur caves. I can’t list all the things tucked into corners, because I am almost sure that I missed something! Be sure to spend a few dollars to get a bag of food for all the animals. Take the time to go visit Boyett Groves, trust me.

For the few dollars that it cost for admission this sure was a fun place to spend an afternoon. Huge gift shop with unique things. Fun stuff for the kids including fake dinosaurs!!! See how oranges are produced but the best part by far was the little snack shop and the little zoo they have. I will guarantee your family of friends will have fun here!!!
