Great Service. The employees were so nice when 10 of us walked in and didn’t realize they were closing for the night. They still served us without grumbling. The ice cream was terrific.

Great ice cream and friendly service. Owned by local folks with business roots in Brookston, Very reasonable prices compared to the queen. Stop by and get a tongue twister — you won’t regret it!

Lickity Split just opened yesterday, and I am just back from my first visit. Ice cream is the main emphasis and they have a lot of ways to enjoy a cold treat. They have soft serve in chocolate, vanilla, twist, and«flavor of the day» which was lemon today(a favorite of mine untasted since the Indiana state fair stopped serving it in about 1967). A cone may be dipped in chocolate, cherry or butterscotch and have krunch or sprinkles added. There is frozen yogurt, shakes and sundaes in a variety of sizes and flavors, «Brain Freezes» which are like a snow cone, and tongue twisters which are whipped with your pick of many different add-ins. The shop’s name sake, the«Lickity Splits» are banana splits that come in four different variations, banana split, quick split, little slugger, and pretty princess. They do floats in root beer, red cream soda, orange and Coke. Beyond the ice cream, there are assorted hot dogs in Chicago, Brookston, chili, chili cheese, and corn dog styles, plus a BBQ sandwich, nachos with cheese, and soft pretzels. They are making a real effort to have some unusual items nobody else has around here — cream soda, kiddie cones, Chicago dogs, chocolate bananas, and, when in season, sweet corn! The atmosphere is bright and cheery, with a lot of yellow. It is a family-run business, which gives it extra points in my book. This is a nice addition to Brookston’s food choices whether for a meal, an ice cream treat, or both! 5÷17÷2012 This just in: Lickity Split has just started having Dog ‘n Suds hot dogs and root beer! Yay!!!
