This is the perfect coffee shop, in that it’s got the best location, most down to earth staff and most community oriented chill ambience. The coffee isn’t third wave hip cutting edge so it weeds out some pretension. Maybe. I suppose someone could argue otherwise. They have good pastries– I recommend the raspberry bars or the turkey cheese croissants. Also I love their espresso.

Great coffee, great service, great location. The bagels are unpretentious, but tasty and satisfying. Everyone who works here is super friendly and accommodating.

Twin Peaks themed coffee shop!!! I have been to the shop here and there and recently started frequenting for my morning bagel fix. And then I must’ve just opened my eyes or something ’cause it hit me… Wait a minute there’s a lot of Twin Peaks stuff here. There’s two posters on the wall and the tables are made is wood slices. I love that décor accent. And then this morning there was a very cool Laura Palmer deconstructed poster addition. My favorite are the coffee sleeves with individual quotes. My favorite being«the gum you like is going to come back in style!» Brilliant. Now I just want them to change the menu up to «Log Lady Lattes» and«Iced Laura Palmer cold brew». Have I gone to far? I think not. And Black As Night Dale Cooper drip. And there should be cherry pie. Until then this is a great spot to grab coffee, a aforementioned bagel with cream cheese and tomato for a little over $ 3 and there’s tons of treats in the morning like chocolate and banana bread. And there are also plenty of vegan substitutes in cream cheese/milk/treats. Good place to bring vegan friends. The space is small and is not the best for groups or crying babies.

Now THAT is how you make a pumpkin spice latte! We just ate dinner and wanted kawfee. Walking into this cute coffee shop, your drawn to the vegan cookies on display. Now vegan doesn’t bother me, why should they test cookies on rabbits and other small animals? Go Vegans! I start looking at the menu hanging on the wall and see Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte. Mmm mm give it to me now! We ordered two PSL and a vegan chocolate chip– oatmeal cookie not tested on rabbits. The sitting area was small but comfy. We enjoyed our coffees and we’re on our way. The name is throwing me, Wyckoff Starr. How about Wyckoff Starr Café or Wyckoff Starr caffe or Wyckoff Starr coffee or Wyckoff Starr cuppa coffee? Work on that, I’ll be back.

Waited about 15 minutes for a stale, overpriced bagel. They got a star back for having good music.

Consistently good iced coffee. Standard — delivered to the store — pastries. Can get crowded in the morning but they tend to move pretty quick. Right off the Jefferson L stop, making it easy to pop in before the morning commute. Yes, they take cards. $ 5 credit card minimum.

I love this place! The staff is very friendly,(with our young kiddos too); service, though slow during high-traffic times, is on par with a good coffee place. I love the Twin Peaks vibe. This coffee is the BEST in the neighborhood!(We regularly purchase coffee here for home brewing.) They’ve made spacial improvements, so the condiment section is a little more accessible than it used to be. The turkey/cheese croissants always run out, so get there early to experience that bit of heaven. It’s worth it. Anytime we take friends to go for coffee, we bring them here.

This place is exactly what it seems to be. Cool little Bwick spot that busts out good coffee and good treats on the regular.

Easily the best iced coffee I’ve ever had, and reasonably priced, too. It was very smooth and sweet. Recommended.

Good coffee and food but customer service is hit or miss. I’ve had bagels burnt and gotten rude answers to questions about the food. I like that vegan desserts are available but if you ask about them you may get a sarcastic reply. I guess that’s Brooklyn.

I was working at a studio nearby and visited them everyday. Chill pace, but I love that nobody was rushing behind me in line either. Great coffee. Awesome croissants and love the Twin Peaks love.

My spot for over 7 years now. The best coffee shop in Brooklyn, and one of the original Bushwick businesses. The staff and owner are so chill and nice, and the bagels and coffee are delicious. They have tofu cream cheese, and a selection of locally made vegan cookies and other sweets. Perhaps the only down to earth coffee shop left in this now very trendy neighborhood. They accept ALL credit cards including Amex, and the minimum is only $ 5. PS. It’s Twin Peaks themed.

COUNT your change! Barista tried to rip me off today, didn’t give me a receipt and all embarrassed she instantly refunded me when I walked back in because she double charged me for a drink. I’m no tourist, lady. Sucks because before that little cheat they were decent.

I love Wyckoff Starr. I miss Wyckoff Starr. I used to live nearby and the Bees Knees latte was a regular staple for me. It’s right next to the L at Jefferson, making it very convenient. I used to drop in before doing grocery shopping at Hana. It’s much better in warmer months, though, when you can take advantage of outdoor seating. They make good use of the space they have inside, but it is very, very limited, and most of the time when I dropped in I was unable to find a place to sit, so I’d take my drink to-go and drink at the tables inside Hana.

Mmmmm. Get the bees knees latte. It makes me SOHAPPY! The croissants are also pretty delicious as well. From the wise mind of Donna Meagle: «treat yo’self!»

Very good coffee from a neat little shop. Nice selection of coffee and espresso that tastes very good. The staff is friendly and prepares a great cup of coffee. Perfect to take with you while exploring the nearby street art.

This place is convenient. It’s right off the train. It’s fine if you need coffee and can’t walk a block to Cobra Club, which brews stronger richer counter culture grinds and charges less for much bigger cups. But like, don’t choose this over bodega coffee, it’s not better. The food is fine too. But don’t choose eating here over anywhere else. The bagels are the stale, bready supermarket variety and the tofu cream cheese was a little rancid last time.

Cute little spot off the Jefferson L! Great little place to stop in for a morning cup and a blueberry scone. The blueberry scones are great and for some reason I always find myself loving this place on rainy mornings, I think it’s the Twin Peaks theme(which is awesome). Only qualm I have is the service. It’s just a very small counter but they aren’t always the friendliest and I’ve had more than one instance where they forget my bagel and move onto everyone elses behind me until I mention something. Most of the time they are super sweet though! :) Tips: Credit Card min is $ 5 and a Small Hot coffee is actually an Extra Extra Small, just get a medium. ;)

Enough with the unfriendly staff comments. Your life isn’t the Truman show. Did your folks teach you that ‘service should be with a smile?’ I know this is capitalism and all, but I think the staff here is just fine, I feel completely neutral about them. Now the coffee… is really tasty. It definitely does the job. I drink the hot drip coffee here, I haven’t really ventured much beyond this. I probably come here the most, because of the proximity to the subway. During morning rush, not a lot of people are seated, so sometimes I come early, and sit for a little bit and work. But it’s a really busy and small place, almost constantly a line(which moves fast — hence the lack of small chat with the baristas), so not exactly relaxing to work in. Also the clientele are the type that will ask you what you’re reading, or drawing, so concentration is hard to keep. Headphones are key to working in this place. Then I’ve been able to hit a groove. Definitely #1 choice for breakfast in my circuit. Really good bagels that are made with care and tasty and not too big. They have gluten free vegan muffins that are usually warm and pretty good! And whole wheat bagels, tofu cream cheese, vegan cookies, Bluesky Bakery bran muffins, plus stuff like turkey and cheese croissants — so really something for everyone. $ 5 credit card minimum. $ 1.75 for a medium coffee. $ 3.5 for a vegan muffin. $ 1.50 for a bagel with peanut butter. Also, every coffee shop in this neighborhood says it opens at 7am, and that’s BS. Wyckoff Starr actually opens that early, and when I have to be at work at 8, I am so happy they are there. The one thing they always ask that bugs me is if I need room for milk. I always say no now, because if you say yes, you get like inch less coffee. I am usually there when I really need coffee, and have just found enough quarters on my apartment floor to pay for a medium. My brain melts down at this point. And I can’t squabble over a extra sip or two of coffee that I will probably end up just spilling on myself in the subway anyway. That being said, this place is a coffee machine. If they were gone, someone would have to step up for sho.

I’m a fan of the coffee and espresso, and this place is fine to grab a quick(though not cheap) joe, but I echo many other reviews in saying that the service is less than welcoming. I don’t need ya to kiss my feet but there’s no need to make me feel dumb for ordering ;) There are a few other coffee shops within a square block or two. They’d just as well suffice.
