I would give NO star if possible, or we’d go into the negatives… This was basically inedible. Disgusting is too nice an adjective. You could not really even call it food. We were hungry and did not read the reviews(will never do that again!) and unaware the place was Chinese so disastrously ordered ‘mexican’ — what a joke! The burrito was a salty, gooey mess. The dog would not even eat what was left off it, which was over three quarters and since he eats anything, that is saying something, The tacos arrived cold and the meat therein put a new spin on the term chargrilled — try burned and black. The tostada comprised mostly of lettuce. I had to use a magnifying glass for the cheese and guacamole. The steak added was unidentifiable. I can’t say what their other food would be like but something tells me it can’t be great. This place should actually be shut down. It is near impossible to screw up a taco, yet these people managed to! Please, please don’t waste your time or energy on this poor excuse for food. The order was also twenty or more mins late which did not help. In retrospect we’d have been better off if they did not turn up at all. Seriously the most disgusting food I have unfortunately tasted in I don’t even remember how long. If this post stops one person more from ordering this crap excuse for food, I’ll be happy. Cannot reiterate enough — DON’T go here. They don’t serve or deliver food, they serve unidentifiable bits of inanimate objects tossed together in a swill of putrid sludge.

WORSECHINESE I’VEEVEREATEN! So, I tried them thinking I would get enough food for the next few days. But instead, I think I’ve had enough of Wai Ling. I ordered from them off of Grub Hub and they were supposed to have delivered the food between 4:05 — 4:15 and they were 20 minutes late. I have an hour for lunch. Yikes. They DID offer me a discount on the food the next time I order. And I would give them a pass/another chance if the food was delicious or even average. But it was terrible. Really terrible. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - Bad News first. Then the slightly tolerable news. Crab Rangoon: F Crab Rangoon is my favorite appetizer. And as long as it’s crispy, I give it a pass on cream cheese to crab content inside. But it was disgusting from bite one. The dough was tough on the edges, not crispy, tough and stale. The contents were a nasty cream cheese with crab… maybe? Worse, it spilled out of the sides getting everywhere. So what they give you a lot of it? Most of it is inedible. A waste of money and food. Egg Drop Soup: D How do mess up Egg Drop Soup?!? No flavor. It tasted like dish water. And it wasn’t hot/warm by the time it got to me. Bleh. Pork LoMein: C+ It was tolerable but completely lacked flavor. It looks like it should be good. But it definitely falls flat. It’s mostly noodle not a lot of meat and veg. Beef and Broccoli: C It’s Beef. It’s Broccoli. But again, the flavor is nowhere to be seen. Oh and by the by, Beef and Broccoli is not supposed to be put with the rice. The sauce will break down the rice and make it unfit for later consumption so thank you for that. Pork Fried Rice: B+ It was decent as far as fried rice goes. Nothing exceptional though. By far, the best part of the meal and also the smallest portion of food I got. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – Cost: I would say they are cheap but they cost as much as any Chinese Food restaurant around lunchtime really. I will never order from there again. Ever. Even if it was free. Maybe their Mexican is better but I already have several spots for Mexican. If you like them, good for you. But I was appalled by the lateness and the quality of my food. Hopefully, this two-three day leftover nightmare will be over soon. Try them at your own risk.

Know what you’re getting yourself into… local Chinese/Tex mex take-out. Far from fancy, but close to comfort-food. Liked my boneless spareribs dish combo. Extra packed and even saved much of the order to finish at home. Staff are nice, understandably not super English-proficient but they try. Atmosphere isn’t too appealing but I guess that’s why it’s a to go place I gave 4 stars because it was good for what it was meant to be. Plentiful, hot, savory, reasonably greasy, and quick.

Ordered chicken chow mein delivery and they sent a noodle-less dish. Usually it wouldn’t be a problem, but when I requested a refund/replacement they claimed it was chow mein. Long story short; sub-par food and TERRIBLE customer service.

Since every other Tex-Mex spot on this portion of Flatbush Ave. has shut down, Wai Ling is just about the only choice. Bad choice. Less than fresh salad items, undercooked, still dirty shrimp,(shrimp tacos) and what’s with the pink, birthday cake serving plates??? Staff is very unenthusiastic about being there. No surprise Wai Ling is almost always empty. How Wai Ling stays in business while so many other restaurants that were several times better have closed their doors, remains a mystery.

First time eating from this place and it was not impressive. Rice Portion size was too small. Hunan chicken … Well let’s just say there was hardly any chicken. I was cheated.

We ordered from here last night at 12am We had the egg drop soup, crab rangoon, plain fried rice, chicken lo mein, crispy beef and the general tso’s chicken. They use dark meat for their chicken dishes. I don’t like eating anything but chicken breast and was immediately turned off by this… and could’t touch the chicken again The crispy beef was really good, probably the only really good thing we ordered. They sent my order without the chicken lo mein, so I called in and told them, the lady was very nice over the phone and told me they will be sending it over soon. I really wish it had less soya sauce it was way too salty for me(keep in mind I add salt to al dishes) If I do have another late night craving for chinese food I would order from here again, Carroll Gardens doesn’t have many options when it comes to chinese and this is the best one we’ve tried so far.

So, this is really terrible Chinese food. I wouldn’t even try the Mexican. But it’s open really late, and sometimes… Well. You’re hungry and it’s midnight. The last 2 times I ordered from this place I actually fought with the delivery man, who wanted me to come out to the sidewalk to get my food. He didn’t even want to come in my building. Which? Really? Arguing with me about actually delivering my food? Then he was like«Next time, I’m not coming up.»

Honestly all I wanted was Mexican delivery food. and I already expect the worst living in NYC! So I ordered even though they are a Chinese restaurant! The super burrito… was well… SUPER. It was HUGE! The tortilla didn’t even closed and everything just broke and came off as soon as you ripped off the foil. The burrito itself was ok no special flavorings you need to ask for extra sour cream or if you have a bag of hot sauce in your purse you’ll be fine! But ask for extra guacamole because there was nothing in my burrito and it was dry. Overall, I would order again but maybe not Mexican food.

It’s ghetto Chinese food, so what would you expect? First off, I would never, let me repeat that, never ever order Mexican food from a Chinese restaurant. I personally do not care for burritos that reek of peanut oil and soy sauce. So this review is for Chinese food only. My wife didn’t care for it too much; I thought it was pretty on-par with ghetto Chinese food. New York comfort food. American Dishes ============= Fried Chicken Wings: B Not a ton of flavor. Pretty average. Appetizers ======== Steamed Shrimp Dumplings: B– Too thin skinned. They kind of broke apart easily, but the included dipping sauce was nice and spicy. Tasted like shu-mai. Boiled Dumplings: B– Tasted like shui-mai but looked like dumplings. I swear they must be the same as the steamed shrimp dumplings above. Too thin skinned/delicate but the sauce was nice and spicy. BBQ Spare Ribs: B– Sauce was too sweet. Ribs weren’t fatty nor juicy. Shrimp Toast: A– Typically you get one large shrimp toast with a fried and very oily crust and lots of «shrimpy pulp». Here you get 8 very small shrimp toasts, meaning you get much more crispy, oily crust and much less of the oily shrimpy pulp. Soup ==== Won Ton Soup: A I’m usually not a fan of won ton soup, but this was pretty good. Not overly salty, lots of won tons. Hot and Sour Soup: B– I don’t know how anyone can make a sub-standard hot and sour soup. It’s the easiest thing to make. They don’t put enough vinegar and black pepper in the soup, so the soup itself is bland by hot-and-sour soup standards. It didn’t have the bits of pork you commonly see in these soups. Fried Rice ======== Roast Pork Fried Rice: B+ Chicken Fried Rice: B+ Shrimp Fried Rice: B+ I really enjoyed it and thought it was a tad better than the average fried rice. In particular, the shrimp fried rice had more shrimp than I’m used to in shrimp fried rice. Mein Fun /Chow Fun ================ Chicken Mein Fun: B– Good flavor but a *tad* dry. Beef ==== Beef with Broccoli: B– Very disappointing. This dish should be all about the sauce/juice at the bottom of the container. Surprisingly, it came with rice already in the dish, so either there was no sauce or the sauce was already sopped up by the rice. We couldn’t tell. I’ve never seen this dish come with rice already in the dish. I wish they wouldn’t have done that. Szechuan Beef: B– When I want Szechuan food, I want something spicy. The spice level of this dish was«meh», not very spicy. Plus it could stand to have a bit more beef in it. I’ve noticed a trend over the years you get more vegetables and less beef from ghetto Chinese restaurants, but I found myself wanting less bell pepper and missing more beef. Hunan Beef: A– Everything that was wrong with the Szechuan beef was corrected with the Hunan beef. It was spicy(if it were more spicy it would’ve been an A) and had enough beef and sauce. Crispy Beef: B+ Normally I don’t like sweet foods, but this was good enough to be an exception. Unlike most crispy beefs, this actually had parts that were crispy, which astonished me. There was enough here for 3 dinners(with some rice). Tremendous portion. Even the«throwaway vegetables» were good. Shrimp ===== Lobster Sauce: A– A very good lobster sauce. The shrimp were nicely cooked, very big, and juicy. Actually, the large size of the shrimp were what pushed this B+ dish into an A-. Recommended. Chicken ====== Sesame Chicken: A– Wasn’t as sweet as sesame chicken can be. Juicy pieces of chicken. Nice crusty outside. Loved it.

Terrible, terrible place. The employees here are extremely hard to understand and do not understand well either — causing them to deliver the wrong food(which took over an hour to arrive) When we called to ask for the correct order, they simply tried to say it was our fault, and when i asked to speak to someone else the man on the phone attempted to pretend he was passing the phone to someone else when he just sat the phone down and picked it up again. Also, this is primarily an Asian place, as our Mexican chips tasted like they had been made in old won-ton grease, nothing authentic at all. It was disgusting. Avoid at ALLCOST!

I ordered from this plave last night and the fodd was awful. The shrimp fried rice was not good because the rice was totally overcooked. The fried shrimp were gummy and the tartar sauce was the worst! Not good.

I ordered Chinese from here using GrubHub for the very first time. GubHub is awesome! This food was. eh. Typical greasy Chinese food. Not bad, but nothing special. I got the sweet & sour chicken combo which was exactly what I expected it to be: greasy fried bits of chicken and vegetable fried rice. Because the minimum for delivery was $ 10 though, I had to order extra food, so I went for a healthier option of brown rice and plain broccoli which I added extra veggies too and will be eating for lunch. All in all, not the best Chinese food I’ve ever had, but also not the worst. I don’t eat it very often, but I wouldn’t be totally opposed to ordering from here again if the mood strikes.

Absolutely horrible, horrendous Mexican food. I only tried it for a few reasons. #1 I’ve tried almost every other Mexican place and while Chavella’s is amazing, it’s not Real Mexican food to me, a native Californian. #2 On their menu they claim they’re rated #10 on some zagat survey. Umm no way in hell. #3 They take credit/debit cards for delivery which seems to be rare in BK. While you do get a huge portion for your $$, personally I feel it’s waste if the food is not good, and this was not. Had I known they were connected to a Chinese restaurant, I definitely wouldn’t have ordered from there. Enchiladas should not be made with flour tortillas, and they should have lots of sauce on top. I ended up with black beans rolled in a flour tortilla with a massive amount of cheese melted on top. No bueno. I will not ever order from here again.

Not much to go on here, but Lis K and I hopped across the street for some Chinese before the event this week. We anticipated the usual lack of edible goodies, but oh man were we wrong. Before we became aware of our mis-assumption, we waited patiently for two fairly spare orders. Mine: 8 fried dumplings and egg drop wonton soup, around $ 9. Lis: wonton soup and egg roll. The wait warred with my impatience for what was probably only fifteen minutes. Delivery orders were coming in too, Lis reminded me. But I was here! I wanted the food now! We had Unilocal fun to attend! Maybe the cooks had no idea this«for here» order actually had two physical people sitting at a table in anticipation? I say this because our food finally came out and it was extremely hot. Like ‘delivery guy has to ride a bike across Antarctica before delivering the food’ hot. The dumplings were fine, better than many served up in the Bronx. That isn’t saying much. I cannot in full faith and clear conscience rate a Chinese/Mexican joint three stars without knowing whether they lazily use Mexican yellow rice in the fried rice dishes. Maybe next time. Probably not. Ultimately I burned my tongue and gave up on the soup.(Only $ 1.95 and tax in the trash.) And all in all, those eight dumplings provided a good foundation for my night o drink& Unilocaling.

Not too shabby — — Its kinda ghetto and such when you go there, and the staff seem pretty grumpy, but once they know you, they’re very nice, and sometimes even chatty. The prices are great, and you get a choice of different«international» flavors. Delivery is super fast. The food is above par for this neighborhood. Which isnt saying much. since I think all the chinese take out around here is pretty horrible. The(chinese) mexican is pretty standard but not as greasy as others around here. Pretty great if you like that particular flavor(which I do). But as I said for this neighborhood, Beggars cant be choosers. I am thankful they are here!

After waiting for our food for over a half an hour(this place is right down the street from us), my boyfriend and I were excited to hear our buzzer… the first time. The delivery man proceeded to press the buzzer 5 or 6 times before my boyfriend had time to walk across our small apartment and press the«talk» button to inform the guy that he was on his way down to pick up the food. My boyfriend left and the guy continued pressing the buzzer! I pressed the button to let him in(again) and the buzzing stopped, so I figured he made it in. Not the case, my boyfriend found the guy downstairs pushing and pounding on the door. All would have been forgiven if the food was good. Sadly, not the the case. My steamed vegetables did not taste anything like vegetables and the vegetable fried rice tasted overwhelmingly of salt and onions. My boyfriend didn’t even finish his food and he’s eaten cat food. The prices are good, but most Chinese take out is inexpensive and a milion times better. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.
