Underworld Plaza

As a child a visit to Underworld Plaza was traumatizing. Strangers touching me, feeling me up, estimating size and fit — could there be anything worse for an awkward adolescent? As an adult I must admit that their selection is remarkable, their salespeople knowledgeable, and their prices more than fair.

I had nightmares after visiting this place the first time. Rows and rows of bras. And underwear. And fat pants. I had nightmares about suffocating in undergarments.
I am Susan N’s sister. And I have no boobs. My mom says my sister took them all and didn’t leave any for me. That or I took after her side of the family. As Susan said, her English isn’t that great. But that’s ok, I’ve made peace with my little ones — they are now close to my heart.
In any case, we used to come here when we were younger. And while Susan was off finding her Wacoal bras, I was still somehow able to find plenty of choices for my itsy boobs. Good prices, good deals. Just be prepared to wade through the Underworld for Undergarments.

I’ve got boobs. My mom says I get them from my dad, but I think she means I get them from my grandma (dad’s mom). Her English isn’t all that great. And honestly, while the boobs create a mass appeal amongst those with a phallic member, they’re a pain in the butt when it comes to buying bras.
That’s where Underworld comes in. Honestly, the name conjures up images of Hades coming up through the earth wreaking havoc on the average Brooklynite, so honestly, I was a little frightened to go in the first time. It doesn’t help that it’s underneath the elevated subway track. I went in anyway. Rows and rows of bras. Some panties, some PJs and some fat pants (you know, those pants you put on underneath your clothes to suck everything in).
A good portion of the selection is half off the manufacturer’s price, I think because it’s not the latest inventory. But who’s going to see it except for that one special person. Or many (hey, I don’t judge).
The staff can seem a little distant but they are very helpful. Just not fake friendly to get a sale. They will come over to you and measure your bust size and really dig in through the bras to find ones that fit your body perfectly. It’s here that I discovered Wacoal, a brand that fits my chest so perfectly that it feels like they created bras just for me.
