Please please don’t use time warner cable’s service. I just moved to a new city and transferred my service. The internet somehow didn’t work in my area. I wasted a whole month waiting for their techinitions to fix my internet and they cancelled my appointments twice. The internet never worked since I started their service, and no one came to fix it. I had to cancel my service.
It wasted me another hour to finally cancel the service, and I have to pay for the bill for the whole month internet that was never connected.
What they are doing is evil and illegal. I hope more and more people can realize this and take down their business.

We were finally able to cancel TWC after years of awful service, dropped digital calls, callers unable to hear me even after the tech was here for 4 hours, horribly slow internet service on a regular basis and having to unplug the cable box regularly to reset the television service. I’m grateful that Verizon was able to install wiring in our complex. Based on the number of Verizon vehicles on site, I’d guess most of the residents signed up for Verizon. It’s amazing to have options!!! The only issue I have with Verizon (after about 2 weeks to work out the kinks with service calls and a tech coming to my home) is to get all the channels available on TWC you need to most expensive Verizon package. We have the mid range package.

Time Warner Cable is the worst company I’ve ever had to do business with. And «had» to is not much of an exaggeration since these people have a monopoly throughout much of NYC.
I’ve experienced everything from having to confirm my installation date/​time (a 6 hour window mind you) three separate times only to have the technician cancel on me last minute, to being flat-​out lied to about how much my crappy internet service would cost for the next 6 months, to being told that I «should be happy» with my rate, just cuz, when I complained about the rate being more than I was promised and more than I ever paid during 8 years with Optimum. This company’s idea of customer service seems to be: make the customer feel stupid, and then sell them service at any cost, even if it involves lying, because after all, they can’t really switch providers even if they want to.

Worst company ever! Don’t trust anyone including the sales rep Phil.
They have 4 different technicians to my house and my cable still doesn’t work.
They told me my bill was going g to be $ 100/​month and it’ ended up being $ 250.

I called this morning to possibly switch to Time warner and spoke to the rudest person ever!!! I was asking specific questions and he stated I should be quiet while he was explaining! I stated I wanted to speak to his boss and he would not allow né too! When I say I was a potential customer he responded I was just a «caller»! Why would i switch and deal with this poor customer service! Where is the CEO monitoring the training of the call center?

Another cry for Unilocal to allow zero stars. A driver from the TWC facility in Greenpoint hit my dog with his truck going about 35 mph last week and did not stop. TWC has not been very helpful or compassionate as we suffered through a very heartbreaking and traumatic experience with our dog almost dying. They continually say they are «investigating» but I think they are just brushing me off and hoping I will give up. Please do not give this company your business!

I’ve spent more time on the phone with TWC than my own family in the past year. Literally. I’ve really got to know their phone staff quite well.
I pay for «standard» service (which is supposedly a step up from «basic») with a minimum Mbps (megabytes per second) rating of 10.0 or above. I’m using their speed test website (
) and it’s showing .90… This is pretty normal around here. every three days or so, it stops working altogether and I have to reset the router. Twice a technician came by and replaced the router and after the 2^nd installation yet again went bad, the tech support literally said «oh, they gave you that model router? wow, that’s a real piece of crap». Wow, thanks for that I guess. He also said to raise the actual height of the router for better service… Getting real technical here. That’s the «Level 3» tech support you get.
And yes, because the monopoly they have on northern Brooklyn, I have no other option. I am enslaved to this company as long as I want internet.

I recently had an Area Manager from Time Warner Cable call me and inform me that I could upgrade my Internet Only service to a Tri Bundle deal (for only $ 99 a month) and get the first month for free and cancel it at any time in that month, with no cancellation costs. I informed him I don’t have a TV or a home phone, so I don’t need it. But he said to get it anyway, cancel it within that first month and my Internet will be cut to about $ 33 a month (it is currently $ 43), and I’ll also have a better modem for free. He pestered me and kept me on the phone and kept insisting I do it to save money. In the end I agreed, largely just to get him off the phone, but I also thought, why not save $ 10 a month anyway.
I asked him multiple times to verify everything and that it wasn’t a scam and that in the worst case scenario, that if it didn’t work out, that I could definitely go back to my $ 43 a month Internet Only plan. He assured me multiple times that it’ll work and I’ll save money for no extra cost.
Of course, in the end, he was lying. Once they installed it, I called TWC three days later to cancel it and get my internet dropped to $ 33 a month. They informed me on the phone that the Area Manager lied to me and that that wasn’t the case and my Internet would now go back to the FULL PRICE. On the phone, I got put through to about 8 different people and had to explain my situation over and over again. In the end I was on the phone for almost an hour and the final result was that they couldn’t even honor my previous plan of $ 43 and that I would now be charged $ 55 a month. I lost my cool with the woman, so she spoke to her Manager and agreed to a $ 46 plan (still $ 3 more than I was previously playing!!) Supposedly, that was the best they could do.
I can not believe the lack of customer service and the lack of professionalism. For their mistake and for using bait-​and-​switch tactics and blatantly lying to their customers, I now have to pay extra for a service I never even wanted? They employed this terrible con-​artist, scammer for an Area Manager, and it is up to me — the customer — to pay for their mistakes!!! This is ridiculously unfair. And then they couldn’t even offer me my old plan back, when I never wanted to upgrade in the first place. What kind of business are they running?! Pathetic, scamming, lying, cheats!

Yeah, TWC has probably the worst customer service I’ve seen… probably borderline illegal actually. After cancelling my cable installation (twice) over the phone I was billed for two no-​name charges on my debit card with no explanation as to what they even were. Um, can businesses even do this? I wasn’t even a customer yet and they charged me for non-​existent service. Find another provider.

First, I agree that one star is great praise indeed for the worst customer service by the dumbest, most arrogant people on earth. On November 24^th, I called TWC to cancel one of my 2 internet lines. The customer service person I spoke to assured me that my bill would be adjusted to reflect the decrease in service as of that day even though they couldn’t actually pick up the modem until today, December 11^th. Today, I received my new bill for service from 12÷9÷12 to 1÷8÷13 and wonder of wonders, they are still billing me for 2 internet lines and 2 modems and, naturally, no pro rated credit from 11÷24÷12 to 12÷9÷12. I called them and long story short, the really dumb girl I spoke to kept saying, «I apologize but the bill you received is correct.» So, I spoke really slowly and explained the situation to her again. After several more «I apologize but…,» I finally lost it and explained that I was not going to pay for services I did not receive and asked to speak to her supervisor. Back to hold I went… I was on hold for more than 30 minutes and then, to my astonishment, she came back on the line to assure me that her supervisor was working on my account and that she made a mistake, giving me «misinformation» when she said that my newest bill is correct. Eventually, the much anticipated supervisor came on the line. He decided that I was not due a credit between the time that I canceled the 2^nd line and today, the first day they could actually manage to get someone up here to pick up the modem. Since it took them almost 3 weeks to pick up the modem, I asked what would have happened if they couldn’t manage a pick up for 3 months. Arrogant putz that he was, he said that would be my problem. I am going to pay them for service I didn’t get when pigs sprout wings and circle my building.

This review is for ALL Time Warner Cable TV services in NY. We have lived in Manhattan and Brooklyn and the cable service has ALWAYS been very, very shitty. If we could give zero or negative stars I would. If this was a review for a restaurant and I ordered a steak and instead I received a soup that had a dead mouse floating in it I still would rate that experience better than I would rate Time Warner. Time Warner is THE WORST EVER. EVER.
It takes a lot for me to hate something or someone. After a decade of terrible cable tv service and not having the option to switch to any other provider I am done. I have wasted countless hours of my life on the phone troubleshooting and the outcome is almost always never fixed. Though the actual customer service reps try to help they almost never can. the problem is that the cable tv service TimeWarner provides F%#$ING SUCKS and is always terrible, always has some problem and though it seems like a simple service to provide, is always broken. It is so terrible that I have had the tech support phone number saved as a contact named «TimeWarnerSucks» in my phone. It says something of the horrific service that I have to call that often that their phone number is saved as a contact in my address book.
Bottom line is that the cable tv service is very bad. They have a monopoly in my area and I can not change service providers. I have contacted other providers pleading that they start service in my area and they can not. So I am stuck with overpriced terrible service. If you have a choice DO NOT choose Time Warner.

Nothing but nothing has been easy with this company. They are awful. I am still waiting a week for a new remote control that they charged me $ 15 to replace. They will only send them in the mail. Or you can go to your «local» shop… Redhook.
The instant I can get Fios in my neighborhood I’m there.

TWC is total joke. Cable doesn’t work, CS is a joke… and best part is, maintenance crew came to supposedly fix the problem told me he got bunch of Sumsong cable box returned from other customers but «corporate» wants him to keep swapping with other customers, hoping one will work with the other customer. What?! At least the guy was honest, but gave me ZERO confidence about TWC.
I know TWC has complete monopoly in NYC, thanks to Broomy in big pocket, now we the citizen suffer. Great. Mr Mayor, I can’t wait to move out of city, so I can ditch TWC… and stop paying stupid city tax.

Why isn’t the amount we see on PayeXpress the finalized amount?
I have been told now by two different customer reps that I have to wait for 48 hours for the amount on PayExpress to reflect the finalized bill. So why make it available to view and pay? Go back two days later and-​I woe 58 cents more. Why, because there was a tax increase. Odd there must be a tax increase fairly regularly because this happens a lot. I finally decided to check into it and got nothing but well trained professional customer service people who couldn’t really help me, just try to pacify me.
So it seems that the bill is generated on, say December 3^rd, and is posted to PayEXpress on January 3^rd. But it isn’t final until January 6^th.
And this is for the benefit of those who like to pay early, but don’t mind getting a late charge for the paltry 58 cents or whatever that is tagged on two days later?
Yes, one service rep told me that they would be glad to waive the late charge on the 58 cents and I could just pay it next month.
Sloppy accounting practices. But I have to wonder just how much they bring in annually by doing that. I mean 58 cents in my case and then a late charge also added to my next bill? So if indeed money is being made this makes this practice not only bad accounting practice, but also unethical.
And yes, they do send an e-​mail notifying me when my bill is available to pay, sometimes. Well, most of the time, but sometimes I don’t get an e-​mail notification. So I have learned to check the website myself and pay.
This is the second or third time I have seen it online and paid it immediately, only to have a 58 cent charge showing a day or two later. So I am finding it hard to believe that this is an unusual occurrence. I think it would happen every month if I were to pay before the bill was posted online for a period of 48 hours.
So my official raspberry to the accounting practices of Time Warner.
And everyone be forewarned, unless you have already had the time Warner experience.
BTW, the customer service people, the techs, linemen and billing people I have dealt with locally, Austin, TX, are pure gold! TW is lucky to have them. I am sure they listen to stuff like this all day long!
