Tile Depot NY

My visit to the store was okay. dusty from their move, to be expected. The sales person, however, would not answer a single question I asked about tile — simple questions, but to him, he wouldn’t commit an answer. Still okay. However, I ordered tile from Olympia, a Canadian company, and what arrived was from a company called TGT, out of China. Maybe that should have been disclosed? Tiles were all uneven, causing my contractor to work extra hard. The boxes that arrived also had holes in them, and as a result, the tile was broken. But we ordered more than enough tile, so the broken tiles were not a problem. Somewhere between the contractor and Tile Depot, there was a mistake made in measuring or ordering, not sure which, resulting in several boxes of excess tile. Every tile company in the world accepts returns. after all, this was NOT custom tile. This store — no, they won’t take the tile back. Wish I could give them less than zero stars because that’s what they deserve.

My contractor told me at the last minute that the tile guy was ready to start the next day on my bathroom floor. So I checked out tile depot on Sunday afternoon hoping to find something in stock. Was greeted by Joel who showed me a few options of what I thought I was looking for. After 15 minutes of looking through their huge selection, I asked Joel for some advice. He asked me about the rest of the bathroom, gave it a little thought, then asked if I was willing to try something different than what I thought I wanted. I said sure and he pulled out some beautiful porcelain tiles that looked like wood. He laid them out on the floor and I thought, «that’s it.» Bought them and three days later my bathroom looks amazing. Great selection, great advice, easy purchase, very nice people. Definitely recommend them.

If you need tile and have no idea what tile to buy, they will literally help you pick out tile in 10 minutes. They’re very good and gauging what style you’re going for, and they also give advice on different design options to hang the tile. I was in and out of there for a few months buying tile for an investment property and they always helped me find exactly what I wanted. They have a great selection, and they’re very nice to work with. Highly recommend.
