My number one go to spot to un wind. Delicious food. It’s a nice little place with its own magic. After work I usually stop in to relax. They have a wonderful midnight menu that serves till 2am, spacious private yard, indoor and outdoor seating, Reasonable prices, friendly bartenders If you happen to stumble into this little Gem, go for the burgers and cider. So so so good.

Came for drinks. Good beer and cocktail selection. Vibe was chill and the front patio was a nice place to hang out. Burgers were really good and they were able to accommodate our vegetarian friend. Bartenders were super attentive. Would go back.

HORRIFICSERVICE!!! Overrated. Terrible staff. Typical hipster pretentious vibe from employees, not enjoying their jobs or doing their jobs, not worth the annoyance. Plenty of nearby brunch spots with equally obnoxious staff, but much better food.” P. S. who puts mayonnaise on a bacon egg and cheese. Barf

Check this bar out! This is one of my go-to bars in the area, and not only because it’s just a block away from my apartment. It has great happy hour specials, the space is very cozy, and the staff is pretty chill. Really looking forward to spending afternoons in the outdoor space when it gets warmer. Awesome Bushwick bar!

Fun Hidden gem on Troutman in Bushwick. Fantastic, knowledgeable, and friendly staff! Picnic tables add a lovely little backyard feel to the outdoor space to sip on well mixed cocktails!!! Great space to meet people!

First time coming here for brunch. I got the Full English Breakfast and a Bloody Mary and it was bomb. Everything on my plate was so good. Something so simple as the fried eggs were so perfectly cooked they seemed more delicious than your average fried egg. The Bloody Mary was more spicy than the norm but I like mine that way :) The only reason it lost a star was because my friends meal of oxtail sloppy joe(I think it was called the Joseph) was really quite spicy without being labeled on the menu as such. They seem to have a heavy hand when it comes to heat as another friends egg sandwich was also surprisingly on the spicy side. Again, not a problem for me, but worth mentioning. The atmosphere — 5 stars. Awesome outdoor area Our server was also super rad. So attentive and friendly and his shirts are always cool af.

omg this is the most HORRIBLE place i’ve ever been. The bartender kicked us out because we were from Latin America and not from U. S! Wtf? I am 26 i can grab a drink in every place and this never happened to me. I love brooklyn i love new york but i am going to tell all my friends to never come here. The worst part was the managers attitude, he said we should fuck off!

This is probably the most racist bar in Brooklyn, my friends and I were kicked out because we don’t have an American ID, hello, we’re tourists? So yes, I am Mexican and I have a Mexican ID! The«manager» was the rudest person! He told us to fuck off? How ethical and educated! So guys beware of the racist! And welcome to The Rookery

Good food if you’re looking for a quick bite. This isn’t a go to spot for me if I’m trying to party, but since it’s close to home I tend to stop in when I want lunch and a beer without a ton of noise.

We happened upon this place by accident one afternoon and I loved it! The high ceiling and interesting décor was very welcoming right away.(must be great in the summer with the doors and front area open). I felt like the kitchen knows what they’re doing, they seem to give a lot of love to everything they serve. I think the brunch gets the highest ratings(The Sammy and burger were delicious and home fries were the best I can remember) but the dinner pub menu seemed to be lacking a bit on choices(in fairness they call it a pub menu so its not really a dinner place). The young bartender was very sweet and seemed to know the menu very well which is a refreshing change from some of the rude service one gets in some hipster places. On the downside their service can be a little challenging depending on what time you go there. You might have to walk up to the bar to order(which I understand), but still it seems they have a little something to figure out on the service issue. In spite of the few shortcomings I mentioned I still give these guys 4 stars as it’s super cozy and spotless clean throughout(yeah that matters), the kitchen and specialty cocktails are killer, and I think they have the right idea. Definitely will continue to visit this cute pub.

The Rookery is one of my favorite bars in Bushwick; it’s cozy inside and out, has a wonderful ambiance, reasonably priced drinks, and a great happy hour. It’s perfect for a first date(dark lighting makes everyone look better) or drinks with friends any time in the evening. Never too crowded or loud, and very easy to carry on a conversation without losing the chill vibe. Can’t speak to service on the food, but I’ve never had an issue getting drinks. Bartenders are really helpful and attentive, and best of all, they take credit cards with no minimum. I’ve never been for food unfortunately, but I hope to rectify that soon– I’ve heard fantastic things about their brunch.

I prefer The Rookery for drinks and dinner/bar snacks over brunch because the Scotch egg is only served at night. It’s a must if you eat meat. The Mac and cheese was pretty good, but the jerk wings(spicy) are legit. Great drinks, friendly bartenders and a decent happy hour – I really dig this neighborhood spot.

You know what kills this place? The service!!! We had to play a game of hide and seek with our waiter a few times. I’m just too old for that type of game at a restaurant where I’m 110% hungry. The food is phenomenal! I ordered the french toast with a side of bacon. As I waited for my food to arrive I couldn’t help but to question as to whether or not the chef had to kill the pig first to get the bacon. Like damn! It wasn’t even that crowded and french toast is typically 1, 2, 3 so why did it take 30 plus minutes for our food to reach our table. Waiting that long makes you forget to say your grace and now I’m a sinner committing sins. My date asked for a lemonade and that too took 15 minutes. His food was stuck at his throat so he was in dire need of a beverage. When it came it was absolutely delicious but still! Moral of the story… they’ll kill you with the wait on EVERYTHING you order, but they’ll make it up with the quality of the food. Damn either way you just can’t win –_–

I have seriously got to question who writes these reviews I.e. recommending the Samosa burger etc. Have these people never traveled outside of Williamsburg? Or perhaps need to recommend their local gastropub for the mere reason of being a local? The samosa burger and regular burger are horrendous. Please, I dare you… if you don’t believe, buy the burger and explain to me why there are cheap buns wrapping the meat? Why does the salad have no real sign of cheese? Why does the samosa burger taste like my nieces first time making food? Would I recommend her food? Yes… because its my niece, not because its good food. And I believe that’s whats the age old phenomena that we are witnessing here folks. Disclaimer…I know what samosa, samosa chaat, and everything samosa related is supposed to taste like. Three star redemption because the bartender was nice at Happy Hour. However, no place would EVER get anything more than a BARELY three stars where I have to get up, order my own food, get my own napkins, just to bite down into something that I’m pretty sure I could beat with a small Weber portable grille and 10 minutes.

Great place to get drinks and food. Nice vibe and good service/bartenders. Can get busy late on the weekends as many may suspect… but have not had issues getting a seat both times I’ve been.

I am happy that we ended up here during our vintage shopping in Bushwick! The small backyard and the warm staff gives this place a very relaxing and chill atmosphere. On top of this, they play really great music. My music-oriented«underdog, electro-pop-friend» heard her favorite on the stereo! Great to hear musical treasures that are not widely know through the radio. Yeah! These people got good taste! We ate buffolo wings and gazpacho. We went for the spicy wings, yum! With the soup it was a perfekt hot weather-lunch. All tables have tarot cards, and we were quiet pleased with our 6 pentacles-card symbolizing a future of prosperity. The guys on the next table were nice too! I felt so much at home, that I just changed my clothes outside, and put my legs on a chair. I felt very much like chilling out in our own backyard. I will definitely go here again! Next time I will try more from the menu, and for sure one of those tempting brunch cocktails!

Love this place! I like that they get creative with the food(curried, Sweet and Sour, Etc.) The portions are perfect & it’s pretty laid back. They have a cute little outdoor dining area which is perfect when the weather permits.

This place confuses me. I’ve been here twice and the food hasn’t been consistent and the service is very mediocre. The service: The staff seems like they definitely don’t have a service background because they didn’t know their menu, couldn’t recommend anything and just overall ignored us and didn’t follow up to check on our meals. This happened the two times I’ve been here. However, there is a man who didn’t serve us but came over to check on us — he might’ve been the owner. His 30 seconds at our table was already 10x better than the both servers with the two different visits combined. The food: I had The Sammy both times — scrambled eggs, light on the aioli, hold the tomatoes. The first time it was delicious. The sandwich is generous and at first you’re overwhelmed by its size, not sure where to enter. It’s also kind of messy, but in a good way. The second time I had it — it had raw yolk on the bread and had so much aioli I had to scrape it off the bread with a knife. Totally killed the entire sandwich. Drinks: I’ve had their mimosa and the pimms cup. The mimosa was pretty standard and the pimms cup was delicious as long as you chug it. Otherwise, it gets very watery and loses all its flavor. The look and feel of this place is great, but their service and food consistency needs work.
