For over ten years Ancient Blends products have been a staple for my hair and skincare. I particularly love the sacred hair and scalp oil. The Cowrie Shell Center provides a calming environment where you can nourish your body and your spirit. I am very thankful for the many wonderful experiences I have had there over the years. I don’t trust anyone else with my hair but Yendys. I’ve been coming here since a few months after I started my locs in 2010 and she works wonders! She only uses natural products on your hair, many of which she makes herself. If it’s nice outside, she’ll style your hair in the relaxing garden out back. She’ll offer you tea. She is a beautiful person inside and out, and getting your hair done by her is really a relaxing, peaceful experience. The environment is soul affirming and she is really committed to treating your hair/​mind/​body/​spirit. I want to emphasize that not only do you leave looking fly but your hair feels healthy and you feel uplifted! I refer all my friends and anyone looking for a loctitian or natural hair professional to the cowrie shell center!

Yes to great natural hair care!
When I had waist length locs I turned to Yendys to treat my scalp and get my long, heavy locs in order. In order did she put them! She is very masterful with natural hair and her unique treatments have done wonders to my hair.
Now I’m a loose natural, but my hair needs TLC every now and then and I’m happy I’m able to turn to her for a trim, a tea scalp treatment and a good talk.
She creates her own natural hair products that are available for purchase, along with books such as Afros by Michael July.
The Cowrie Shell Center is a great place to go to get in tune with your hair and your health.
