Picked up the four chairs my wife and I ordered from Chair Market and we could not be happier. We were about to have our chairs made to order in a small Pennsylvania Dutch establishment. We went to Chair Market on a whim and found the perfect chairs right here in Brooklyn. And, we probably saved hundreds of dollars to boot! Our chairs are made of solid Beachwood and very sturdy. Sure, we found a few imperfections but very insignificant and really not readily noticeable. Jacob was very helpful and even found the perfect shade of Naugahyde seat material to match our kitchen. Thanks, Chair Market, from two very happy customers!

Do not shop here. If you do business, do not let Jacob M. be your sales person. He asked for my debit card information before I left the shop, before he ordered any stools for me. I was uncertain about the height of the stools fitting under my island correctly. I asked him to wait until I got home, remeasured first, before taking financial information. He claimed he couldn’t. When I got home, I emailed him and asked him not to put through the order until I had a chance to recheck the height. He responded in an email saying that he’d hold off on placing the order. Okay, great. An hour or so later, I had time to measure and remeasure and found that unlike what Jacob had said in the store, the stools I was wanting to order WERE the correct height. So I called him, got him on the phone and said, «PLACETHEORDER! They’ll work!» He said, «Oh, okay then. they are the right height. Fine. I WILLPLACETHEORDER.» I reminded him I was having a party in a few weeks and needed the stools. He assured me they be into the Brooklyn shop in plenty of time for the party was still six weeks off. He told me he’d contact me when they came in. «Anything else?» I asked. «Nope. We’re good. I’ve got your card and I’ll place the order. I’ll call you when they come in.» Two weeks, then three went by. No call. The fourth week since I ordered and was told I’d paid in full for them via debit card came. I decided to call. I got Jacob and much to my surprise he not only hadn’t ordered them, but this 27 year old guy had absolutely NORECOLLECTION(or so he claimed) of our phone conversation. I told him I found it pretty disturbing that a person so young, could not remember this interaction at all with the customer. He became belligerent when I brought up the money aspect and that now I’d have to call my bank and make sure the transaction didn’t go through. He became irate(not me… wait what’s wrong with this picture… shouldn’t the person who ordered stools after making a 30 mile journey to their store, paid for them or so I thought and isn’t going to get the merchandise I paid for, be angry? but oddly, he was angry). He put the phone down on his desk in the middle of the shop, began talking to co-workers and hung up. We found the owner and called him directly to report Jacob’s actions and bizarre and inappropriate reactions(he’s a salesman who is supposed to order chairs for customers). We reported to the owner how we had to cancel the debit card and that cost $ 15.00, plus the fare into and out of town to cancel the card which had to be done at the main branch in order to get a replacement card immediately. This place is poorly run. The merchandise is so/so and Jacob is an unprofessional, rude brat with an attitude and an unreliable memory for one so young. Shop anywhere else.
