We went here one night for dinner. We wanted to order a specialty pizza but with one less of the toppings but were told no. We were take a bit aback that we couldn’t custom order our pizza. And then we weren’t impressed with our pie anyway. On the other hand, their Italian ice is amazing!

The choices you have for a bite to eat in the area are limited. Luckily this little place has some good pizza. Had a personal pie freshly made with spinach and pepperoni and it was worth every penny. If you’re in the neighborhood and want a quick bite stop by.

After a long day in the area and having missed lunch, my fiancé and I had the good fortune to happen upon The Aurora Pizza Café in Bensonhurst! Not serving slices, but small pies instead, we shared a 6-slice pizza that was sublime. The crust was perfection in that it was the ideal combination of the traditional NY slice and thinner gourmet style that has made its’ mark over the last decade. The sauce was delectable being fresh and not overly acidic It was also delightfully spiced negating the need for additional spices at the table. The mozzarella was a delicious counterpoint to the crust and sauce. This is the best pizza my fiancé and I have eaten in Brooklyn. It is about 6 miles from where we live and we still would consider making the trip for their pies. How great is that?!

I had the pepperoni and mozzarella roll. The ingredients were fresh and it was loaded with pepperonis but I couldn’t taste the mozzarella. The dough is baked to perfection — not too burnt. However, the roll was way too oily. The roll was made on the spot unlike many other pizzerias where they premake it and reheat it. The staff are a bit rude, abrupt, and depressed looking. I did not feel welcomed at all.

Fresh chicken rolls and overall quality ingredients! Each roll is made fresh per order, not like many pizza spots where they are made already and then heated. Great prices as well.

I’ve had two experiences with this place. The first experience: I called and asked if they made Chicken Fettucine Alfredo and the woman I spoke with said yes, but not on Fettucine, but on Spaghetti. Fine, no problem. I ordered my food and I must say, it was delicious. I was very pleased. My second experience: I called and asked the person on the phone for an order of Chicken Alfredo. The guy sounded like he was new. He was not knowledgable and you could tell in the hesitation in his voice he didn’t know the menu at all. He asked me where on the menu did I see Chicken Alfredo. I said I would call him back so I could look at the menu. Due to my previous experience with the food being good, I decided I would let it slide and attempt to give them service again. Besides, if the guy I spoke to on the phone was new, then I could deal with that because hey, we’ve all been there. Plus, it’s not like he was rude or anything. So when I called back and asked for Spaghetti with Alfredo sauce with Grilled Chicken, the same guy I spoke with, was having a hard time inputting my order into the system so he asked someone to help him. The person he was speaking to may have been one of the cooks because this is exactly what he said«well what does she want? Pasta with Alfredo? Or chicken? Because those are two separate orders». The«cook» was very rude in his tone and sounded as though he was bothered by having to answer the questions. I don’t understand the drama with this order. Have these people NEVER heard of Pasta with Alfredo WITH Chicken? Then, when the guy on the phone asked the«cook» to melt some cheese on the dish(as per my request) the«cook» came out and said very nastily«tell her we don’t do that! Sorry!» What? You can’t take 2 minutes to put some mozzarella cheese on a plate of spaghetti with alfredo and chicken? Seriously? At that point I was so turned off and it’s a shame because after my first experience, I was raving about this place to my friends and now… well let’s just say I won’t be going there anymore. This place get’s two stars for the good food I had from my first experience.

The spinach and creamy alfredo pizza is to die for! Absolutely fabulous. Every time I call to place an order they are polite, friendly and patient with my questions. Love this place.

Called in to order for delivery and the man was incredibly rude because my voice sounds young. My father even told him over the phone that I am 20 years old and reliable to make the order but he insisted he would not take the order from me and hung up the phone after I tried to speak. I understand you may not want a young person to make an order because they may not be trustworthy. but I had two family members telling him I am indeed justified to make the order. My brother called back and ordered our food instead since we didn’t have any other menus on hand. This rating is just for the service and not the food. Horrible service and do not plan to order again in the future.

Great food. My boyfriend & I order the personal pizzas all of the time; starting at $ 3.00 each you can’t go wrong. They have the rice ball special(rice balls split in half toped with tomato sauce and melted mozzarella), this is the first time I tried it and really enjoyed it. The serve it friendly, a bit slow; but that’s because everything is made fresh. Delivery is quick, but make sure you repeat yourself some of the delivery orders had items missing.

Best place tucked away and a little forgotten in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, taking you back to the good old 1970’s Aurora still serves excellent food without picking your pocket. Great pizza’s made in an open clean clean kitchen. The chicken cutlet parm makes your feel like cruzin” 86th street under the El again. Mama is serving the espresso, while you can watch soccer from the wide screen. Pleasant atmosphere that brings you back in time. Have a relaxed meal, your won’t regret it!

This review has nothing to do with pizza. I hate pizza*. Really, I do. This review has everything to do with the service I’ve received on a few mornings when I’ve picked up iced coffees for the famiglia and hot cocoas for myself. The staff is always so pleasant and they put so much effort into making a simple hot cocoa that it sometimes makes me want to cry. I haven’t had a person steam the milk for my hot cocoa in a little shop like this in such a long time. Always friendly, always quick… On second thought, maybe I will be back to try the pizza. —- * OK, I sort of lied. I’m obsessed with Ellio’s and Two Boots.

Good local pizza joint. Besides the slices which are above average they also make good italian dishes like chicken/eggplant parm and they have hot and cold heroes too. Pretty decent sized sitting area with a café in the back. Kind of a quiet area by the D train and pretty barren at night which is why it probably closes early.

Along with good pizza made fresh to order — no slices but they do make personal pies — Aurora has great Italian dishes from ziti with meat sauce to Stuffed Shells with Chicken Parmigiana. Almost all the food is made fresh, even the calzones aren’t sitting there. The place has seats in the café it shares the building with, but it’s definitely not a fancy place. I usually just grab my food to go or have it delivered. Whether you’re getting a pizza or a main dish I’d recommend this place. I just wish it were open later on Saturdays!
