Their Guilin rice noodle is absolutely the best. They may have switched the toppings a bit compared to the rice noodle I had in Guilin but it’s still so tasty

I would recommend calling and placing your order through the phone and coming here 15 mins later to pick up your food. The wait actually isn’t that long(10 mins?) if you order in person, but they do get a lot of customers, and since I usually don’t eat here I would just prefer calling, picking my food up, and getting out of there. The place doesn’t seem that pleasant. A bit unsanitary and a bit dingy. They do have a TV that broadcast shows or the news, but all in Chinese. Don’t be afraid if you speak only English as I’ve seen plenty of people who only spoke English to the lady at the cashier and she spoke fine. I normally get the stir fry chicken gui lin noodles or the vegetable version. I don’t really recommend the rice dishes as you can get better ones in other places for the same prices, but do check out their gui lin noodles since they specialize in them. Also, if a dish name has a pepper next to it, to signal that it’s spicy, trust me it’s spicy. So if you can’t handle spice that well, I don’t recommend getting those dishes.

Worst restaurant ever!!! We come here all the time!!! But their nasty attitude has finally done it. Waited 30 minutes for a take out and still not ready yet, I simply complained a bit and said if I have to wait longer than you should just return my money since they made food for everyone else that came after me that are dining in. The chef rudely yelled and screamed, «take your money» «can’t you see it’s only one chef» and«why didn’t you tell me earlier you want to cancel?» What!?? Like I am supposed to know that you are slow and rude and shady? Why didn’t you tell me you were short handed before I place my order? Just unreal! Instead of saying«sorry, just give me a few…» I guess their business is too good? They don’t need customers. Me and my family will no longer be their supporter. Good food without good service equals zero. Take care you awful man.

I got to say I am very disappointed. It’s unauthentic for sure. Authentic Guilin noodle should has no tomato, green pepper, red pepper and it should has lot of sour string bean and fry peanuts on top. I pay extra for sour bean and dry beef.

I’m seriously hooked on the rice noodles here! I have tried rice noodles with seafood both fried and in soup, and they are good. Like other reviews mentioned, the rice noodle here is thicker, maybe a little hard if you are not a chopsticks native, but it’s more chewy and tasty with thicker noodles! I think the fried noodles are better than the soup noodles, because my soup was a little bland so I added a lot of vinegar. I’m going to try their Guilin Specialties next time.

The guilin noodle taste amazing again, maybe because they increase the price rather than decrease the quality of the food. It went from $ 5 to $ 6.50 now. Even with the price increase, I will definitely come back for this. :)

Not impressed at all. This was the alternative that my cousin suggested to Flavors of Yunnan on 52nd street. This is a very Fujian/Canton spin on Yunnan cuisine. Not authentic at all We ordered the special #1 and beef stew noodles. I also got a plum juice for 1.50 that I downed in 5 minutes because I was so thirsty. We didn’t have to wait too long for the noodles. The dish itself is «dry» with just house seasoning but it comes with a side of soup. The seasoning tasted like nothing but soy sauce. No flavor. Nothing. It was also super salty I had to pour all the soup in to dilute the taste. The toppings were good but they were just pork and brisket slices. Weren’t very Yunnan at all. It felt more like Cantonese toppings. I do give them credit for the noodles though. They were al dente! What saved the dish was the house hot sauce/hot oil. I put two teaspoons of hot sauce and it instantly elevated the dish. But overall a disappointment. Will go back to my fave Yunnan restaurant further down sunset park.

This is an okay place to grab a quick lunch. Located next to the Fei Long Supermarket. A small noodle place with limited seating. A good selection of noodle dishes on the menu. We had the crispy pig intestines. Which I thought were okay. Could have been a little better. Needed to be a little more crispy. We had the beef stew noodle soup and the conch noodle soup. Both had a lot of noodles. The beef stew was flavorful and had a lot of beef. The conch was a little disappointing because there was hardly any conch in the noodles. Otherwise it’s just sweet and sour. Cheap and quick place to go to.

Best Rice Noodle you can get in NYC. My friends and I would drive more than one hour from Long Island to Brooklyn just to have the Guilin Favor Rice Noodle. Haven’t been disappointed once.

The only place that was open around the area at 10pm so I came for a late night drunchie. I shared an order of giulin rice noodles and 3 skewers: lamb, beef, bacon and enoki. The skewers were kind of dry… I wouldn’t get them if I were you, they didn’t taste very fresh either and definitely overpriced compared to what you pay at the carts. The giulin rice noodles were really good! Fair portions and very flavorful. I like the broth that it came with, it was refreshing. I would’ve given it 4 stars but the skewers brought it down. They offer a check in offer for free potato skewers but they no longer honor that, just a heads up for anyone who wants to use it. No need to tip because everything is self served.

I’m all for trying different cuisines and this small hole-in-the-wall presented the perfect opportunity. I can’t speak on whether this restaurant captures the true Guilin flavors but I’d say it’s very good and very different than any other kind of noodle I’ve had in the US. The rice noodles are pretty slippery and thin, though much thicker than other dried Asian noodles I’ve had. The toppings varied from pork rinds to pickled vegetables. It’s definitely very interesting and definitely worth the $ 5.50 a bowl.

I love this place! I don’t come here for its setting or service(not a nice restaurant and it is self-service), simply for their delicious food. I have tried most of the noodles from their menu and my top favorites are number 1 Guilin noodles and their spicy chicken noodles. I also like their crispy intestines and fried rice. Their fried noodles are pretty good but I enjoy Guilin style noodle better! Their beef stew rice is okay but it has pungent smell that throws some people off. Price ranges from 5 – 7! Cheap eats!!! Delicious food! The food here reminds me of Shan noodles but of course unique in its own way.

I love nothing more than finding new spots and trying them out. I get sick pleasure from it. lol. On my way to my favorite dumpling place in Brooklyn’s Chinatown I passed by this small little restaurant with newspaper clippings in the window that raved about the restaurant. okay, so now when I see such things, I have an automatic reflex of pulling out my phone and Unilocaling it. with only about 20 reviews and three and a half stars, why not give it a try. Taste of Guilin is said to have authentic Gui Lin style noodles from the region of Gui Lin in China. Unaware of what these noodle were I decided to just try them. We ordered simple. Guilin style rice noodle, which is a bowl of noodles, and atop the noodles are slices of pork, cilantro, peanuts, and some veggies. It also comes with a small cup of broth. An order of the beef tendon noodle soup, an order of crispy fried pork intestines and an order of beef and peppers over rice. I enjoyed the rice noodles. It was basically the same thing as the soup minus the broth. though, the noodles were not too dry where you felt like you would choke on them. They had moisture to them and I preferred them to the soup. I also noticed a different consistency to the noodles, it had more of a chewy texture, which I liked. I’m not sure if it was the«Gui Lin» style noodle or my mind playing tricks and wanting it to be different lol. Either way, it was different. The soup was okay. I’m not that much of a soup person in the first place, so for me to like soup it has to be outstanding, but it was just okay. the crispy fried pork intestines were my favorite! they were soooo yummy and crispy and fresh! the dipping sauce they gave was kind of like a sweet and sour sauce, perfect compliment to them. the beef and peppers were just as good. Taste of Guilin also offers a variety of fresh brewed cold teas. I believe I had a chrysanthemum tea but it was amazing. loved it! They offer a variety and I have only tasted a little of what they have. I will defiantly be back to try more stuff. Especially their most talked about potato stick, which I think is just deep fried potatoes rings on a stick lol. They are fairly cheap eats and the woman at the couter is very nice and helpful!

Best GuiLin style rice noodle in NYC! But remember: to get authentic Guilin style rice noodle, don’t add your soup in to the noodle at all. And it’s not like the traditional noodle house, so don’t order any noodles other than Guilin style rice noodle.

Get the Guilin style rice noodles. So good, so cheap, and the crispy pork adds so much more texture to it. Sadly, they don’t give you hot sauce to go unless you ask for it. Tons of other meats too, and reasonably healthy(compared to the other oily Chinese food you can get in the area).

I had a lot of high hopes for this noodle shop, because I LOVED Gui Lin(a far away place in China) style noodles when I was there for visits. I had the Hot Spicy Rice Noodle Soup, and it was a little disappointing. The soup is a little too sour and the noodles were not rice noodles(more like the clear mung bean noodles). My friend had the Beef Stew Rice Noodles, and he liked it. So a 3 star? I will give it another try. I will lower my expectation this time…

8th ave noodle shops are a plenty but this one is branded as the only authentic Guilinese Cuisine in NY! The place is clean and the atmosphere is like a Chinese fast food place. The chef wears a uniform which is an added plus. Lol My grandparents told me about their Guilin(Chicharron) Rice Noodle that only costs $ 5. It is served with the soup on the side and even though the chef told me to add the soup when I was halfway done with the noodles, I just ate it without. It was so delicious! The meats were a variety of crispy pork skin and some other cut. The unique flavor was something I never tasted and that’s pretty unique considering the sameness of many Chinese noodles nowadays. My autistic son loved them as well and ate his bowl clean. I will definitely return to eat this Guilin noodle again. This might be the start of a new noodle revolution.

I had their potato skewers, which looks really cool and it was only 1 dollar! It comes in a few flavors, ketchup, cheese, BBQ, or chili. I had the BBQ flavor and it taste like potato chips but cooler on a stick. I also had one of their noodles. The name was in Chinese. I have no idea how to translate it into English. Basically it was rice noodles with a bunch of toppings and it was average, nothing spectacular.
