My colleagues and I came in on a Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the end of the school year. I was not apart of the planning of this particular outing but Sunshine Co is definitely a great space for a small party. There were plenty of seats at the bar and on the outskirts for us to mingle. If I remember correctly there was a menu with various cocktails starting at $ 11. Fries and flatbreads were also floating around for people to nibble on. didn’t get a chance to try the Brussel sprouts but they looked delicious and the whole bar was filled with Brussel sprout aroma when they were being prepared. The service was speedy, attentive, and friendly. Overall, Sunshine Co is a sweet little spot for cocktails and intimate evening with a small group of friends. I would definitely return and recommend to anyone in the area.

We dropped in for an early Sunday brunch and the place was already humming. Went with the Brussel sprouts hash, which was too heavy-handed with spice, and the biscuits with sausage gravy, which had way too much pepper(yes, even for sausage gravy). Our server never brought the butter & jam she asked a few follow-up questions about, but water was filled quickly by other staff.

Looking for a Sunday Brunch spot in Brooklyn? Go no further! The Steak and Eggs were elevated by the excellent potatoes, and a Habanero salsa that had the perfect mix of heat and citrus! Others in the party had the house burger, and generous BLT, raves all! Excellent service in a cool atmosphere! Get there.

You know I think this spot might stand a chance in this hood(maybe)! We came in for a drink and I had a cocktail — Call the Cavalry, bourbon and cynar based drink, similar to an old fashioned but more bitter than sweet. It was good despite my aversion to this artichoke-based liquor. Bar tender was super cool with us, we stayed a while and he wasn’t in our face all the time. Food looked good even thought we didn’t get anything — interesting combinations of things here, it seems. Some potentially offensive pairings so maybe next time we’ll take the plunge. Drink prices are pretty standard($ 11 for cocktails, $ 6 – 8 for beers). Check out this spot it’s got a good vibe; felt nice on a cold night.

Sunshine & Co. is my go-to place when I’m not craving some specific cuisine. It’s nothing crazy innovative – it’s American food cooked and seasoned well and served by a friendly staff. Dinner and brunch are both good and prices are reasonable.

Went to Sunshine Co for bunch and was pleasantly surprised. The place was super busy but we got a great table in the back for four within five minutes. The hostess was super friendly. Our waitress Teresa L was awesome. She took our orders right away and was able to answer our questions that we had about particular dishes and drinks. Two of us ordered the Paloma to drink which was delicious. Tequila, grapefruit and lime; how can you go wrong. The peppermint tea and Honey and Mint lemonade were also a hit. To eat two of us got the Brussel Sprout Hash which was fantastic and heard it was a popular dish. The cheese toast with blood orange, ricotta and honey was amazing. As was the Kale salad. I highly recommend Sunshine Co if you are looking for a brunch spot.

Loved the lighting in this space! Very open and warm. It only took about 30 mins on a Sat night where we had no reservations for 4 of us, so that wasn’t bad. Especially since their Old Fashion’s were on point. Their food was absolutely solid & spectacular. I had the Fettuccine with wild mushrooms and a delicious creamy buttery sauce that was so perfectly filling. Can wait to come back to experience more of this place, highly recommend it!

Came on a Wednesday night. There were a few people sitting at the bar. But empty overall. Nice atmosphere, dimly lit, soft music playing in the background. I opted to sit at the bar. I was immediately greeted, given a menu and water. The bartender was super friendly and very handy. You can always tell when someone is serious about their craft. He was very knowledgeable and did wonderful things with bourbon & whiskey. I never do a bartenders choice but after 2 good cocktails and conversation, I was satisfied he wouldn’t disappoint. I can’t remember exactly what was in the drink but it did involve bourbon, fernet and lemon. Not for the faintest of palates but right up my alley. I was happy their kitchen was open late because I was starved. It took awhile for my food to come out. Which was shocking considering I was the only person who ordered food in the entire place. The other two parties there were just drinking. I ordered the prosciutto flatbread with house made ricotta for appetizer. Shrimp and grits for entrée. Overall the food was okay. The flatbread was on the soggy side. The ricotta was very well made. You can’t go wrong when adding prosciutto and fresh basil. If the texture was crisper it would’ve been a solid dish. The shrimp and grits was a little underwhelming. The grits were a little lumpy. That’s a big pet peeve of mine. The shrimp were slightly overcooked. They dumped a whole bunch of onions, chives and parsley on top. The whole dish was under seasoned. Onions played a big part in the flavor. Overall it was decent late night eat. Few execution errors. But I respect the chefs vision.

Ehh… If you’re into flavorful food, I wouldn’t do it. We ordered a burger, shrimp and grits, steak and eggs and eggs Benedict. The meals were very disappointing and the modifications we requested we’re the done quite right. The steak was very tiny(like half of a palm) but tasty My aunt asked for regular poached instead of soft poached and basically received hard boiled eggs. I asked for cheesy grits and received terrible grits with cheese sprinkled on top. Our server never asked us how the meal was or if everything was ok… We sucked it up, at lease we tried it. If you don’t care much about flavor or decent service, go for it. The menu is unique.

I went for brunch last week and had a great experience. We were lucky and arrived just before the brunch rush around 1p. The brussel sprouts hash is very unique and tasty. We would order it again! We also had the baked eggs and it was delicious. Overall this place was just great, the service, the food and the atmosphere. Try to get there before the rush and grab a seat away from the crowd.

Brussels sprouts hash was AMAZING. I had it without bacon(boo but i’m a veg) and still so flavorful and pefectly done. Bloody mary was good but a little on the sweet side. Service is friendly and great.

I like Sunshine and Co. but I probably wouldn’t decide to go here unless someone I know really wanted to. I felt like the service was alright and everyone was friendly, but the spot was really tiny for the demand. I also felt like they charged a bit much for coffee, most brunch places just give that to you with your meal or have some form of deal with it. The coffee was good though. The food was alright too, but idk I didn’t love my experience there, I also didn’t hate it either. The place just needs a bit of improvement.

Ordered: Pomegranate rickey, Citrus french toast, Cheese toast, and Brussel sprout hash Pros– The smokiness of the brussel sprout dish was amazing. The toast had a great contrast between the sweet cranberry compote and the savory cheese. Cons– The french toast’s bread was too heavy and the only citrust element from the dish seemed to be a small dollop of cranberry compote. This was a disappointing dish.

Went here for brunch. The food was awesome. Absolutely wonderful, no complaints. The chefs here are great and clearly know what they’re doing. The biscuits and gravy are the sh*t. The only negative of the whole experience was the service. They dropped the check the second they cleared our plates and without asking if we wanted another round or if they could get us anything else. I’m server. I get the concept of turn-and-burn when you have a busy brunch service, but you have to do it without letting the customer know you’re doing it, and they made it pretty clear they were trying to get us out. And we were there for an hour tops. Other than that, it’s great food in a lovely environment.

A group of 5 of us were initially trying to go to Tom’s across the street for brunch, but due to the line up and time constraints, we were forced to abandon that plan and head for Sunshine Co. I always wondered about this place from the many times I waited in line across the street. Well, I found the feel of the place very charming but the food average. I got the eggs Benedict. I enjoyed the dish but there was no wow factor or something that set it apart from all other brunch places that serve eggs Benedict. I also nibbled on someone else’s Brussels hash dish, which again I found enjoyable but missing some«umph». As someone who loves brussel sprouts and makes them regularly at home, I don’t think the brussel sprout hash is something special enough where I would want to pay that price tag. Given that, ambiance and service was pleasant. So, if I were in the area again and struggling to go somewhere, I’d consider coming back… Still undecided.

Following a recent Saturday afternoon at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, my friends and I used the Unilocal app to find a nearby restaurant that met all our dietary needs within walking distance. Sunshine Co. fit the bill. We were quickly able to grab a seat near the front of the restaurant before the dinner dash. Our server was very nice, and quickly brought us some glasses of rose while we pondered the menu. Though a bit limited in scope, everything sounded delicious and we decided on a few entrees. I ordered the Pork Ragu Parpadelle and absolutely loved it. Portions were nicely sized and the food came quickly. I did feel like we were rushed out of the restaurant when the bill was dropped on our table as the entrée plates were being cleared, without ever being offered a second round of drinks or dessert, which was off-putting. There were a number of people waiting to sit down, but we spent over $ 100 on our bill in under and hour, and would have appreciated a bit more time(and food) to appreciate the restaurant.

I am enamored with this place. Stopped by on a beautiful Saturday with two of my lady friends after visiting Brooklyn Botanic. We were seated outdoors which was perfect. Service was excellent and everything we ordered was delicious. If you’re a fan of brussel sprouts you must get it from here — we actually ordered another one after we devoured the first. The charred baby octopus was a bit salty but perhaps it was an off day. My friend raved about her roasted beet salad. The mushroom flatbread was very tasty. I’m always a sucker for chicken pot pie and the black truffle version offered here certainly lived up to my expectations. I am really looking forward to making another visit here. What a gem!

Oh yaaaaas. Sunshine Co. is nearly the perfect brunch spot. What’s wrong with it? It’s too small a space for the demand, so it gets loud and people constantly bump into you while you’re eating. But the food! And the coffee! And the service! All were worth the 20-minute wait. Didn’t even finish my meal and I was full for 8 hours. Hope to be back for dinner and drinks.

Hubby took me here on our first post-baby dinner date!(Definitely helps that we live half a block away.) This place is easy to miss with no awning and the restaurant name only written on the door. Once you get inside, it’s really lovely with a laid-back, hushed ambiance. We shared the burrata cheese bruschetta, which was so delicious that Hubby has been craving it ever since. He ordered the pork ragu parpardelle, which was a large and hearty dish. I opted for the black truffle chicken pot pie which was decadent, warm, and filling. I only wish there was more flaky pie crust on top, but the waiter kindly gave us some extra bed when we asked to soak up all the yumminess. I had the Crimson Sour cocktail, which was also delicious! The bartender took obvious pride in his work, taking his time on each cocktail. They were beautiful as well as tasty! Loved this place! Definitely want to try their brunch and also their early bird burger special.

Living in prospect heights is a gift and a curse. The gift… so many different yummy spots to try that become staple. The curse… so many different yummy spots to try that become staple. Arrrrgggggghhhhhhh, the agony. A friend and I came to this spot one evening for dinner. I wouldn’t know it was Sunshine Co due to the lack of signage. The décor is pretty… a lil rustic, but with polish to it. My one complaint is for the chairs. Now many people may not have an issue with chairs… but my backside appreciates a cushion or full seat to accommodate the entire buttocks… I digress. As for the food… can you say DELISH. I had the burger with a side of Brussel sprouts. Yes, weird combo but I couldn’t help it. Lately I’ve had this thing for Brussel Sprouts and had to get it when I saw it on the menu. That maple mustard and apples does amazing things to the sprouts once in your mouth… OMGSOGOOD! The burger was not the star in comparison but it was equally yummy. My friend cleaned the steak off her plate . The service was awesome. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. Just so you know… do not be surprised to see me at the bar with a white wine and a side of Brussel sprouts every other day.
