I don’t know if it had been a long night or what(I’m in food service myself) but I have to say something. It started when we walked in and stood for a solid 5 minutes before even being acknowledged by the waitstaff. we seated ourselves and walked over to the bar, trying to find the menus. the food system was sloppily and slurringly explained by one bartender I spoke to(no hate on the other one, who was friendly and warm) so that we couldn’t understand what the food process was. the same bartender also told my boyfriend that while they had club maté listed on the blackboard«he had drunk it all already» ??? my boyfriend is gluten-free – for medical reasons; eating even a little gluten makes him have stomach problems for weeks – and asked the kitchen, slightly belatedly, to leave his sausage off the bun. the man stared at him, then angrily grabbed the sausage off the bun and pushed the tray towards him with a snarky attitude – even though buns weren’t listed on the menu(I guess it should have been obvious, but still… not a very hard maneuver). it was so weird. the food has turned out to be really good, but the service is pretty awful here.

Give me a beer, a warm toasty fireplace, and a snowy NYC day and I’m happy! Spritzenhaus is a really cool bar located in my new neighborhood and at first glance, I’m a pretty big fan! I did not partake in any of the food but enjoyed watching what others were ordering and am looking forward to trying some at some point. My beer was good, a local draft IPA!!! The crowd itself seemed pretty chill and that’s important in a good local bar!!! I look forward to returning and experiencing the bar when the windows are open and it’s not so chilly outside!

Great location, pretty sure this is better during the summer when you can sit outside. For the most part friendly staff and good food, their waffle fries are Delish!(try it with the sweet and spicy BBQ sauce) This place is great for a group, since you have Jenga available you would be here all night with a big group Overall great experience!

Ive been here before and I have loved it! Today was slightly different… the lines in the Narragansett tap are unclean and when I asked the bartender to please smell it and taste it, he said that is how the beer has always tasted. This was frustrating as 3 other people had tasted it said it smelled off and tasted different than it usually does. I asked for a replacement beer and the bartender asked me to pay an extra three dollars to cover the difference. I said, really? The beer is spoiled? And he said it was a three dollar difference and did not taste weird to him. In conclusion, he shouldn’t have asked me to cover the difference of a beer that was spoiled. Its frustrating to me that the bartenders dont have the palette to taste how awful the beer is or when the lines are unclean.

Amazing space for groups– really big inside, large tables, and natural light coming in from the vast array of windows! Plenty of beer and cider options, such as strawberry beer & pear cider, and Belgian fries on the menu to satisfy the hunger. Bartenders are friendly and the overall crowd was laid back. I’m not sure how busy this place gets on a weekend night, but on a Sunday afternoon, it was an awesome place to spend with a group. The bathroom was clean and it had an old school step-pedal sink. I love the rustic atmosphere of this place.

Great service, good food, awesome beer & super cool with our kids(& we had 4 of them!!) — could not have asked for better. Keep up the good work Vance! The chicken sausage with sauerkraut was so delish & so was the kale salad. I liked the vegan sausage but others were not so impressed.

When I first walked up to the door of Spritzenhaus, a man carded me. I gave him the card and he looked at it, then at me and said«Oh, sorry.». So, I’m not sure how I feel about that :/ The actual bar/restaurant was great! Fun music that sounded live, even though it wasn’t. The décor was spot on for the season — tasteful without being too Xmas. The joint was packed, but that’s to be expected in the location. The space was very nice and a whole lot bigger than what I expected for the area. Good food. Good drinks. Nice atmosphere and lively. A good, solid 4.

Probably my favorite NYC beer garden: — excellent beer selection(obvious), but they have a lot of cocktail/wine selections as well if you come with a group where not everyone is as excited about Kostritzer as you are. — fries and pretzels: best bar food categorically, and Spritzenhaus does both really well. The accompanying range of dipping sauces are an excellent touch. The variety of sausages is also decent, though the prices are on the high side when they aren’t coming with any sort of side. — lots of space, plenty of tables(including the ability to reserve them in advance, which, again, is a bonus if you’re planning a big group day out), and garage-door style walls which open up wide to the outside on nice days. — Jenga is available. Like fries and pretzels, it is an excellent accompaniment to beer. Prepare to fight for a set, though!

Nice long tables, a warm fireplace, huge beer selection and warm pretzels. What else could you ask for? The décor is also very attractive as it appears to occupy what was once an auto body shop equipped with open garage doors and belt ceiling fans. A destination bar if visiting Williamsburg or Greenpoint.

This huge beer garden has the following: — a couple of huge bars — a whole lot of German beer options on tap — huge garage-style windows that open when it gets warm outside — a sweet view of the small park, right across the street — a shit-ton of birthday parties — a bzillion families with teenagers, toddlers and babies that reserve the communal tables for said parties Due to the Chucky Cheese-esque ambiance, I’m def NOT hittin this spot up, no mo’ Sawree.

Food: 4.5 Drinks: 5 Ambiance: 4 Popped in for a late mid afternoon lunch and drinks around 2:30 on a Sunday. Cool vibe, laid back and industrial. It’s seat yourself and you order at the bar. There were a surprising number of families with young children and babies, not necessary bad but just unexpected. Place was packed later in the afternoon. We had the krainerwurst(garlic pork and beef brat with a chipotle aioli) topped with the jalapeño jicama coleslaw. The brat was hot and tasty on its own, the bun was crunchy and buttery, and the slaw was a refreshing light pairing(not spicy, if anyone has delicate tastebuds). We also had the Belgian fries which was a decent portion, and moderately crispy. We got two sauces — the mustard jalapeño aioli was a mild mustard flavor, creamy, though no real jalapeño kick, and the sweet and spicy BBQ was a thinner tangy sauce that was a good counterpoint to the richness of the aioli. The beer list is fantastic, expansive and includes some pretty unique beers. Got the Allagash Tripel, which hit the spot. Grab a Jenga set and you’ll have a great time. Good food, great value, would come back.

If I could go to this establishment every dang day — I would. But alas — it is a place I was able to go on vacation. Williamsburg was my favorite neighbor in Brooklyn — so much to see and do. But this restaurant was great! It is not only family friendly — but also great for groups, work space, etc. It’s pretty much as good as it gets. I also must say, the bar staff is extremely easy on the eyes. Hellloooo. BUT to the food and drinks. The Kentucky Mule is absolutely amazing. A must. And the fries — get every dipping sauce and try them all. My absolute favorite was BYFAR the Maple Siracha. I mean — the taste was so sweet. So hot. So perfect. I wanted to take shots of it, but decided against that. And last but not least — JENGA. I can’t wait to return to the city and go here!

Came here for drinks on a Friday Good place, really spacious. I can’t comment on the food but the beer selection was fantastic. I ended up settling for a liter(or two) of Narraganset. I was happy with my choice(until the next day) I would be happy to come back

I would give this place five stars, but I haven’t had the chance to try the food, and it’s a little off-putting at the fact that you get carded before you enter a place that allows CHILDREN. Yes, children, whether they’re over the age of three years old, or in a carrier sling worn by a mom or dad taking swigs from a pint of craft beer. Every time I’m the area, something makes me want to walk in. I don’t know what makes it so alluring; maybe it’s the bouncer chilling outside chatting it up with patrons or the cafeteria style tables outside. Every time I’ve followed my instincts and come, I’ve always been satisfied. The beer selection is just amazing. They have Southern Tier Pumpking on tap! Need I say more?

Great beer hall. You have the big wooden communal tables. You have the wide beer selection. You have the German sausages. You have the loud boisterous company. What more could you want?

The widest selection of draught beers and ales. The food is pretty simple but what do you need in the brewhouse? And Jenga is always for customers which is really good when you are with a child.

I’ve been here twice before. A beergarten through and through but ridiculously priced for what it’s worth. I’ve had the food and it’s as interesting an experience as it comes. It’s noisy as all hell, as can be expected but finding seating is an exercise in futility on busy nights. What’s on the menu? well duh, brats and beer! Pick a sausage meat, and grab a pint. If that doesn’t float your boat, your last recourse is a pretzel or possibly fries all of which taste good. The beer selection is vast and slightly dizzying. Best biergarten, I can’t say that for sure. There’s too much North Brooklyn mixed in to call it authentic. If you don’t know what that means, go figure it out for yourself. The only highlights I might point out are the cool looking fireplace and the fact that all the windows open out to get good light exposure to make the entire hall seem outdoors.

This place is located in a cute neighborhood in green’spoint/ willyburg a few mins walk from the subway station. We came here after visiting the craft and arts fair in brooklyn expo center wanting to get some food and drinks. I like this place for the fact that it’s not super crowded and has more sunlight than some of the other ones in this neighborhood. Their belgium fries are pretty good and comes in many types of sauces that you can choose from!(one complimentary one) — i got the banh mi flavor which is a mix of sweet and spicy. me likely! for beer they have a great selection too and great selection of sausages. I had the strawberry beer which i think is by far my fave beer so far! woot!

One of the best beer gardens in Ny! It’s always a delicious and fun time with the great beer they have on tap as well as the food selection. They even have vegan sausage that is very on par with the rest of the delicious items on the menu. Came here several times with just my significant other as well as a large party and had a great time all times that I came. It’s a fun laid back atmosphere.

I left the meatball spot and my partner in food time! Took me to this place for the second time. It was a blast. The kielbasa on a pretzel bun with siracha sauce and Belgium fries was a hit. The perfect compliment to my drink a Manhattan! It’s a great German bar with tons of beer choices. The crowd was mixed and the energy was great.
