I debated whether to give this Small Eats establishment a 5 star and if I didn’t it would def be a 4 ½ star quick food place. I stopped here several time after work and tried several of the dishes. i must say, I have not been disappointed yet. Their dumplings with kimchi were with just enough and not too over-powering. Man, I wish I could run into Brooklyn for lunch and have me some of their dumplings and pork now. This place is def YUMMY for the Tummy! Good job Small Eats and thanks for moving into my hood!

One night I passed by this place while in the car and I thought to myself I need to come here to try because I love snacking. And shortly after I did come here to grab a bite. The place was very small with high tables that can sit about 3 – 4 people. The kitchen was open right in front of you. The interior design was very minimal and the owner did not allow me to take a picture of their interior. His reason being was that he’s afraid people will steal his design… I did not study interior or architectural design, but what is he talking about? Scare someone will open up another similar establishment and paint their walls red as well? Any way, their menu selection isn’t small, but it ain’t that big either. They have a variety of rice boxes, skewers, fried snacks and such. So I have ordered their Viet grilled pork chop over rice, their wings, porkbelly skewer, spring rolls, and kimchi dumplings. The grilled pork chop over rice was bland, it was not even close to what I normally get at regular Viet restaurants. The pork chop was paper-thin, okay, cardboard thin — very different from how I like my grilled pork chop done. The porkbelly on a stick was okay. Kimchi dumplings? There was kimchi in those dumplings? Might have been so little that I didn’t realize there were any. The wings, however, they were crispy and tasted really good. Everything that I’ve tried, the only thing memorable were the wings. Nonetheless, this is a great location because it’s right by the train station and bus stop. Great to grab a bite whether heading out to work or school or coming home from work or school.

I love small eats!!! I moved into the neighborhood around the same time they did and couldn’t be more pleased with my new neighbors! Run by an extended family they have everything I loved from living in china(dumplings, meat on a stick, congee) with great twists(the kimchee dumplings were incredible!!!) all running very very cheap. With five dollars in my pocket I was full to the brim and had some extra to tip! Everyone here is also extremely nice and gives you their picks of the day while you wait. I am super excited about this shop and can’t wait to make it a sunset park mainstay!

I’ve been noticing this place being fixed up for the past few weeks. A sign then arose that said«Small Plates». As I was heading home I was handed a flyer for this place. I could see across the street that it was now open. I didn’t feel like cooking after a long day at work and the menu really looked appetizing. NOTHING at this place is over $ 5. Prices range from $ 0.75-$ 5, which means if you are on a budget. This place definitely works out for you. They offer Noodle Soups, Pan Fried Noodles, Dumplings, Rice Dishes and even Skewers. The selection is isn’t much, but it’s definitely worth a try. I decided to get the Curry Chicken on Rice for $ 5. They give you a takeout box with a generous amount of curry. The flavor was good, not great. It lacked some salt to balance it out. I ended up putting some shrimp sauce at my place. They also have a variety of snacks that I will be trying in the coming days. Crispy Wontons, Pork Belly Skewers, Fried Stuffed Eggplant and Peppers and a others. All I can say is welcome to the neighborhood! You have a great location. Right by the train station and bus stop.

So glad this place is in the neighborhood! Location is so convenient, the D train is right across the street so it’s easy to grab a quick bite after a long day at work. Food is delicious, price is right, service is quick, and décor is very clean and modern! I had the kimchee dumplings and the beef stew noodle soup. Both hit the spot and I can’t wait to go back for more! The owner told me that they are going to start having daily specials soon once they get into the groove with the regular menu. Can’t wait to see what else they serve up! WELCOMETOTHENEIGHBORHOODANDTHANKYOU!

Went here today, the place is brand new. I stopped in and chatted with the owner for bit while waiting for my food. I had the chicken dumplings which were absolutely delicious. The sauce was so good I just poured it all over the dumplings instead of dipping it. So good. Apparently it is a secret mixture of their own design. I also had the chicken skewer which was quite juicy and the pork belly skewer. The pork belly skewer was really good, it’s basically bacon, but not thin red bacon like you are used to. Don’t be turned off by the name, it’s bacon, bigger and better then you are used to(and tastier). It tasted even better because it was free. After I had ordered and talked to the owner he insisted I order the pork belly but I was out of cash so he gave me one for free. I also had the fried wontons. I was expecting the run of the mill fried wonton from a typical take out chinese place but these were different. Apparently they wrap them themselves. They almost look like shumai. In any case, it was also good. My friend had the pork belly sandwich and loved that as well. There is room for three to sit, but you don’t really go here to sit and eat. It is all about finger food and cheap prices. If you are in the mood for something heartier though, don’t fret. They have soups, sandwiches and fried rice as well. I didn’t have a chance to sample any of that stuff though. Just be aware the option is there for those of you who want it. Great new addition to the neighborhood. Definitely check it out!
