Sleep Inn Prospect Park South

I booked this hotel room for three nights, not looking at reviews first. So we walk to the hotel from the subway, sketchy neighborhood but when we approached the hotel we thought wow nice looks brand new, then we walk down stairs into the lobby And as soon as we enter we can see ourselves on a screen with about 8 different security camera views. (This is when I should’ve known this place wasn’t right) we check in, get to our room and wow the room is small but very nice and looks brand new and very clean. So as I’m sitting in bed I decide to look up some reviews about this place, bad timing since we’re already there and OMG the reviews are terrible! I couldn’t believe what I was reading! My stomachs sank and I began panicking. Our food we ordered arrives at our door and he didn’t give us silverware so we had to go to the breakfast area to get some utensils and plates, so we get on the elevator and when we get off the doors open and there’s a bunch of thug ex con looking men in the breakfast area with their pants sagging and tAttoos all over there neck they just looked so rough! I felt scared for my life actually since my husband and I are actually very decent and clean and well dressed people. This hotel was clearly not for us. One guy ask if we’re here for the marathon we said no and asked him what brings him to the hotel, he said he lives at the hotel! Most of them do! I thought maybe if we are friendly to them they would be friendly back, my mistake! As we walked away to get back on the elevator one guy says «this is the last hotel I’d be starting conversations with people at, you don’t F#%? With people around here»! This obviously made me feel super safe so I ran up the stairs to our room on the the fourth floor so we wouldn’t be stuck in an elevator with criminals. We get to our room, I start crying and immediately cancel our next two nights and start looking for flights home! That’s how disturbed I was that I wanted to go home early! I was so sick to my stomachs I couldn’t eat my dinner I threw it out, waste of 40 $. Nevertheless we go to sleep and I wake up at 1 am to loud music coming from the room next to us, the walls are not sound proof at all! I listen and all the sudden moaning and groaning and spanking they were blasting a porno on there television and having sex !!! I woke up my husband and started crying again! We had to turn on the tv to block out the sound but we couldn’t sleep because we were so disgusted and upset. They didn’t stop until 4 am!!! We stayed up all night listening to them have sex and screaming until they finished… literally. it was the worst experience I’ve ever had in my entire life! I felt like my body was crawling out of my skin, I didn’t want to sleep ion the sheets since the quilt and down comforter in between the sheet had stains all over it God only knows what from so we only sleep with the sheet which was freezing, I need to take a bleach bath. Literally everything in the previous reviews came true!!! Don’t think it won’t happen to you because that’s what I thought when I originally read the reviews after already being checked in. Do not stay here unless your credit score is below 0 and you want to join the orgy going on next door. We just waited till the sun came up the next morning to book it out of there and go somewhere else. Of course we demanded a refund. This place needs to monitor who they let stay here! It’s as if they just accepted the fact that the only people who want to stay here are ex cons and people who are looking to spend the night with there hooker for cheap. The front desk didn’t even act surprised when we asked for a refund.

OMFG, I can’t even say enough amazing things about this place! Let me list all the amenities you will be able to enjoy if you stay here!!!
1. They use this hotel to house criminals who have recently been released from a «program» and don’t have housing. Yes, that’s right! YOU WILL GET TO SHARE A HOTEL WITH AN ARRAY OF SHADY CHARACTERS!
2. You can get weed anytime you want! Whooooooo hooooo! No need to go searching for it; just knock on the room next door and one of your new friends (see above) can provide you with it stat!
3. Do you like to smoke cigarettes in your room but you can’t because your room is non-​smoking? DONT WORRY! You can smoke any place you want here because all the ex-​cons do! If they try to charge you for your room smelling like smoke, just blame the 20 criminals on your floor because trust me, they were smoking all over the 2^nd floor during my visit!
4. Do you hate getting a good nights sleep? Me too! Don’t worry, it won’t happen here because the convicts staying with you party all night and you can hear it in your room! It’s awesome! The Brooklyn night life comes right to you! You’ll save cab fare and all the energy of going out.
5. Do you like porn but you hate spending the money to watch the good stuff? Same here, I get it. But you get all the free porn you want here because you can listen to those shady guys on the 2^nd floor nailing their girlfriends anytime, day OR night!!!
6. Lastly, if you are easily frightened and you like a hotel with lots of security, this is your place. They have round the clock rent-​a-​cops monitoring the every move of these guys living here. But I assure you «you’re perfectly safe» or so we were told by the staff.
This place is a dump. Run like hell. Stay anywhere else you can. Sleep in Prospect Park. Stay up all night roaming the streets of Brooklyn. Pitch a tent under the train station.

The worst sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel.
Banging, grinding, screeching every day at 7 am.
Loud banging coming from the basement every morning and throughout the day.
Slow cleaning service.
Homeless people constantly in and out, as well as camping out across the street.
Not walkable to anything, including a subway.
No room to even set a normal sized bag on the floor and open it.
Charged $ 50 for early check in.
Police patrol the lobby and know all the homeless people.
Hallways are relatively quiet, save the music blasting from the cleaning persons’ room while they clean and yell at each other.
Far away from anywhere you want to be.
One positive: room is clean and there’s a great sushi place a short drive away. Yes, a drive. Again, I do not suggest trying to walk around here, as it’s a crappy neighborhood and nothing but a crappy McDonald’s is close.
In addition, it’s the Expedia ‘secret saver’ hotel for Brooklyn, but I saved nothing. The price to which I was held hostage is the same rate this place advertises publicly.

DO not stay here. This is the seediest hotel I have ever stayed. My room wasn’t cleaned one day and as I went to explain to the front desk who really did nothing) another staff member was arguing with a «lady of the night» that they were threatening to call the police on, who had been staying at he hotel.
AWFUL!
