Silver Krust Restaurant

The food here is amazing. Oxtail is my favorite, they give you enough food for your dollars. I alway get the Fish with steamed cabbage for my dad and he always enjoy it

Not gonna compare because the food in this place is AMAZING!!! && other restaurants can’t compare… I can’t remember how I came across this place I’m just thankful I did… the portions and prices match up which is rare nowadays. Out of ALL the times I’ve been here I’ve never been disappointed. Oh and did I mention how amazing the food is lol

I have walked past this place 5 days a week for the last 1 ½ year. I would notice the name on the sign, shake my head, roll my eyes and say something to the effect of «corny ass shop ripping off the name of the (other) Krust restaurant. About two weeks ago, I finally noticed they had an «A» rating so I decided to check it out. My first order was the spinach rice with pig tails. Notice I said first. In the two weeks since, I have been back 6 times. I told my husband that I was never cooking again. I’ve had the fried chicken, bbq chicken, stew chicken, jerk chicken, rice & peas, corn meal, chicken w/​onions & peppers, and patties. Everything was fabulous EXCEPT the patties. Not a fan of the patties. Anyway, GREAT meal, GREAT price, GREAT atmosphere. The ONLY reasons I don’t give them the last star is because 1) like I stated before, I’m not a fan of their patties, and 2) the sign says «Free Delivery», but they don’t deliver.

Stopped in on a whim while visiting the Children’s Museum. The food was amazing!!! Had the bbq chicken, Mac and cheese, rice with beans and shrimp curry. Everything was excellent! Rice was spicy and left me feeling warm and cuddly!!!

A fast lunch with kids The kids gobbled down the mac & cheese. We enjoyed the spicy rice and beans with the shrimp. The side order of Macaroni salad cooled down the spice nicely.

Great food! I was in and out in only a few minutes to pick up food and it was reasonably priced!

Their food is OK, and it is affordable. I always order fried rice or rice and beans with curry goat or oxtails and potato salad.

The food is great and you get a lot for your money. I love the stew pork and fried chicken. The spinach rice is good too.

They have the BEST CURRY CHICKEN EVER. I been going to this business since I was a kid when they had a location in Merrick blvd in queens. I only like my curry chicken I make at home. This spot is the best. A great neighborhood spot.

I can’t believe it never occurred to me to review Silver Krust until tonight. Their patties are my favorite doing-​laundry treat, as well as a lunchtime fave. I was feeling curmudgeonly for giving Christine’s only 4 stars in comparison, so I had to quick go to Silver Krust to see if possibly I was giving their patties too much credit. The answer is no. Christine’s are great if your pattie experience is limited to Tower Isle. Silver Crust is Great compared to anything else you’ve eaten and liked in your whole life ever. Incredibly light, flaky, tender, buttery golden pastry, filled just barely to oozing with hot, spicy beef filling, there patties are perfection. I don’t think there’s a better $ 1.50 meal or snack in the city. They also have really good fried chicken and Caribbean specialties. At dinnertime there’s often a wait despite the surplus of similar options nearby.
The shrimp curry was just OK, I have to say, it was made with frozen shrimp and after sitting on a steam table all night the shrimp were pretty mushy but the reason to go to a place called Silver Krust is for the patties and they are 5 stars all the way.
