I had to drive to this store — it’s a bit of a hike to get to. The closest train is the #3IRT to Rockaway Avenue about 8 loooong blocks away(and smack dab in the heart of Brownsville). It’s hard to find silk dupioni fabric in a shop that doesn’t charge you crazy prices. I called them to confirm they sold this and when I got there I was happy to find a large variety of colors. I made some beautiful pillows for my Moroccan themed room for a fraction of the cost I found online — and with the colors I wanted and could actually see and feel! The place isn’t huge but holds a large amount of nice materials, including a decent amount of African mudcloth. Again, these prices are WAY better than what I found in the Manhattan stores along 7th Avenue for sure. Thumbs up to Silk Road Fabrics — hope they don’t disappear like all the other great fabric shops in Brooklyn.
