Sakman Deli

It’s okay. I’m not sure what the fascination or rave reviews are all about. It’s your basic deli/​grocery shop, by no means is it halal? If I have to hop on the train, or i’m heading back home on the train, I stop by here for a coffee or snack.

FOOD IS EXCELLENT AND THEY GIVE YOU HUGE PORTIONS! Everything we ordered here has been top notch and the you cannot beat the prices… Love this place !!

Me and my girlfriend love this place… open late. everything made fresh. When we’re hungry late at night, this is the place to go. They make fresh sandwiches, their bagels are always fresh, even at night. You order your food and The order came out exactly as placed and very quick. Great food, great service and a real bargain.

Awesome spot thats been here for over 30 years. They recently expanded and took over the storefront next door which added more variety than the single location.
I have won some money playing lottery here which is always a plus to my bank account. The deli counter is quite (Huge!!!) in my best Donald Trump impersonation Lol. I always try to stay away from cold cuts but just staring at all the meat in the showcase makes my mouth drool.
Prime location for the subway, coffee is decent and you can review the magazine rack before the old lady asks you, «What are you looking at»?? Nothing dear… lol.
Service is friendly and the prices really decent !!

This place is awesome. It’s the classic New York convenience store, and they have have a great deli. Their food is all Halal and fresh.

As one reviewer noted below, «The cheeseburger you get here tastes how McDonald’s used to, many years ago. Big, sloppy, slidey, moist, hot.» Agreed! Order the cheeseburger cooked medium rare, with lettuce, onions, ketchup and mayo. You will be happy. Alas, steer clear of the regular fries. They are decidedly un-​crunchy.

There’s a number of tiny bodegas in Bay Ridge now which add a hot grill/​sandwich counter to their business as Sakmans has done. But Sakmans surely is one to marvel at. The variety of dishes coming out of this pint-​sized corner business is astonishing. Enormous menu. I’m not lying when I assure you I’ve had a winner with every meal I’ve ordered. In particular, the ‘cheeseburger deluxe’ is just bang-​on.
Recently, craving a burger I went to McDonald’s and McDonald’s is so horrible these days I almost barfed it right back up. I truly felt as if I was eating garbage. I should’ve come here instead. The cheeseburger you get here tastes how McDonald’s used to taste, many years ago. Big, meaty, sloppy, slidey, moist, hot. A real treat! And you can order fries, curly fries, curly Spanish fries, or onion rings on the side. The o-​rings here are the way that Burger King *used to* make their onion rings.
Service is always courteous, prices cheap, and the place is always bustling. Its just grand to see a humble little joint doing a 5-​star job in the area that warms a man’s heart – fast, hot food. Hurrah!
