OK falafel, but for 7 $ I expected it to be fantastic and huge. That was far from the case — I’m writing this review from the indian place close by. The good — unlimited tahini. The bad — too pricy. The ugly — schug did not look very good so i passed on it. So come here if you like falafel, hipsters and not getting your money’s worth.

I don’t have a problem writing a tough review but I haven’t had a bad experience yet. When I do I’ll lay down that hammer like Thor. Queen of Falafel is an interesting little joint with a big heart tucked away on the corner of House of Yes, a music slash entertainment venue. If I read The House of Yes wiki right it’s «an artist collective with a performance venue and art space that hosted numerous underground art and music shows, fashion shows, dance parties, and most prominently, circus arts performances.» Obviously I’m interested in hitting up the House of Yes.ahaha. Food Surprisingly really good. It’s a top for me. Staff Hardworking with a notch of excellent service. I can’t remember ever seeing a Mediterranean plate or Falafel prepared in an artisanal manner. Location Not for you If you don’t like rubbing up against people with a little less intimacy than the subway. Otherwise it’s the size of $ 4,000 a month loft. We had no problem getting seats. It’s charming and it works. Train Very close to the Jefferson stop on the L train. Fun Fact If they are practicing or playing at the House of Yes then your Falafel will be bouncing on the table like a Muskrat grooving to Kanye West meets Diplo.

Delicious. Prices are a little on the high end but the food is so good and you can tell they’re using quality ingredients. Everyone who works there is the right amount of friendly /reserved. Sometimes the side is open and you can stay and eat, which is nice. There used to be a bathroom to wash your hands in before you ate, but that seems to be gone.

For $ 8.50, I got the falafel sandwich with roasted eggplant(an extra). The sandwich was packed with a bottomless amount of well textured falafel balls, vegetables, and tahini. The highlight is their condiment and sauce section. Schug and Shivka are like relishes, one green and vibrant, and the other acidic and spicy. Tahini is already in there, but the harissa and amba are two other sauces that helps moisten the falafel and also bring a heat to each bite. Be sure to return to the station and fill up on these as you go through the sandwich. The layers off flavor are endless. Definitely a filling sandwich that has become possibly my favorite falafel in the city(along with Taim) and therefore, one of my favorite sandwiches around.

Upon entering I was confused that their food was really only to go. But we decided to roll with it. I got the middle eastern combo plate and my wife got a plate with roasted eggplant, tachina, egg and other stuff. We also got some labne and fries. The eggplant was perfectly cooked — smokey and creamy. The thick spongy whole wheat pita was the best pita of any kind I’ve had anywhere including the Middle East. The hummus was good as were the falafel. Salad was great and all the sauces were spectacular. The pita croutons that came with the labne were really tasty. In short perfect food. Served by cool folks.

At the risk of completely dating myself, I found out about this place via an impassioned chowhound rec. Thanks, Blumie! Falafel is every bit as good as you and my fellow Unilocalers say: Dragged my weaned-on-falafel Israeli husband here who confirmed the raves. We chatted with a charming young guy whom I believe was one of the proprietors, and from our conversation, it seems the menu here is inspired by deeply rooted family tradition. Love that. Also love that the same thought and care that go into the food extends to the housemade condiments, that if memory serves, include Amba(Arabic pickled green mango sauce) and Harissa,(North African hot red pepper paste). Hubby was thrilled to spot Schoug, a Yemeni spicy green chile and cilantro purée he grew up with, and would dollop on everything if I let him. And he did exactly that with the delicious Sabich, a pita sandwich stuffed with fried eggplant and boiled egg, that he was devouring. As others have pointed out, the space is tiny, even with the House of Yes dressing room cum dining area. Why is it that all the best falafel spots do not offer comfortable seating to enjoy a leisurely meal?(Yes, I am referring to you, Kalushkat). And the thing is, good falafel to-go is an oxymoron, becoming soggy in minutes. Alas, I think the moon and the stars are gonna have to collide just right to put me in the right frame of mind to return. Disclaimer: I actually tried this place a couple months back and have been meaning to post about it ever since.

Friendly and cheap(ish) and delicious. Bushwick’s answer to Oasis? Super tiny, especially when House of Yes is using their sitting area as a dressing room(which was the case when I arrived). But grab it to go! Why not!

Holy falafel balls! This teeny tiny place serves up amazing food. All you need to know: — their falafel is extraordinary(best I’ve ever had) — the hummus is the bomb diggity — ordering for take out is just as delicious as eating it fresh. — you can take their food into House of Yes during shows(I believe they’re affiliated) — they make the food right in front of you so you know it’s clean and fresh. — they take cash and card! I’m on a mission to try everything on their menu. So far I’ve had the falafel sandwich(great serving for $ 7), hummus, arabic salad, french fries — you just can’t go wrong. Try their homemade sauces!

$ 7 might seem like a lot to pay for a falafel sandwich(or it might not, I don’t know you and the millions you make), but at Queen of Falafel, they make it worth your while. Why, you ask? 1. Because it’s as good as falafel can really be. There used to be a joint on Ave B that I thought had the best, but they closed, so I can’t even compare the two. This is my new favorite. 2. Because they LOADTHESANDWICHESUP. This is a whole pita, stuffed to the brim with deliciousness. I thought I was getting a quick snack, but really I was getting a meal that would’ve angered my father to no end because I ruined my dinner. 3. Because they are the nicest people ever. I guess this doesn’t really mean as much in terms of dollar value, but it means a lot to me. The folks behind the counter chatted me up as I scarfed this enormous sandwich down, and even pretended to enjoy my company. Side notes: –The Amba sauce is good, and the hot sauce is even better. Full of flavor, so make sure to snag some. –While I was there, a nice couple came in with a cute little newborn, and complimented the staff on their excellent delivery. So if you live in the ‘hood, you have that going for you.

Stopped in this small hole in the wall. Don’t be fooled, the flavors and quality are so delicious, and it stood up to all the reviews. I got the eggplant plate with an added a side of falafel and loved it! Definitely a memorable lunch and inexpensive too.

UPDATE Have come back several times and this place is consistent, I got the eggplant sandwich with falafel and holy wow. It is pricey but is worth it. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – Great falafel sandwiches and great sauces to accompany them, all super fresh and a cute little spot all together. Def. some of the best Falafel I have had in NYC Dreaming of the next time I get to eat it again.

Great hole in the wall falafel restaurant $ 7 falafels are great and they are freshly made pita’s that are microwaved, stuffed with falafel, diced cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles, light sauerkraut and tahini. the eggplant sabbich is a good cold sandwich filled with chewy roasted eggplant and boiled organic eggs sandwich that has a good cool buttery taste with the same citrusy toppings as the regular falafel. They usually also have daily specials like kabob sandwiches and chicken shawarmas which are also great alternatives. They have great sauces including a spicy harissa, pickeled mango chutney, pickled jalapenos, and a green herb hot sauce. All these make the falafel stand out. This place usually doesn’t have too long of a line but can get a bit crowded with bar hoppers, locals, and the like. They have about 4 seats that quickly open up, and if the back room is open(usually during the day) you’ll have a spot to eat at, or you have to just pick up and eat it outside.

There is a reason this place has five stars– simply amazing! Queen of Falafel is a tad hard to find on google maps since it is part of the House of Yes in bushwick — but don’t let this deter you! I ordered the falafel pita sandwich and my friend ordered the falafel platter. The sandwich was only $ 7 and extremely filling. The restaurant is small and only has 8 chairs total — all seating is on a 3 separate counters that are near the ordering counter or in the room directly adjacent. Lots of people get takeout from here too, though we decided to eat in for the full experience. They have a water cooler with cups available — the water has sliced lemons and mint inside which was a nice touch. The sauces were also amazing– added some slice to my already amazing pita. To get really specific, I especially enjoyed the tomatoes. At such a cheap price they very well could have found tiny diced tomatoes that have no flavor but instead the tomatoes(as seen in the photo) were halved cherry tomatoes, super flavorful. Will definitely return here soon!

#Holy Moly. The Pita here is so fluffy. I got this Hummus Falafel Plate when I went to the House of Yes for a Bernie Sanders fundraiser. That place is pretty cool. They had aerial dancers. A lot of people thought I was a narc though. #Hippies.

SO yummy and fresh. This place is really cute and tiny. There’s not much seating, but you get to enter into the side where there is a wall covered in flower wallpaper and a mirror across from that and bar stools to eat on a bar table. The mirror is really weird so when you’re eating you’re staring at yourself. I think on the other side of the curtains between the mirrors is a secret club(?) weird! The food is affordable and so filling!

When I heard that Rivka Orlin,(owner of the famed East Village Restaurant serving arguably some of the best Mediterranean food since the early eighties) was opening a Middle Eastern, Mediterranean fusion restaurant in my neighborhood, there was no question I was going. Located in the corner of House of Yes… an arial dance and alternative venue well worth checking out… there isn’t much space. This isn’t a place durning the winter a large group can come to. there is only a small bar along the hallway with mirrors lining the wall to sit in front of and eat. It’s a place that is great for yourself or you and a friend to pop in. When the weather is better you can hangout on the bench out front or by one of the nearby parks. Many great lil pub/bars in the area allow you to bring in take out as well. The menu is a great mix of sandwiches, plates(including a main and two sides) and soups and desserts. I went with the famous and I believe the BEST falafel I have ever had! I also tried their special of Red Lentil Soup which came with homemade croutons. It was incredible, and to round it out I had the fresh Moroccan Mint Iced Tea… It was a perfect lunch! I will be back many many times!

The food here is excellent. Fresh ingredients, clean preparation, really tasty hummus. Nice ratio of veggies to falafel balls on the sandwich. Friendly staff and really lovely little location with adorable décor and delicious smells-not your typical greasy falafel joint. Strong hipster vibes. That being said, and I truly hate to be that one person who has a less than stellar review, but this isn’t the best falafel I’ve ever had, and it certainly was not worth $ 7. This is NYC-you can get the best falafel in the world for $ 2.50. Prices here are obnoxiously high, for a(slightly better than) run of the mill falafel. I appreciate the convenience of this location, and am always into supporting local/small businesses, but I doubt I will become a regular here.

Lovely! Well the place is very small and can only accommodate so many people, but the food here makes up for that, could be the best falafel I lve ever had! Also, the chips with the Harissa ketchup was extremely tasty! The staff are really nice too, I went to Brooklyn for this place after reading the reviews and was not disappointed.

I cannot begin to explain how amazing it is to have this restaurant in the neighborhood. Everything on the menu is fresh, healthy, and absolutely delicious! Don’t miss out on the red lentil soup(and killer bread to accompany it) or the meatball sandwich. The mint lemonade is fresh and homemade, and the homemade baklava is to die for!

This place must be new because there’s no way it can be this good with so little reviews. Tiny, unassuming and easy to miss, but you’ll be so sorry if you do! Perfect for a quick bite. Falafel sandwich is amazing. This isn’t your cheap and dirty(yet still delicious) Mamoun’s falafel — they use really high quality ingredients and it tastes so fresh and flavorful and packs so much spice into each bite. All the different elements in the sandwich come together really nicely, and the pita is so warm and fluffy — even though it’s the whole wheat one. The only suggestion I might have is to cut their raw veggies a little bigger for more texture because their falafel texture is of a courser grade. Otherwise, A+! It’s quite reasonable at $ 7 for how big it is too — 2 meals for someone with a small appetite like me! Love the self-serve sauce bar where you can get harissa, herb green sauce, tahini and pickles. Mediterrannean salsa bar, here I come! The place is very small, but they have this long narrow hallway with candles and counter seating that give it the authentic, unique Brooklyn vibe. Workers are chill and down to earth. They share a bathroom with a performance hall — which is kind of weird if you walk in while they’re performing, but whatever. Free show!
